When the fault in our stars came out, i thought it was too fast paced and “okay, okay” was goofy. However, i really like john green as a person, so i spent a few years wondering if it was satirizing teen angst and i was the only person who understood that it’s unserious and everyone took it literally. That definitely wasn’t the case.
i know a lotttt of people who only pretended to like divergent because it was apart of the rebellious kids win wars and overthrow evil systems genre that ruled the early 10s and it was a punishable crime to admit that you don't like some of its representatives 😭 i feel like we as a society as this close to admitting that nobody actually liked divergent
update: i've been watching the first two seasons while taking notes and i'm almost done with season 2. after that i'll have to actually consolidate my notes to film the recap :") it's coming i swear!!!!!
