Absolute hero. Had the exact same problem and turns out the bushings on the cable is knacked. Glad it decided not to shift just as I was leaving home and I could do this to get back as I could have had a major accident.
Open the bonnet and unclipped the shift wire, then disconnect them from the gear, but make sure u mark them before disconnecting from the gear so you can adjust them with the new wires good luck
thanks a lot. i tried do the replacement today but when i finished install the new cable than find out the gear box is too tight, it's hard to go gear 1-6. especially gear reverse that can't go. any suggestion for me please?@@DimzogNIP
Nop once i replace them so far I have done about 15000 miles not having any problems and this is not the original one is the one from ebay so far so good 😊
I have the same problem. Every morning 30mints struggle then go in gears. And i chang gearbox clutch and master cylinder 7time but same problem .i change 3 mechanic but no body know whats the problem is?
Did you try to change the gearshift wires, that's why I am not using mechanics any more they are the biggest scammers out there they haven't fix the problem and still wants to charge you.
I have vouxhall insignia and when releasing clutch and starting to drive my gear lever is moving forward and back good this be a problem with gear box linkage
Hope that helps, I know that feeling when something go wrong and u have to go for repair can be expensive ;) I aways prefer to fix it my self if not able plan B garage time lol

Thanks for the video, it helped me a lot
I got the same problem right now. May I ask you how to take off the old shift wires please?

It's not a problem. Just adjust the cable from the gearbox either you have done the new wire too short or too long
Would of been helpful to see how you changed them
Hey man, great video. Did your loose cable cause any knocking noise when accelerating and decelerating or changing gear? Thank you.
