    Did you have to flash freeze the halibut first?

      Not for this one, it was a smaller fish and I used lemon juice but now I freeze all my fish for at least 7 days at -11 deg F.

    Just FYI, your fish should be frozen before eating raw to ensure any parasite larvae are killed, particularly anaskid nematodes.

      Thanks for pointing that out. Yes, I freeze all my fish now before using eating it raw. Back then I thought using the lemon juice would be enough to make it safe, but now I just error on the safer side and freeze it for at least a week.
