This video is about Jaguar X-type headlight change and not only bulb replacement, but improvement. The majority of Jaguar X-type drivers suffer from poor headlights, if only their car doesn't enjoy a xenon lights option. But the high beam lights remain unsatisfactory in most cases.
Here I bring to your attention my way of fixing this problem, my so-said life hack. The matter is that I make use of a +130% Philips bulbs for a high beam light. Such bulbs shine brighter, I cannot guarantee 130%, but considerably brighter for sure. The only disadvantage of any PLUS bulbs is that they are equipped with thinner filaments, which produce more light, but don't last long. Such bulbs are very sensitive to high voltage.
But I turn to advantage the peculiarity of a Jaguar X-type supply system, which is running at 15 volts during the first 5 minutes after the engine starts and then switching to 13 volts till the end of the journey. I don't turn on the high beam lights equipped with PLUS bulbs during the high voltage mode, which allows me to avoid PLUS bulbs burn out.
I check the current voltage making use of my Head Up display, which indicates volts in the right upper corner, but it doesn't matter which voltmeter you prefer for the above life hack. The idea is that at 15 volts you shouldn't turn on the high beam lights equipped with PLUS bulbs until the car switches to 13 volts.
Jaguar X-type halo headlights (high beam lights) can be improved without any additional expenses with the help of my life hack only. As for the low beam lights, I also improved them and if you are interested in my way (maybe the easiest and the least expensive one), just write about it in the comments and I will share my method of fixing Jaguar x-type headlight problems to you.

Bonjour la France, thanks for the comment. I did the same for some time, but the plug-in voltmeter/thermometer died soon. And now I can say for sure what the voltage is even without any HUD displays/voltmeters.

Many thanks to Ireland for watching! The head-up is of some unbranded Chinese make, I've just purchased it from eBay several years ago. It has got multiple features, I'm making use of it from time to time, but I don't keep it plugged in the OBD socket just to be on the safe side to avoid any possible ECU issues.

Hi! Very usefull video, I just wanted to ask if I can use Philips H1 X-Treme Vision Pro150, they seem the same, but they don't give +130% but 150%, will that be a problem? Thank you in advance.
Thank you for your comment. I believe it doesn't matter much: 130% or 150%. You can use even Osram Nightbreakers. The idea is that when Jag switches to 13.2 volts you can make use of any +% bulbs in high beams, they will shine bright and last for quite a long time (those bulbs are still alive on my Jag).

Could you explain to me as to a novice in this area: were it not about the money, which type of lamps would you install all over the car, including headlights, of course?)) I thought LEDs are the most advanced option, and they consume the least current. You say in the comments that xenon lamps are very expensive. Could you provide just a comparative quote as for all three types of new headlamps for X-Type: halogen-xenon-led, please? I mean, this type is so many dollars per lamp, and this one is so, etc... I am confused about this... Thank you once again!)
I meant that an OEM X-type xenon is expensive, because you have to replace a lot of things, in case you swap OEM halogen for OEM xenon. So I installed Philips +130% halogen bulbs in high beams and make use of them as it is explained in the video. As for the low beams, I was using an aftermarket Chinese Xenon (Fast Bright) for about 5 years, until they burned out this summer - both and simultaneously. So I have to find a new option for my low beams. If you have any ideas on this matter, you are welcome to advise.

There can be a lot of reasons, why your car is overheating: beginning with the engine head gasket blown or a thermostat, coolant pump, a fan control unit failure. You need a motorist to check the engine head gasket and an electrician to check the fan control unit (it sits on the radiator near the battery). Good luck to you and your car!

For some reason my red button on my key fob doesn't turn the headlights on like you demonstrated. Im sure there must be a setting that I can change??
It looks like a button issue. I would open the key fob and spray the red button with some spray for contacts and if necessary try to solder the button to the fob's circuit board with a soldering iron. In my case it helped.

Thanks bro, but: X-type head lights are not designed for LED bulbs, they don't provide necessary cooling or need either cut or not cover back caps, otherwise LEDs burn out quickly. Besides, quality LED are much more expensive, than halogen bulbs. And cheap LED bulbs are often out-focused, because their array often don't match the filament position of H1 bulbs, Jaguar X-type head lights are designed for. Are you still insisting on LED bulbs for X-type?

The matter is that my video is not only about bulb replacement, it's more about headlight improvement. +...% bulbs will not last long in low beams, that's why I recommend to use them in high beams only.

Easier to try Jaguar X-type OEM Xenon, but it will cost half of the pre-owned Jag's price.
I have a united States 2002 jaguar x type 3.0 is extremely difficult to replace the front passenger most right most headlight bulb. It space is soo tight to get to. I heard via the jaguar x type forum to use a bent coat hanger to try to reach the clips properly
@@hotmasked1 The matter is that when you get to know how it works you can do it with a screwdriver or any hook. You can try and remove a plastic cover on the driver's side, if it seems more convenient to you. It will be easier to handle the passenger side. Good luck!
