WOW!!! So informative. I'm just trying to get use to my Cricut. A friend suggested getting the Cricut Joy to start off with. Well, I'm old, and I literally, need someone holding my hand. My son and his wife have been doing that for me, whenever they can, but they live out of town. Question 1 - so I only clean the mat when it's no longer sticky or more do it more often than that? Question 2 - When you say a blank, are you referring to the material that we're going to use the vinyl on? I see so many ways that I can use my Cricut, just need the confidence (remember, I'm old, not ancient, just old - tee-hee).
I have tried baby wipe, however when I do with a little bit with dawn dish soap and baby wipes. Comes out much better. The hobby lobby mats are great too. I feel they last longer.
Huh? I've cleaned my cricut mats with Dawn more than just 2 times before cutting up to use for my die cutter or holding cards in place. I enjoyed the rest of the ideas you shared, Tanner!
I always struggle with the print and cut sizes and think I will use the last shape size for keeping my design inside for a print and cut design. I also wish I knew how to set my cutting mat to default to 12 x 12 instead of always having to change the mat size from 12 x 24 to 12 x 12 when I go to make my project.
I have a big problem with my cricuit maker it's not feeding the mat into the machine at all light flashes done all relevant checks ie checked cricuit is connected yo blue tooth via my Android phone done all trouble shoots I found on UA-cam done everything possible that I have read or watched even bought new mat but still haven't sold issues no red light no damage so if you can help me I would love your input tried phoning customers services but in the UK not open Saturday please help?
I probably clean my mats 5-7 times before tossing them. I spray them with window cleaner and then use baby wipes, dry with my heat gun and put the plastic covers back on. I finally bought new mats the other day when I noticed the green ones weren't working even with copy paper. 😆😆😆
You do not need access to use cricut. Just have to pay for stuff if use an access only font or image. I only use the free stuff, & get items elsewhere too, to make what want.
Look up "how to add svg's to cricut design space". Makers gonna learn have videos showing how to do that. When you learn that you will realise you don't need to pay for design space
Thanks!

Nice job, Tanner. Your advice on burnishing the project is perfect. No one likes their projects literally coming apart at the seams.
Thank you!
Thanks so much for the BLANK tip. I'm a cricut newbie and you're saving me so much grief. 😊
I hated my Cricut until I started watching many many videos.

working with vinyl and weeding - the number of times it has gone sideways is too many to mention - will give your suggestion a go and see what happens
I am eager to use the shape the size of the blank to align my designs.
Thanks for the information. I'll be using some of the tips you shared.
You're welcome!
Thabk you, TANNER
When you add the blank shape to Design Space will other images go on top of the blank okay ?

I honestly never burnish htv. I put it on, and smooth with my hand. Bad habit, right?
I have the venture, and after it cuts two mats, I get a red light and it says to unplug and replug in
Help I cancelled my cricut subscription now all my projects are marked as private when I created the files
What is a Cricut Blank?
What is a Cricut Blank someone please define?
A blank is what you are going to put your design on, s/a a t shirt or mug.
My mistake. Not burnishing after cutting. Not cleaning my blade.
According to the comments around the internet, cricut is not all that helpful. Just sayin’. 🌹
I have always had great help with my cricut.
@joanneurbanski260 I have too. They've helped me until the problem is resolved.
I always let them call me back.

Yeah, but I don’t understand why you guys talk like that.
@@andreeaflonta5917 I still don’t know what you’re talking about 🤣
I just wish I can use my circuit without a subscription! 😡

I didn't subscribe for years. Use the free stuff, make your own SVG's etc
