The south south and the south east governors should team up together and fix their regions
It is well beyong time that we do this. WE have too much talents, resources, and similarity in culture and attitude to allow our resources and opportunities to go to waste. We collectively need to move our monies and resources back to South south and South east. With governors like Otti and Fubara, etc we have true sons of the soil that are not servants to thiefnubu and his ppl. We need to be exporting and importing directly from other African countries like Cameroon, etc that are close to us and are similar in many ways to us.
I hope these governors will agree to collaborate together to develop the entire Southeast and Southsouth for the benefit of the entire region. Please, wake up and collaborate.

The heading to the post is myopic yet the interview with SAN Agbakoba was interesting and the other gentleman. We speak to denigrate a person and forget we all played a part in making the country called Nigeria. A better way to word your narrative should have been "Heavy congestion at Lagos seaport, another seaport is imminent Lawyer Agbakoba speaks". The election is over, it is time for nation-building! As to the topic: Another seaport will be nice based on the scale of commerce in Nigeria and the scale of impact to Western Africa. Porthacourt port needs to be re-visited to upgrade security and infrastructure to be standard. "This will require a political will, a detailed plan, and a Gov that wants to have a legacy!" SAN Agbakoba. The blueprints are there; however, there hasn't been a political will to actualize the objective.

When Lagos was the capital of Nigeria. It enjoyed the monopoly of being the major seaport in Nigeria. Now, there's no need for traders from the South East to buy items and move them by road. When you don't have good roads and you also have to think of road pirates. It'll also benefit Lagos state. Because traders can still buy items from Lagos and ship it. So it makes more sense, and it removes congestion at Apapa port.

The eastern governors should do something
We should support seaport in all the riverine areas to link for international trade especially ocean terminal like the One port I wrote to Akwa State in 2001 to save our road durability even we supposed to use waterways transportation from all the southern states ,
If the in incoming ship fail to sail down to the south east then the south east governors should buy a ship that will apply from Lagos to south east port.
South East governors should have a Dev Agenfa for SE.

And the seaport issue in not a federal issue. Lagos state government is finishing 2nd sea port. Ogun, Ondo state, Oyo (dry port) are all in the process of finishing their state owned ports.

This issue of clearing goods at seaports and airports is outdated and needs to be upgraded to modern ways thus creating more jobs for graduates. I know the answer to how clearing job positions can create thousands of jobs with the Nigeria post office as it is done in Western countries.

UK and USA have heavy investments from the Chinese,Arabs and Europians yet UK and USA still own the resources. Building seaport in South East is very easy if federal government can approve it, theirs seaport in Portharcourth, calabar, Warri including Onitsha none of them is working except Lagos, whenever I sent my goods from Malaysia to parthacout, it will took 3 weeks or 1 months to arrived Lagos, then from Lagos to parthacourt 3 months, any time partharcourt container from abroad arrived Lagos, the port authority in Lagos will delay the containers before it arrived parthacourt, their agenda is to frustrate parthacourt seaport due to huge amount of money they are making from Lagos seaport that's why they don't want others seaport to operate, last destination of all the containers from parthacourt seaport is Onitsha in Anambra state, did you know theirs seaport in Onitsha Anambra state which was built during Shehu shagari regime, go and verify about the seaport in Anambra state,
