Anyone can talk about how to be a 3D Artist, but this feels very honest and hands-on without focusing too much on your personal view of things. Thank you, a very inspiring channel you have there Sir!

Ty I really needed to hear some of this, especially 6:53 about Comparison and also 7:56 about making it a hobby, without (I'm guessing) feeling too stressed about it.

I’m an animation student that quickly fell in love with the vision of modeling, texturing, and placing environmental assets in my own world. I’ve struggled with achieving my personal goals in this art form because my fundamentals are poor, both from my lack of understanding some concepts as well as my undergrad program not focusing as much on topology rules and good modeling techniques.
After speaking with several self taught modelers who have quickly surpassed my skill I have felt down and useless all day. I looked up “why is 3D modeling hard”, soon realizing I was asking the wrong question. In this video I remember you mentioned to not look at other artists’ work and compare your own as it can make you feel bummed out. After hearing you say that I thought about how I felt looking at other junior artists and the time it took them to finally get to where I want to be. I told myself “I’m not gonna give up” over my phone and began asking different questions about fundamentals I don’t understand.
Finding a mentor has been really tough but I’ll figure this out. Come hell or high water I’ll meet my goals and have the skills to make better goals than before. Preciate the pep talk.

Thank you so much for this... I just got a graphics tablet to get into 3d blender animations and design.. I've been comparing other works and have been feeling like my progress is too slow.... I almost gave up.. But with this video, I've gotten all the motivation I need. Thanks again

I've had Blender for a good while, but I think I can finally start to narrow down where I want to go. I've managed to make small steps toward animation using an X-Wing banking thru a canyon, some hard surface modeling, particle systems. I can sculpt but rigging is beyond me at the moment. Also, I've just been introduced to city builder and the cable cam and having a pretty good time. Now I have to find that video on who my potential clients might be.
