This is great, two of my favorite UA-camrs in a single video. Couple things though PERHAPS... if a Normal Human was swining these things they wouldn't bend.. or maybe Skallagrim can advise Scott on some quality and reasonably priced real weapons so they don't bend when the biggest dude this side of Appalachia swings them. Seriously Scott is freaking huge.. his mediocre swing is still probably harder than anything I could do as I'm only 6 foot and just shy of 200 pounds. And yeah, maybe one day we can get a video of Skallagrim down in Kentucky testing out some firearms and Scot can swing some real weapons and then they can discuss their experiences and compare in real time. That's it.. Skallagrim and KentuckyBallistics collab.. who else wants this?
A Song of Ice and Fire has a character who miraculously survives getting hit in the head with a mace.........and then suffers disability and chronic pain for the rest of his life because George RR Martin loves giving realistic outcomes to fantasy scenarios
There is another case in GRRMs first Hedgeknight novell where... SPOILER YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED ... the character was hit so badly against the head that the skull was split in half. Everyone around him realized it just after he took off his helmet that kept the pieces together.
That's the thing with wallhangers. They won't make it to a 2nd battle, but the guy that gets hit with it is still just as dead as if he had encountered properly made weapons. The wallhanger part doesn't really help the poor dude getting smacked in the head with a poorly made flanged mace. That skull/neck is still cracking/breaking so.

This is a crossover I didn’t know I needed, but is totally awesome! Would love to see a collab between Skall and Scott
using that flail with that long a chain is... bold
He should have used a nun-chuck to anger Shad.
It hit his hand, but Scott didn't notice
I love that Doug Dimmadome-ass sword, it's one of the funniest things I've seen recently and it's kinda impressive that he could swing it without hurting himself :D
"Poking the bloodbag still makes it pop."
Idk what was more entertaining. Watching Scott mess with medieval weapons or Skallagrim wondering what dollar store pick up bin he found them in XD
“It’s got to be as stiff as possible, otherwise it’s not going to work”
And that’s what she said.
W comment
To his defense, the helmet Kentucky was using is a level 3 ballistic helmet. Its made to protect from small arms handgun fire up to 44 mag. But not rifle calibers. I definitely would like to see you do some testing with some properly made weapons. Honestly, Scott is a really cool guy, I'm betting if you sent him a message and flew down to Kentucky, he would bring you on for some proper weapon testing.
That 9 feet long sword behaves like it's a single handle bandsaw without teeth.
this made me laugh more than it had any right to
It makes me think of those Indian whip-swords.
You can swing it around corners, LOL.
massively under rated comment
@@artor9175 The difference is, that shit actually hits when used by an experienced guy. It also has multiple blades on a single handle and doesn't require much strength due to centrifugal force doing much of the job.
Meanwhile, this is just a flimsy boi
Ive been testing melee weapons vs kevlar for a while, and a better quality blade DEFINITELY performs better.
Though while kevlar armor iften isn't rated for cut resistance, it is usually surprisingly cut resistant.
Skal, you and Kentucky should team up. You "ride the lightning" with some of his behemoth caliber firearms, and Scott getting some proper medieval arms and armor testing with you.
Not sure Skall's shoulder could take a 4 bore or one of the heavier calibers. Still would be good to test the modern armor vs melee weapons and modern weapons vs medieval armor
It would be fun to take Scott on a HEMA journey and watch him learn a new skill. He would be terrifying behind a sword he knew how to use!
@@artor9175 I reckon Scott's a better match for some sort of big heavy blunt-force weapon, to actually use his ridiculous strength - offhand I'm thinking some sort of beefed-up mace switching between one- and two-handed. And yeah totally agreed, he'd be absolutely terrifying with a decent medieval weapon and even a little bit of training in it.
I could see scott pulling a Mountain that Rides if skal hooked him up with the right gear. "Tell me how the grass tastes little man!"
I expected the usual wall hangers, but I couldn't have foreseen fucking Cloud Strife showing up with the floppiest buster sword known to man 🤣
Imagine having to explain how you have bruises on the other side of your body from being noodle-slapped by the barbarian's overly giant sword.
The thing about soft armor is that it doesn't technically stop bullets, it catches them. If a high powered bullet hits soft armor (or even some plates) even if it doesn't break through the armor it will push the armor's material through the target. We've seen this happen on some of Scott's 4-bore videos.
Fast but heavy rounds without penetrator cores or tips have a tendency to knock the stuffing *into* you instead.
And even the plate armor that stopped a .50 BMG, the guy wearing the vest would still just kinda dissolve from the energy transfer.
"The good news is the vest stopped the round. The bad news is your sternum met your spine and they're gonna be together for the rest of your life."
@@griffinfaulkner3514 both seconds of it
Hilarious how Scott is so strong he can just use any weapon as a blunt force weapon
Imagine untrained Scott with a cheap mace TOWERING over your average medieval knight. He'd possibly get killed for no technique but the size and strength disparity is just hilarious and frightening to think about
GRAY KNIGHT SCOTTSUZO

Random knight : "i have been trained since childhood in the arts of the sword, you can't possibly defeat me!"
6ftsmth Scott with a big lump of wood and metal in his hand : "big muscle"
Skall you gotta do this but do it right! The world deserves to see this done with proper weaponry, and you may well be the only man who can deliver such a feat
That giant floppy sword might not cut well, but it will inflict maximum EMOTIONAL DAAAMAGE
Quality commentary! He cuts to his own footage to help futher their points in the video. Instead of relying on someone elses footage for the entire commentary
Thanks. I think it's essential that a commentary / response / reaction video ADDS something, instead of just showing someone else's content and just making faces at it or whatever.
@@Skallagrim Absolutely. That's why I like your reaction videos. Metatron is also great at it. The thing about many reaction videos is exactly that they don't add anything other than a funny face (which may or may not be interesting in itself). They'd probably not pass a copyright claim for fair use to my understanding.
I feel like this is a return to form for you skall you've been on point recently, great stuff.
Man I love Kentucky Ballistics, ever since I first heard about him, that time he almost died because of spiked ammo.
I love when 2 channels I've watched for ages indirectly or directly collaborate.
Not gonna lie, i found the floppy giant SLO quite hilarious to watch even if it's completely ineffectual
i knew this was gonna happen hahha still thanks for making it! KB needs to have you out to the range one of these days, you guys can swap techniques and styles!
Oh hell yeah, I was waiting for this the second I watched his vid. Love both of your stuff. Cant wait😁
Great job on the breakdown and of course I love anything with Kentucky ballistics
I had no idea zombie torsos were that expensive, holy Moses. I'm a big fan of Scott and Skal, like many others I think you guys would make an awesome collab video--sword nerd meets gun jockey. Of course, going down to Kentucky for a week is also going to be expensive--travel and accommodation aren't cheap. However, maybe you can make it work?
That's why sponsors are so important.
I mean he had Eddie Hall on a video all the way from England
Right!?! My mouth literally fell open at that pricetag!
@@DevineDumbass Eddie Hall is the living definition of "I do what I want" though, an absolute outlier
I think it would be awesome to have Scott on as guest for a follow-up video!
Scott is awesome. We love Scott round here. This would be a fantastic collab.
Lets not forget what a BEAST Scott is. This is a very strong man. I would love to see y'all collaborate.
as a fan of both channels, this is perfect, something in my brain was screaming the entire time I was watching his video
Scott is an RPG barbarian dropped into the modern world. Great dude. Gotta have some insane constitution to deal with a .50BMG rifle exploding next to his head like he did.
the person getting attacked by the blade at the end probably end up dying from laughter
Hey im sure he had a really nasty welt! That thing slapped pretty hard!
As soon as Kentucky posted that video, I knew it'd only be a matter of time before reply videos started coming.
Great critique, Skal. A lot of people in this comment section don't seem to realize that Scott wasn't trying to be a legit Medieval Martial Artist. Kentucky Ballistics is more of a humorous channel, with Scott bringing out all types of firearms, from normal .22LR to absurdly huge "big game" rifles that could, probably, take out an Apache helicopter. It's a fun channel! Everyone should check it out.
There is no critique about his martial artistry...only about the quality of his chosen tools 🤷
For sure, I wasn't aiming to critique anything anyway. Although the quality of some of the weapons was... concerning. :)
Most of the weapons Scott used are just simple weapons you could of gave a peasant and they could use without much training
A collab of Kentucky Ballistics and Skallagrim would be like a comedy show, but with weapons! Sounds awesome!😂😂
Man, seeing Skall react to a KB video makes me wonder if we're gonna get a Kentucky Roulette video featuring Skallagrim
That would be amazing.
Skall will need to bring real weapons with him to test as well.
Id pay money i actually earned to see that!
"Hmm, well, that was better than expected."
That's what she said.
If they get set up, knock 'em down.
I just love your crossovers with other channels, mate! =]
As soon as I started Scott’s video yesterday and saw the double bladed axe, my “Um, ackshully” muscles were TWITCHING
Skal is the fairest commentator you are going to get in this arena. This definitely needs a collab now. Kentucky seems like a cool guy and I'm sure he would be open to it. You'd have to do the roulette challenge though, the one with Eddie hall had me laughing hard.
I had no freaking idea i needed these two in one video together but damn... Now we need an actual full video with the two.
We need Kentucky vs Skallgrim so we can get to Kentucky X Skallgrim. ☺️
Smallgrimm is gonna fuck Kentucky ballistics?
As someone who is definitely the target for medieval and modern weapon videos, this would be an awesome collab for a video (or several)! Seriously this is a crossover that should absolutely happen.
We need a Skal Kentucky collab for sure
So glad you drew attention to the neck damage with the flail. I watched this earlier and was really hoping he'd notice
My comment on Scott's original video was to test something other than cheap wall-hangers 😉
same
I recommended him some affordable options and my comment got deleted. X'D Didn't even include links.

As much as I love Kentucky Ballistics and still enjoyed the video, when I saw this video, I thought, “Ok, Skall’s so totally doing a video on this-I can feel it in my bones.”. 😂
P.S.: Hey Skall, can you let me know where you got that epic mace from? I’ve been in the market for one, and I’ve never seen one as cool as that one! 😊
The title should have been, "Cheap Shit Found on the Internet vs The Modern Ballistic Gel Warrior (How Lethal are Mall Warrior Weapons?)
That would have worked better. Because that was absurdly ridiculous.
Me thinks people are taking the original video far too seriously
@@ShadeszOfficial "Me thinks people are taking the original video far too seriously"
I had trouble determining whether it was meant to be parody or not.
The absurdities just piles up, but at the same time, there's nothing directly suggesting it.
Skal is making a reply video so like I said, this youtube business tactic works.
@@DIREWOLFx75 If you're familiar with Scott's videos, you know that he's basically a giant kid, and everything is just for fun.
Just wanted to say thank you for a quality video! I'm a big Kentucky Ballistics fan, and a medieval and fantasy nerd. I was anxious about watching this as i feared you might lamblast him for his ignorance of the weaponry or his tomfoolery video style, but you did NONE of that, and i appreciate that. You kept the video on point and highly entertaining! Fantastic content my guy!
"i want that one, the big one. how do you call that?"
"ahh you have good taste, thats the Wet Noodle sir"
I saw the Kentucky Ballistics video soon after it posted, and was just waiting to see some video responses to it. I have to say, this response video was fantastic!
I tried to link it to some people to see if they'd respond, but my connection took a crap, and I couldn't do anything. But I figured plenty of people would be sending it along, and I was right.
Thanks bro, very nice react.👍😎 See you next time. (We need a meet up Scott and Skall.)
This is the collaboration I didn't even know I needed. I hope you guys can actually make some content together!
I follow this guy and I was just WAITING for this response!
So was I. I get that Scott was not taking it 100% serious. He does the comedic on that channel.

I knew that one of you guys would make a video about this when I watched it the other day! I watch KB all the time and while he is indeed an "expert" with fire arms, he has zero experience with these types of weapons and his technique shows it. I also immediately recognized the poor quality of the weapons he is using and I knew that would also be a point of contention. I do agree with alot tof the people on here in thinking that a collaboration between you two would be a great video. Scott does alot of those types of videos.
Scott is an awesome guy and I think a collaboration would be absolutely EPIC.
I have been waiting for this video ever since KB published his.
This is great, two of my favorite UA-camrs in a single video.
Couple things though
PERHAPS... if a Normal Human was swining these things they wouldn't bend.. or maybe Skallagrim can advise Scott on some quality and reasonably priced real weapons so they don't bend when the biggest dude this side of Appalachia swings them.

Holy floppy swords, Batman! This calls for a collab!
love the commentary as always Skall!
11:11 - Dude has a history of stuff blowing up in his face.
Hel yeah. Thanks for doing the commentary on that because that was just as entertaining as watching Kentucky do the original video.
