    Can this device or another send location coordinates at a minimum rate of 1 per second instead of 1 per minute

      That is a great question.

    Hello question regarding T-1000 A. Is this tracker true GPS, or will it only track and give location with a Gateway? Can I put the tracker on my dog, let him run free and I see his movements on the App or platform sitting on the couch?

    • @ShotokuTech
      @ShotokuTech  Місяць тому

      The assumption is there are one or more gateways is my understanding. Thanks.

      @@ShotokuTech Thanks for your replay. So basically, this tracker will not track and locate without the gateways.

      @@tracetrace-qv5ky Correct. The tracker only has LoRa, WiFi, BT. No connection to the internet. They are coming out with a Meshtastic version. That would be a less expensive gateway than this SenseCAP gateway. It would remove the need for internet altogether.

    Thanks for showing us your experiences ! Wonder what distance you can seperate the Gateway and the tracker ? If its only a few hundred feet not too useful to have the GPS tracker functionality. With the right antennas and environment it could be miles. This is a solution looking for a problem, maybe parking, warehousing or asset tracking ? Looking forward to seeing how you use it in your rockets.

      Hello. I live in an adobe block home, thick adobe bricks. I placed the antenna near a window and took my dogs for a walk. The route is 1/4 mile square. It tracked me the entire way. There were plenty of obstructions in the way, an entire subdivision was blocking line of site. I also took it in my car for an errand. Again, my own dwelling and an entire subdivision in between and the device is inside my car and I got a fix more than a half mile away. So in an industrial setting or with better antenna placement, I'm sure I could do much better. The gateway I have is and indoor unit, so I want to put the antenna in the highest point in the attic. That will get it out from behind the adobe block.

      @@ShotokuTech So it could be useful for some tracker applications if the GPS readings can accurately map where it has been and where it is currently (Im guessing youll try that to find the rockets, as well as trigger the beeps). Doesnt look weatherproof so probably not a pet tracker but might be interesting to put in a harness on a cat to map its territory? Components seem good value to set up a small tracker system ($40 for each sensor and $99 for the gateway), especially if the sensor battery can last several months. Nice to see you having fun with this project !

      @@Alex000113 It does keep a history of every message in the portal, so you can retrace your journeys. I just checked and they say it has IP65 waterproof protection. You know how kickstarter is, you get updates. Seeed Studio was showing all the abuse they put the product through, like baking a batch of them in an oven. LOL. I think they really are focused on delivering a good product. The downfall for me is it is only updating once a minute. With Heltec and LilyGo Lora boards, I can easily do once per second. Many rocket flights are over in a minute or two. But I just bought a long burning I40 motor to fly possibly the highest flight I have ever done, I don't have a rocket for it yet. But I intend to build one around this motor to maximize the altitude. Our regular launch site only allows 5,000 feet. But Agua Blanca might open up 10,000 feet. I got a lot to do in 2024!

    Hi thanks for making this video. I purchased a t1000-B a month ago. I see you get the geolocation immediately in the portal. I'm not able to see that in my portal or app. What am I doing wrong you think? Can't find a troubleshooting on this one..

      I think you need a gateway. If someone in your vicinity has a gateway you are good.

      Hi@@ShotokuTech thanks for getting back to me. I've connected my device to a LoRa network in my country with pretty tight coverage. I thought I could immediately see GPS location in the app, but sadly it says 'no data available'. I've contacted Seeed, so will see if I get any further then.

    Great vid. When you start doing some field testing give the Helium LoRaWAN network a try. It's cool to be able to connect through any other gateway out there.

      Thanks. That sounds interesting! SenseCAP does the same, but they may not have the footprint Helium does.
