- Hey guys! this method of abusing kenshi bed mechanics still working so you can level up dexterity, martial arts, strength, weapon skills easily.
Just remember to save and load game when your creature is ready for training!

Kenshi noob here. Why did your arm and leg got damaged? Do the creatures attack or do you suffer damage from your own martial attack?
You get damaged from your martial attacks up until a certain level
So I've never been able to attack any asset in a bed. I don't know if there's a trick to it that I haven't come across or what. I doubt it's any mod I'm using because I've not been able to do this in vanilla either.
Advice?
On second watching of this video, I'm assuming the quick save/load is what allows us to do this. Yes?
I got often that i unable to hit animal in bed, fast save and load can help sometimes, but if not working you can try to get some human without at least 1 leg, put in bed and attack, it should work
They die too fast for me, one even crushed the gorilla's limb 😅
Did this in my town, by building a State house, put some beds in, one close to the edge, in its larger section. Works great, got one Elder beak thing in the bonefields. It has tons of life, heals pretty fast. I always train with complete samurai armor and two trader's backpack full of iron ore on my inventory, got martial arts, strengh, dex and a bit toughness up at the same time, very fast .

if reloading the save is not helping, try instead putting down the animal, if it was already conscious when doing so, it will set the timer for unconscious to 10 seconds, wait till the timer goes to 0, pause and tell your character to grab the gorilla. The trick is to have the gorilla aggro to you / try to attack and since you activated the command to pick him up while he was unconscious you will do so even though he is fully awake. If you do grab him like this, placing him into the bed will activate the trick. In case you fail picking him up, knock him unconscious, heal him up and wait for him to become conscious once more. If when placing him to the bed after succesfully grabbing him does not work, pick him up again from the bed, place him to the ground and repeat. Once you get the timing right you will do this consistently and should be faster than reloading a save.
If you do this way I find it best with 2 people one to pick up and one to provoke the creature and I got it to work that way. As soon as it hit 0 I had one pick up and when it woke up I paused and had the other attack the creature went red and immediately got snatched and put into bed worked the first time haven’t tried it again tho.

From my testing, it still wonky. I find the way to be a bit more consistent by put in cage first. This force animation of animals to stand up and put back in bed.and seconds is the state that animal in right around recovery from 0to1(blood,chest or stomach)
What a nice abuse and it still works.
btw if you don't want early prosthetics, better use assassins rags for early MA training. 100% fist protection and along with samurai boots and legplates you will still have about zero MA skill for maximum XP gain.
Hello fellow kenshi player, heres a likep
i couldn't put the gorillo on hive beds it says it doesn't belong to me every time, so i picked up the gorilla with my fastest character then run to the hub and put the animal on the bed at the bar, then it worked like a charm.
the only problem is gorillo is kinda squishy if you have already have characters with decent stats so pick the gorillo instead of beak things otherwise you'll use alot of medkits.
I just tried that and the bick thing got out of the bed and started attacking the moment I hit him. (It was in a destroyed building in the hub). Is it just the way it sometimes turn out?
Easiest way is to find the White Mane Gorillo, release it from the prison and let the town citizens to knock it down before using it as your punch bag.
Damn it works, thanks for the video, I swear its really hard to get descent dex unless you already have a starting character like the old soldier or recruit u someone else to give you an advantage. I found out the hard way that dex can be gained faster if you use martial arts but who in someone's right mind is gonna beat about dust bandits or even worser enemies just for a few points at most or playing the game normally which still takes forever.
it's not working anymore. i can't put the creature in bed. i think devs fixed it.
I trying leviathan before . Apparently its not an cariable entities sadly, even after edit it using fcs its lack idle animation, the leviathan will hit you back :) instant kill
Martial arts training + Acid + prosthetics = profit.
The reason why you cant attack gorillo in bed is because they loose aggro quickly, so you need to put it on the floor and wait until it becomes aggroed and then pick it up as soon as it aggro on somebody, you don't need to wait until somebody beats it up. Leviathans and huge crabs are the best for this method as their hit boxes overlap meaning you can hit multiple of them with unarmed or weapon attack.

Can I put beak things in a proper bed in a house I bought is squin?
I frequently use this strategy if the guards come busting down your door to get to the beak things just build something cheap in front of the door so they can't path to them.
It doesn’t let me put them in beds
I just did this trick, still works, to slow down the beat down on the gorilla I put my new recruits in samurai armor to nerf with the martial arts skill. They get a bit of STR as well due to the weight of the armor.
I cant find the big animals anywhere in the area.
I always use the beds from the house in the hub.
does it work with fogmen ? Because it doenst work for me :(
Fogmen is humanoid, so they know how to use bed/sleeping bag and will run away when get conscious

You can't put animals in beds you don't own.
It's hotel sleeping bags, You rent them

Can you use same method for weapon training? Or is this less useful because you'd kill it faster?
It also works quite good, but depends on weapon, for example with cutting weapons against "fleshy" enemies it will make quite fast them to Blood loss KO, and you need really low damage weapon for training, but I was able still level up good katanas, blunt or even heavy weapons, only polearms somehow getts buggy inside buildings and character won't attack
