  • The best places to see autumn leaves in Osaka are at Minoh (aka Minō or Minoo) Park and Kyuanji Temple in Ikeda. You also have the added benefit of the famous Minoh Waterfall as a backdrop against the picturesque Japanese maple leaves. Both of these places make a great day-trip from Osaka city.

      Thank you! October is a bit early for the autumn leaves. It's usually around late November. Have a great trip!

    Ohh, I really like the second location! So much peace and quite :) and the leaves are gorgeous! I'm really surprised it's not more popular. Gonna check it out this upcoming autumn for sure.

      Thanks for watching, Alyse! Yeah, we preferred Kyuanji too. I think it might be busy during the momiji festival day? 🤷‍♂️
      We were a bit underwhelmed by Minō actually. We were a bit too early. But the waterfall was also not as amazing as I'd expected from the photos.

      Haha, the one time we tried to go to Mino, the path to the waterfall was closed because of the typhoon a few weeks earlier. That unfortunate thing is they had no says or updates on the website to inform everyone. It was only like...once you left the station they had a big sign out front with the sad news 😂😂😥

      That's a real shame. That's classic Japanese communication for you. 😂

    Loving that slow mo stuff Lin, looks awesome and the colours in some of these shots are amazing! The colour grade overall on this vid was great, really set the vibe and worked, but there are some shots in here that just made us go WOW! Digging that jacket too dude, very cool 😎

      Thanks so much, guys! Really appreciate all the lovely feedback. I'm happy with the colour grade also. I think I found a great LUT that I can stick with. And I love my jacket too. 😁

    I remember watching this video when I first found out I was moving to Minoh for the JET Programme - Today I ran from my apartment in Minoh up to the Falls and it was absolutely stunning.
    This is such a well shot video, thank you so much for making me feel like I was there before I was even there. Looking forward to prime-time autumn! 😁

      That's awesome you got placed there. Thank you so much for the kind words. It's going to be amazing in autumn!
      If you can, try and check out the other places along the Hankyu line during autumn.
      This year, I want to hit up Arima Onsen in Kobe.

    Wow! Amazing video Lin. You've really pushed your video editing skills to the next level. It's amazing!
    I think both sites were beautiful. The natural beauty of the first stop vs the amazingly manmade construction of the temple and its grounds on the second stop. It's nice the temple was quiet and seems like a place you could meditate and be reflective. Amazing 😊✌

      Thanks, Taj!
      Both places were indeed beautiful. Minoh is really famous for its waterfall but it was super crowded and I actually preferred the autumn leaves at Kyuanji.

    loving the slowmo :D - looks like it looks fine lin :D ouu the momiji tempura :D.. never knew you could tempura a leaf :P hahaha -
    australian animals :D ! perfect for someone from perth right.. seriously the colours of the leaf is just wonderful! autumn is just as wonderful as cherry blossom season.. just spectacular!

    • @linnyunt
      @linnyunt  5 років тому

      Thanks, yeah the slow-mo exported fine. It was a bit random about the Aussie animals. Fun fact, they have statues of wombats around the town.
      Spring in Japan is famous around the world for its cherry blossoms but autumn is less well known. But the Japanese love it for same reasons as in the video.

    Oooooo damn Lin the colours at that kyuanji temple was epic! loved all the maple leaves and also how quiet it is. Definitely would go there thanks for exposing the secret spot hahaha. We've been to Japan in winter and April still need to do autumn cause the colours look so pretty.

    Ahh.... Koyoh 紅葉! Autumn maple leaves turn red! Ginko leaves turn yellow ! Ahhh... I miss that! Oh, I'm curious, your hairs fell off because fall season???

    • @linnyunt
      @linnyunt  5 років тому

      It is very beautiful. The haircut was incidental to autumn. Now that it's winter, I regret that decision.

    What was the date of this visit? Just timing my trip for peak 🗻. Thanks.

    • @linnyunt
      @linnyunt  4 роки тому +1

      This was November 25th but it's so fickle and hard to predict peak foliage. The forecasts, just like for cherry blossoms get published but aren't guaranteed. Have a great trip!

    Which did you like best, Minoh or Kyuanji?

  • @ctokita
    @ctokita 5 років тому +1

    That’s a hard question. Minoh looked a lot more crowded than Kyuanji, but a lot more food choices. I think I would go for Kyuanji for more peaceful touring.

    • @linnyunt
      @linnyunt  5 років тому

      If autumn leaves are your priority, I'd definitely go with Kyuanji. The trees were much more prominent in autumn colours.
