This Piggly Wiggly grocery store has been at the top of my list for a while. The store closed in December 2016 and everything was left behind. Right before it closed my family bought some groceries here and the store had an awful smell throughout and multiple leaks in the roof. Shortly after the store closed the surrounding area smelled strongly of rotting flesh, I hope they didn't leave more behind than meats the eye.....

Keep in mind, they didnt leave EVERYTHING. If they did this would be so much worse.

Haha, yes! Piggly Wiggly was the first grocery store to have self checkout. They're still alive and well, mostly in the southern U.S. Thanks for watching!

My uncle works in a piggly wiggly here in northish Georgia near Atlanta. The store is still goin strong, even though they aren't that much here
Piggy wiggly is a store that belongs to the food giant company along with sureway and market place. My town has sureway and market place.
Dude vacant places like this scares me because there is no info about it open and mainly it being the type of dark that makes the abandoned place kinda creepy, also mainly how the signs look! It is weird they didn't remove the sign. The buildings in of that make me feel this way is my vacant econofoods in my town, Joliet's abandoned chuck e cheese's my towns vacant Walmart that got turned into dollar tree, five below, Marshall's, pets smart and harbor freight and this. 0:57 poor piggy:(.

C&S wholesale/Bi-Lo bought out Piggly Wiggly including there huge warehouse in Summerville SC back around 2015. They changed all of them around here to Bi-Lo stores and the ones that were independently own they let them keep using the name Piggly Wiggly. As there leases ended they all closed down rather then renew the lease. We actually have one left in operation here and the other 5 the buildings are sitting empty with nothing but the label scars.

Our town had a Piggly Wiggly, which went out in the early 90's. Our Kroger store moved in to it's building. Then when Kroger went out in about 2014, Piggly Wiggly came back. But due to some bullshit pricing they had, the store closed it's doors.

$2.00 Gas. I haven't seen that since 2006.
It was $2.10 here(SC) as recently as Jan.2021.
@@richardpatrick2852 That was the middle of the pandemic. It dropped to $3.00 where I was at that time. Then immediately shot up to $6.00-$7.00 when the Ukraine War started.
@@Terrakinetic Gas prices had been under $3 here since 2018. So-called pandemic was not a huge factor in changing people's driving habits here, except at the very beginning.
Why not give it to the people than letting everything rot inside and later become a health hazard to everyone in the community ???
