Lyrics:
Now we’ve reached the final call
Where I will break you down to nothing
Suffocate
Left behind to stagnate
Until we see the end of days
Timeless pain
And endless weight
Now I am anchored in effusion
Paradox of mortal man
I can’t refrain my desperate hand
Deal the fated cards again
Defy the odds
As we begin to mend
Om Mani Padme Hum
It’s time to pick a side
Will your legacy fold under
The endless hoards of reprobates
Gnawing at your spine?
If you could give the world a savior
Would you crucify yourself?
Or would you cower with the rest of them
And earn your place in hell?
I hear the desert call my name
For the seventh time
I fear our reach exceeds our grasp
So remind me where this ends
Hide behind the mask
Conflagrate inside a void of silence
Speak now at last
And pray to God this only ends in violence
I know that you can’t save me
After all I’m dead inside
From all that I’ve become
Rebuilding patterns to survive
Erasure
I forget
Just how we’re supposed to live down here
When you eviscerate my soul
I need a brand new body
No control
I want to store my memories in the sands
I want to see the things that no man can
And with all this light I consecrate
When the balance of the world is at stake
Will I learn from my mistakes?
Over and over again
Yeah
And now the earth screams back at me
For the final time
Soothsayer
Hold your head underwater
I don’t need another breath
Hide behind the mass
Congregate and be devoid of conscience
Remain aghast
When all the world can see
Is their own likeness
Pray to God this only ends in violence
Om Mani Padme Hum
Well I’ve made up my mind
I know that you can’t save me
And every step that I retrace
Reminds me I’m a fake
Maybe next time
I won’t forget all I’ve learned
And I won’t be the one who fails
The one who always burns
I’m losing my shine
Was I ever enough?
Because after all your heroes die
Their souls begin to rust
No I’ll never find
Another person to trust
And in the end we all were made
We all return to dust
Ocular congruity
I’m fucking done with this illusion
Myopic fantasy
Your God is a wolf within sheep’s clothing
Search yourself
For every righteous thought
Cling to life
But don’t rewrite the plot
I will burn every bridge in the world
Until my final day
I’ll kill myself
And see what God has to say

This quickly became my favorite song. I love everything about it. The chant has powerful meaning. The piano into the heavy guitar. Wells vocals are beautiful, but devastating. I love this album so much
Bobby Hill chants it in an episode of King of the Hill. He is canonically a Lama.
Man... It's both rough to hear and awesome just how spiteful the lyrics and feeling of this album is. They nailed the feeling of betrayal of self and almost complete denouncement of belief at points. You can tell some of it came from a rough place... With all that's going on in the world and with specific things Andrew/bandmates were going through last few years, it kinda makes sense that it feels so raw at times. It's not uncommon to have the feelings of just "Why is everything going so wrong for me? When I have done all I can to be better." I'd even say it's a common theme in this genre, but to hear it from Eidola... After three conceptual albums of soul searching and discovery of self, it's so much more impactful. I'm so curious to hear the lyrics/style for the second half album later this year, and specifically how it consolidates and reconciles things.
One saying that my father taught me is "Neither good nor bad things last forever", and it's damn true.
This album is one of the biggest contenders for AOTY for sure man!
Andrew was put threw hell before the Architect. I can't say anymore But Now you can see Karma is on his side , He derserves all he has worked hard for .
The first time I heard this I knew it was my favourite song on the album. Honestly, when I saw the title had "Temple" in it, I knew then.
Congrats Eidola, you constantly evolve and find new ways to impress. I cannot wait for the follow up to this masterpiece.
See you in Buffalo.
sang and screamed this entire song driving on a dark rural road with the windows down - that healed me. as close as i could get to seeing them live
This album is going to be something to me for a very long time. This is my favorite song on it, and partly for the Alan Watts sample, but also because it speaks to something I can't describe. I have not listened to anything but this album on repeat since it came out (currently day 6). I've been through it about 70 times.
Eviscerate is a very accurate name.
This album feels every way that I already feel, but intensified and made beautiful instead of being stuck inside of me.
I lost a fur child right before this came out and in general I'm Chronically Going Through It™ if you know you know.
This band is my go-to when I need to feel safe, listen to something that helps. My favorite band if I might be so bold to pick a favorite.
I feel the exact same way brother…this song touches a place in my mind I didn’t know existed….I
all the Temple songs are absolute fire
I knew this album and song specifically needed to be the soundtrack for my next DMT trip once I heard it and saw this visualizer. Finally got around to it and god damn was that a good decision
Haven’t done DMT myself but fuck that sounds like such a powerful experience
My favorite song on the album by a lot, I really would love to see more of this longer-form proggy stuff, much like early Eidola but heavier.
This might be their best song.
Like, the chanting, the piano, the whole band at it's peak.
11/10.
this whole album is fire. Every song is so good
Easily the best album of the year. Been on repeat since dropping.
The whole album is amazing but this one really tops the other tracks. That piano track with Andrew singing sweetly into my ears is perfection.
A masterpiece 🔥
Holy. Shit... This is the best thing Eidola has ever made and it isn't close
Excited for the next album, I hope it’s peaceful.
No way dude. The darker and heavier the better lol
They just released the new single from mend, and it’s not anywhere near as dark sounding as any of these songs.
@@jeffbell4434then you’re probably not gonna like Mend lol
Degeneraterra pulling through beautifully from the previous temples to now! Complete the Saga, it is Glorious!
This song is a BANGER.
Sooooooo GOOOOOOD!!!!
Alan Watts in the new Eidola! Let's go!
‘If you could give the world a savior, would you crucify yourself? Or would you cower with the rest of them and earn your place in Hell?’ ❤️🙏✌️
Their drummer really doesn’t get enough credit.
Andrew is the one who records all the instruments lmao
@@SuicideSeason4545 Matt writes and records drums
I was going to say, I’m pretty sure I remember seeing shots of Matt tracking drums for their albums.
🔥🔥🔥
FAWWWK! This is so good.
This shit is POWERFUL!
Damn this shit slaps 🎉🎉🎉🎉
Wow Edola has changed a lot since I last heard them. Last time was when they played with Artifex Pereo. I think right before Andrew joined DGD. Have they been going in this direction or is this new?
Hinted here and there but man.. this was full throttle
a couple months ago he hinted that the next album (this one) was going to be heavy - "While keeping our core sound, we chose to experiment with a new producer, 7 string guitars, deep drop tunings, and lean into the violence and loss in our lyrical content.”
The beginning guitar riff in this song and then the way the screamed vocals come in reminds me so much of some other song but i cant think of what it is. Does anyone know what im talking about?
I’m pretty sure it’s a motif from the opening of Omni: First Temple but played in a minor key and distorted.
this took me back to Degeneraterra. What a tune.
Yes
This is now one of my top three song from each album
1. Sri Vishnu Yantra - To Speak, To Listen
1. Golgotha Compendium: Fifth Temple - Eviscerate
1. Elephant Bones - The Architect
Same top few for me too. Incredible nondual vibes from all angles of the experience.
Mee too buddy, mee too
One more day til Godhead releases
