- It's quite challenging to make a perfect continuous recording as I either had to focus on the issue, or began to run out of stamina towards the end. I made 3-4 recordings, and this is the 2nd last one, as the last had too many issues! I have done much better than in this video when the pieces are played individually. I wasn't too happy with my own performance and wasn't expecting much. Nonetheless, huge thanks to the examiner for still giving me an A+!
Here are the remarks I received from the examiner. It's private and personal but I'm sharing it here, and I hope it's helpful for most of you!
Piece 1: List B - Introduction and Allegro Spiritoso - SENAILLÉ, J.
A secure start with a well chosen tempo.Try for longer phrases. Allegro Spiritoso: a very spirited tempo and very well executed. The change of tempo was well done as were the final bars. A very good rendition of this piece!
Piece 2: Own choice - Study No. 37 - Bordogni M
A very good opening phrase played very musically. Strong rhythmic pulse in the the next section and technically very well done. Excellent control is demonstrated throughout this study and it was played with sensitivity. Well done!
Piece 3: Own choice - Study No. 36 - Bordogni M
Another secure introduction and good tempo. The music is phrased in the appropriate style. Intonation is very good as is the overall technique. Once again very well presented!
Piece 4: List A - Study No. 34 - Bordogni M
A fine introduction with a suitable tempo and musically phrased. Notion is secure and intonation is very good. Played very well with confidence.
Piece 5: List C - Sonata - BEVERSDORF, T.
1. A convincing introduction. Very well articulated and phrased. Tempo is well chosen. The legato section is musically played. Next section articulated firmly as required with very accurate pitching. You pay good attention to the varied changes of tempo and style. Also there is a good partnership with the piano accompaniment.
2. You demonstrate a good understanding of the style required in this movement. Once again very notation and dynamic contrasts. Well done overall.
3. A very definite opening, again very well articulated with secure metre and notation. You maintain the intensity required to the very end of the movement. Well done
General Remarks
