    Anyone using this with 2.8 here's how I got it working for me:
    Export object in t-pose from blender as OBJ (not FBX this gave me errors ymmv)
    Repeat steps in video, choose your animation on Mixamo
    Download from Mixamo as Collada (not FBX) settings: with skin, 30fps, keyframe reduction none
    Import DAE file to Blender with default settings, copy paste your textures back to character. Press space to enjoy your animated character!
    Note: The bones import as 0.010 scale for some reason but the animations work regardless.

      Bonus: Since this was my immediate next problem, here's the quick solution to "how do I attach and animate a weapon to the character"
      Go to first frame, position the weapon in the characters hand(s), in object mode first select the weapon then shift-select the bones. Then ctrl-P - to Bone. Now the weapon moves with the bones.

    For those wanting transitions between the strips. On the NLA editor select strip one and strip two and press shift+T. Make sure to have a gap between the strips which will be the time of your transition.

    Folks try Blender 2.79b it works for Mixamo animations. I just got it working today. My older version of Blender 2.72 doesn't work though for animations not sure why, but will try to find out what it is. Oh and yeah that step to apply 'Experimental Transform' didn't work out for Blender 2.79b. So I deleted the ruined mesh and started over, but applied the other part he mentioned about 'Manuel Orientation'. Thanks bro for this cool tutorial. I finally can move forward into the world of animation using Mixamo and Blender. I did it before in the past, but that was with a differing version of Blender and I had no clue what I was doing back then. Things have changed drastically in that regard for me in terms of understanding Blender basics.

    To import FBX from Mixamo properly. In armatures check automatic bone correction and in the main uncheck pre/post rotation. It is working fine after that.

      @@ChavsberryGaming There is also a new addon called BETTER FBX IMPORTER/EXPORTER. It is very good. It is paid. But the developer is very helpful. It will save countless hours of eyebrow pulling. Even the animations come in seamlessly after that. And the export is good as long as you have the right scale decided. Sometimes it will come in tiny when you import it into Unreal or Unity or Max. So fiddle with the scale factor until the scene looks right in relation to the Inbuilt Character who is typically around 180 cm tall. All the best.

    This was a great, easy to understand tutorial. I had to tweak some things on my own in 2.79 but it worked fantastically! I will next try in 2.8.1. Thank you!

    Thanks a lot! this really helped me. Really appreciate your contribution.
    I was stuck for days trying to figure out how to keep the 3rd person camera behind the character (stable) when the character was running. My character used to go outside the field of view of camera because the XYZ location from the animation were adding up with translation. For anyone else facing the same problem please jump to 13:46

    importing the characters from mixamo in my case however didn't work with "apply transformation" ticked but got the same results as op when unticking

    Thanks for great tutorial, but there is some mesh tangled in Blender when playing animation. But when i download all animation with skin option on in Mixamo it's work. Only need to delete all mesh and leave 1 mesh.

    Great tutorial. How would you go about doing it the other way around? Stitching second animation to the first animation that is not stationary? What I would like to have that jump and then by the end of it have the character continue walking from the point where the first one landed?

    After importing fbx its just importing bones there is no body :O

    Enjoyed the video, definitely had some good info. My situation is a bit different than the later part of the video. I have an animation of shutting a car door, then I want my character to start walking from there, but my walk animation seems to want to start at 0 location? Any info on changing that?

    Great vid been at this for a couple of hours (all day) ;] its not working for version 2.77a. Actually you don't need to click those two options first to make it work, it will break the character. You should import fine if it is a .fbx file only.

    the animations really slow down to a crawl when i apply them to my model. its not an issue with geometry, when i was using DAE mixamo animations they were kinda broken but it ran flawessly, wtf.

    the point with your method is that you can't achieve a smooth transition from one pose to another. I am trying to figure out by copying the keyframes from every fbx i am importing but then there is some total mess with the location and the origin point . Do you have any idea how can i fix it plz?

    Hi so I have a question. So, you bring an animation into blender but now how do you attach a weapon with with the animated mesh so that the weapon equally follows the flow of the animated movements? I have being trying to do that but can't figure it out. WOULD YOU PLEASE DO A TUTORIAL THAT WILL TEACH US HOW TO DO THAT? THANKS!!!!

      You gotta rig the gun to the hand bone, and pose the gun and well as fingers into it before animating them I believe. I just watched a video of it from a school teacher. Look up 'Creating a Character in Adobe Fuse and Importing it into Blender - Part 2' It's the video I watched. That school teacher is pretty good at some of the more basic Blender functionality and tool implementation. So I'm learning from him some things I wasn't totally aware of. His video/s might be able to help you figure it out. Good luck!

      I am late to this video . Hope you read this or figured it out. I also tried this in 2.79 and you can't use Apply Transform when importing your .fbx. Also, in order to only see your main character in your animation you have to also hide the bones and other body parts etc. not just the main armatures in our animations. Then you see all of your animations smoothly and in order.

    I am having problem exporting it in fbx & gltf format. The texture goes away in fbx format. In gltf it doesn't generate the bin or the texture file . Can someone help ?

      Take all the files you get from Mixamo including the materials/UV map data, OBJ file, and MTL and highlight them all (After exporting OBJ). Then right click them and send to Zip Folder. This will prepare them to be moved to the Mixamo website. Once done properly you'll get all the textures packed onto the character via the Mixamo website and can then create the autorig (Follow all on screen steps). From there the FBX/animations can be downloaded and merge wherever you wish that's compatible. Hope this helps!

      #1 NLA Editor. Select strip. KEEP mouse hovered over strip. SHIFT-TAB to edit Stashed/Pushed strips / TAB to edit strips used in Tracks. SHIFT-TAB/TAB _IN_ NLA Editor when done editing the strip; (it is panel sensitive.)
      #2 Personally...
      Ignore #1. Make Run, Blink, Talk, etc. Strips in Action Editor. Stash each into NLA. Goto NLA Editor. Select Character RIG (not mesh). Add Track. Add Track. Select Track #1. Add Action: Run. Select Track #2 (above #1 for this layered system). Timeline to appropriate frame. Add Action: Blink. Move time. Add Action: Talk. Blink and Talk at the same time require stacked Tracks with the Actions also stacked in the same time.
      Now I have a Run animation that I can layer things on top of without messing up the Run itself. Do pay attention to Extrapolation Modes and Blending for the Action Clips (Found in the N Panel of the NLA Editor.) when layering strips to avoid confusing yourself.

    When I want my character to walk, all the bones works fine however the characters arms fold inwards and it looks messed up. All the other bones are working fine tho. Can u please give a solution to why this is doing this?

      Gamefromscratch it’s okay I found a way for it to work. What I did before if download one with skin and the rest without, if I just downloaded every animation with skin and then remove it, it’ll work. It’s a weird solution

    i imported fbx and did stuff ya did {different animations and charectors of course plus more of them} and when i render it is a black scene thought maybe it was messed up i had plenty of lights and cameras to get animation from multiple sources! please help me!

      +Michelle Linijak sadly since this video was published, Adobe have made massive changes to Mixamo and it's really broken now.

      darn that rally sux! i tried other models i had already in blender after i saw what ya said but they do not come up either.. i see an image of a building showing it's wires! any help with that?

      i have like 5 cameras and a few lights with like five main charectors which i think most of the cameras are canstrant to different models they are just dancing around "dance party" lol.. so if you have advice i would love it!

    When I combine 2 animations the second animation rolls back to the same starting point as the previous one,Can I adjust the location so I can start the second action strip at the location the first action strip had ended.?

    Hello all Guys... i know you has problem to move you character by using animation from mixamo... i also has this problem..     Only that i will never be so stupid to use mixamo characters in first place.. lol. I usually want quality in my projects, sorry. And specially if im working with ue4. Btw, do you realize that collada or obj doesnt have full animation support, right?? thats why you have so many problems importing from those formats lol. But if you dont know that by now...

      +George R obj is for static meshes only, but COLLADA very much does have animation support.

      True, if you hide the armature it will speed up. This is today still the case in Blender 2.8 and up.

    I followed your instructions precisely, but still, for some reason Blender distorts my animation slightly. Hands of a character look slightly "broken". If I import from Mixamo to Blender in Collada (.dae) format I do not see this artifact.

      Unfortunately when it comes to file imports into Blender it can be nearly impossible to debug.
      There are a few alternative FBX importers available, including one (that is not GPL compliant) that uses Autodesk's own SDK, so you get better compatibility. I would recommend trying it again with that importer. Ironically when I Google'd it for you, I found:

      The textures come from a Mixamo Fuse or Adobe Fuse "OBJ" export option. All you need to do is go to the "File" option on Mixamo or from the Adobe's version of Fuse. Then click Export. This will prepare the textures to be transfered to a file folder on your PC. Make sure to create a folder/subfolder for such so that in the future you can locate the files. Good luck!

      try opening the FBX file in FBX viewer to make sure it's exported correctly. You can download it from Auto desk for free. When exporting from Maximo make sure you didn't export bones only.

      I have opened the in FBX review. It works and nothing missing except the eyelash issues.
      So how can I import it into Blender again ?
