The game devs didn’t have to add that second part of the song when the 3rd phase began, but they did. The voice actor (Augustin Chemelle) didn’t have to go so hard with singing this song, but he did! Nintendo and Ubisoft didn’t have to collab and make one of the most surprising successes in video game history, BUT THEY DID! This is why I like this game, they somehow combined so many elements to create something amazing. It’s like combining white bread, bananas, and Spam and it makes a masterpiece of a sandwich.

I would also like to mention that Vinesauce himself said that he wanted a whole game about Phantom. I totally agree with him. Phantom would make a great main villain, full of musical talent, fourth wall breaks, and a whole lot of sass. I bet he would even have Princess Peach in his clutches in an attempt to serenade her and sweep her off her feet!
I was floored when he started speaking actual words. I was also floored when he was given a second verse before his 3rd phase. I loved this boss fight, and when I died to him, I was glad because I could hear his songs again.
This song and the rest of the music in the game was written and composed by Grant Kirkhope, who was also responsible for the music in DK64 and the Banjo-Kazooie games, making him one of the very few American composers to ever have the honor of working on a Mario game.
Which is even more brilliant that the way he antagonizing Mario and try to get Peach like him seem likely to take element of Erik'way to get Christine Daaéand and antagonizing Vicomte.
My favorite thing about this game is that when we heard about it the first time, everyone complained that no one wanted it. And I mean NO ONE. This game should have never worked, but it did, somehow. Why does this game work? It shouldn't, but it does. And I'm happy it does.
I still can’t comprehend to this day how this game, under no circumstances it should have worked but somehow they made one of my favorite games of 2017

This is basically a family-friendly version of the Sloprano. When I first saw this game I thought a Mario/Rabbids crossover was the dumbest idea ever... but... seeing this now... now I kind of want to play it...
Yeah, honestly, I expected this to be something Nintendo would refuse to acknowledge in a couple months. And yet, the gameplay is fun, the characters are entertaining, it's challenging and fair, the actually made the rabbids funny, *I'm fully aware of what I just said,* and I'm legitimately looking forward to its sequel
we didnt see rabbid kong die in the end of his boss fight, and he came back as a dlc and we also didnt see phantom die in the end of his boss fight either (pretty sure he "acted" his death) , so there might be a chance that this legendary dude makes a comeback in the future, thats what i really hope
1:18 fun fact: sometimes Mario doesn't load in here for this reaction shot. You can actually see the glitch for a frame or two in this video, where Mario is quickly spawned in on-screen instead of off-screen. I had to show this scene to my family and friends so I watched it play out several different times and one time Mario was not seen at all for the whole song. I think it's based on a timer and it only does one attempt to spawn Mario in to each scene but doesn't fix itself if game lag or other weirdness throws off the timing of the in-engine cutscenes. It does one body load in and then the rest is face parts that load in on top. So I saw floating eyes, and other moving parts but not the rest of the body.
I have a feeling if we get another smash either a rabbid or rayman will join and maybe they could replace palutenas guidance with phantom's roasts or something.
With Phantom back in the Rayman DLC for Sparks of Hope, it wouldn't be a surprise if we get one or two musical numbers of him roasting Rayman like he did with Mario. Edit: I was right.

My favorite thing about this game is that when we heard about it the first time, everyone complained that no one wanted it. And I mean NO ONE. This game should have never worked, but it did, somehow. Why does this game work? It shouldn't, but it does. And I'm happy it does.

1:18 fun fact: sometimes Mario doesn't load in here for this reaction shot. You can actually see the glitch for a frame or two in this video, where Mario is quickly spawned in on-screen instead of off-screen. I had to show this scene to my family and friends so I watched it play out several different times and one time Mario was not seen at all for the whole song. I think it's based on a timer and it only does one attempt to spawn Mario in to each scene but doesn't fix itself if game lag or other weirdness throws off the timing of the in-engine cutscenes. It does one body load in and then the rest is face parts that load in on top. So I saw floating eyes, and other moving parts but not the rest of the body.
This is defiantly one of the most funniest forth wall breaks IN THE HISTORY OF MARIO GAMES! XD
