Superb again 👍 always a thoroughly enjoyable watch...and I reckon these episodes, at around 20 minutes each, are the ideal length to cover the ups and downs of a full season...not too short, not too longgggg! Every club in the country should have a fan like this that produces such a quality round up. Some good players in that side. Forgot that Howard Gayle ended up at Stoke for a few games a couple of seasons after leaving Birmingham ⚽

Thanks very much as ever mate, glad you enjoyed it. Really enjoyed putting that one together as it was a rare good season for us, we were on fire for a spell. Didn't realise that Howard Gayle had been at Birmingham either - another link between the clubs! Unless I'm mistaken, the player on the front of the Birmingham programme on the video looks like Wayne Clarke? He would also join us on loan in 90-91 I think if I remember correctly.
I've done the video editing for the 87-88 season but not the photos yet although my next video is something slightly different from the season reviews, one that I'm sure will go down well with Stoke fans but probably less so with Blues given who is it about??! Hopefully I'll get it on here by next weekend and off the top of my head there is at least 6 Stoke-Birmingham player links going in it.

It was Wayne Clarke. He did well for Blues, albeit in the old Division 2 (today's Championship)...he went on to win a League Title with Everton when we sold him cuz we needed the money (as per usual!). I'm intrigued about your next video then 👍

Thanks for a great bunch of videos. Really well summarised. I love a blast of nostalgia.
It was a shame about the Mick Mills era. He navigated a really hard first season brilliantly and throughout his reign he was dealt some blows with the need to sell.
He wasn't far off and it felt like he was going push on but in the end it was like he couldn't find that final ingredient. Good memories though

Many thanks for your kind words mate, they are very much appreciated. I'm enjoying putting them together but have been so busy in the lead up to Christmas that I haven't been able to do the season after yet. However, I have almost completed a montage of some brilliant memories of the Lou Macari years which I hope to post very shortly. Thanks again and have a good Christmas.

@@boothenendtalers Excellent news. I look forward to your future posts. As for the 89/90 feel free to pretend that didn't happen 🤣
I'll keep a eye out for the Macari years when you have chance.
A very Merry Christmas to you mate 👍

Remember the away match v Brighton & Hove Albion, as it was one of the most abject performances I'd ever seen from a Stoke City team.

There's been plenty of competition for that accolade over the years...!

@@boothenendtalers Indeed, there have been plenty of contenders, but I just seem to recall, even at the time, this performance was just inept and the team lacked any fight. Looking back at my records, George Berry didn't play, Keith Bertschin appears to have been up front on his own, Terry Williams made one of his few appearances for the club, and Paul Crooks made his sole league appearance for the club as a sub, so not the strongest of line-ups put out.
