Layzie Bone breaks down how Eazy-E was almost E-Bone. He explains all the opportunites Eazy-E provided to Bone Thugs. Eazy-E was almost added to the group as E-Bone.
TLDR: The key idea of the video is that Eazy-E's management deal and financial contributions kept Bone Thugs-n-Harmony together, but money and control over their music caused conflicts, highlighting Eazy-E's unselfishness and executive vision in the music industry.
FULL EPISODE AUDIO: podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast...
1. 00:00 💰 Eazy-E signed a management deal that eventually led to a 50/50 split with his record label, Ruthless Records.
2. 01:21 💰 The group initially operated under a majority rule system, but as they gained money, individuals began to prioritize their own desires, causing the group to lose cohesion.
3. 03:11 📺 Eazy-E recognized the unique and groundbreaking nature of Bone Thugs-n-Harmony's music, but noticed inconsistencies and questionable records along the way.
4. 04:30 💰 Eazy-E's financial contributions kept the group going, but money also caused conflicts and divisions, yet their strong family bond and shared upbringing in the Glenville area helped them stay together and stand the test of time.
5. 06:20 💰 Artists who didn't have good contracts for their first albums are now free agents and can reclaim their masters, but they have to go to court and get a lawyer to do so.
6. 07:25 📺 Eazy-E gave his group 100% freedom in the studio, but after his death, others tried to control their music.
7. 08:47 🎤 Eazy-E wanted to create new music instead of being forced to recreate the success of "Crossroads."
8. 09:47 🎵 Eazy-E's unselfishness and executive vision solidified his role as a visionary in the music industry, allowing his producers to work with other artists and releasing his group's album instead of his own, while also achieving success with NWA and JJ Fad.
8.1 Eazy-E allowed his producers to work with other artists while he focused on handling business and would listen to their music, sometimes liking it and sometimes not, but he always encouraged them to write their own verses.
8.2 Eazy-E's decision to put his own album on hold and release his group's album instead showcased his unselfishness and executive vision, solidifying his role as a visionary in the music industry.
8.3 Eazy-E released NWA and also had the ability to release JJ Fad, which was his first platinum album and featured various unique artists.

Other than Wu-Tang ,Bone Thugs-N-Harmony had one of the most biggest influences on me I would never cut my hair because of these dudes💯
Overall bone thugs were better In Every way. Wu tang was overrated as a group they had so many guys and don’t have hits like that
@@dmar5714 True they kind of stayed faithful to their core fans on the underground music tip
Mario Van Peebles produced the " Wu-Tang: An American Saga" series
Bone should reach out to him, we need a Bone Thugs N Harmony series like that one
Nah these producers be fucking legendary niggaz biopics up. Then the new generation really be thinking iconic Niggaz was really wack like these movies be. Look at the Tupac biopic. A total disgrace to his legacy
Idk if people understand, unless u grew up in the 90s. When Bone came out, EVERYBODY was playing that. East and West
I’m from down south Houston Tx & bone was our shit
RIP HEAVEN EAZY E AKA E BONE THE COMPTON OG
Dr. Dre had Eazy killed from an injection with aids real talk research it…
😅😅😅😅layzie's crazy, they was gonna name Eazy E ,E bone😅😅😅😅 I'm all for it ,easy e was bumping on that foe the love of $ song
😂 that would of suited him for him for sure , everybody give it up for E bone
E-BONE WOULD'VE BEEN DOPE ASF 4 EAZY-E, IF WOULD'VE BEEN IN BONE THUGS.
Layzie bone was like the business manager of bone thugs 🎉
He was the easy
Ironically, initially I thought Eazy was a BTNH member because I discovered him when I 1st started listening to BTNH music.
I too inly heard of snoop and dre cause of btnh... By proxy w eazy
Eazy was a real man he was signing anyone that had talent. A lot of people probably don’t remember the group “Blood and Abraham” with the song “Niggaz and Jews” w/ Eazy on it! Joint was hard 💯
bruh. .its blood of abraham
Blood of Abraham 👎
@@hmingsangachhakchhuak6240 thanks for correcting me I couldn’t tell if it was “and” or “of” 🤷🏾♂️💯
If you research Ruthless Records, Eazy E had a lot of talent on his label at that time.💯💯💯
And Eastside drama brownside locos
Eazy Bone would of had a better ring to it
Two of my favorite artists in the same interview, Eiht & Layzie….Love it
Still a nigga by Eazy is my favorite of favorites by him.
That beat was crazy
🎵Born n raised 🎵, hell yeah,
RIP EAZY E
Bone thugs and Eazy E were a big part of my life growing up.
For the luv of money with Eazy and Bone is a classic, the first 3 albums and all those soundtrack singles were 🔥

@@Krazy303 Listen to Bone feat. Black hole of Watts
@westlageneral735 yeah I remember that too. Was dope older style Bone like when they dropped in 94
@@Krazy303 💀
I can vouch Lazie is a real nigga. I remember when they tried to make different Mo Thug labels like Mo Thug south, Mo Thug Midwest. I reached out to Lazie to see if they still were doing it, and he reached back out to me personally. Wasn’t his manager, publicist, it was Lazie himself, and he said they weren’t doing it anymore. He even gave me a lowball figure to feature on my song. I just didn’t have the money at the time, but it might’ve been in the low of 1k or lower
Eazy E and Bone Thuggs were always playing on my cassette tape deck or CD player, man I had a good time growing up in the 90s
He should have been named Gangsta Bone. or Eazy Bone
E-BONE WOULD'VE BEEN JUST PERFECT 4 EAZY-E, IF HE WOULD'VE JOINED BONE THUGS!!
@@moeeshangpate6320nah that don't flow a smooth as Eazy
Bone thugs n harmony are the greatest group of all time ⏲️
😂😂😂😂U TRIPPIN'!! THEY DOPE ASF, BUT THEY AIN'T #1 FAM...IT'S N.W.A. & PUBLIC ENEMY ALL DAY LONG BRUUUUHH BRUUUUHH....

Let us know what you think below!
That Caine shirt 🔥..#TL #HH #BTNH4L
Is it my understanding 30 years from each album release is when they can get back their Masters from that specific album ? Like 2024 they will get their masters back for COACU, 2025 E.1999, 2027 AOW etc. ?
Faces of death was hard af
In another time, Easy didn't die and Pac came out with 1 Nation. Big never died and Jay -Z was second to NAZ and AZ.
The Wu Tang is still an Icon.
RIP EAZY-E
I can’t get out my head 3-6 slow dancing to Bones beats during Versuz 😂 I never noticed how lite their production was
😂😂😂
Definitely not a song they should've picked for the vs. Bone is still the better group.
If Eazy E Was Still Alive Him And Bone Thugs would Be in The Same Group I Knew That

I’ll turn them up a little more from now on. I had them way too loud at first and had to delete a lot of them
Wu thang and Bone was big groups that keep it alive .
Money and companies kill groups
Eazy Bone - Pause...🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

After bone they should of held that mo thug crew and layzie and krayzie should of split the paper in the middle and took care of the rest to keep fet on there albums an under the mo thugs label they should of did there solo albums they went to many seperate ways
Love how Bone and BEP stay mentioning each other
4:41 he went to go take care of his kids tho right? Don't leave that part out
He gets it your first contract ain’t shit. You build your own shit that’s when you hitv
Or Eazy-Bone
Layzie already had the first solo song
That's would've been interesting to hear Bone and will
Great interview but it’s in mono, give my left ear a break and make it stereo.
Where is the right speaker output?
Did it get 360 deal as well?
this video was accidentally rendered in mono. Not on the rest of the Layzie Bone videos though
@@SMOOTHCUTPRODUCTION got ya. Thanks for posting this. Layzie is always a great interviewee
Shoulda been Boss-E Bone or Thug-E
a little side note, herman hes talking about owned a record store that bone worked in. he has PALLETS of faces of death tapes there just soaking in water in a abandoned record store in the ghetto. alot of them were returns from stores from simply not working. alot of the faces of deaths manufacturing went bunk for some reason. which does happen. i had a homie who got his cds manufactured from the same place as me. all mine were always fine. he got as box of 1k that kept coming back to him as not reading. last i saw of herman i think hes in atlanta? i saw pics of him a few years ago on his facebook. he still does business and is known but i dont think hes did anything great that i recall after that
Eayzie Bone

You mean Fun-E Bone?
Cleveland got a lot of lil don kings running around here trying to con you
Eazy e wasnt rappin fast enough matter fact he wasnt even writing his own rhymes it was all ice cube
Yeah Cube wrote for Eazy in the beginning. However, he started writing his own shit after N.W.A. broke up !
By 94 E had started to come into his own he began to re-invent himself with Bone before it all sadly came to a quick end
well he never really wanted to rap in the first place but he did write his own when they broke up
Seems like you don't know the history ....cube was writing E verses but after Cube left the group it was The D.O.C. and Dr.Dre....thank me later💪🏾😎🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
WOW !.Did you figure that out all by yourself?
Gorilla 🍖
Bone owes 70% percent of it's success the Ruthless Records art department and great promotion. When we were kids we really thought these guys were mystic, evil and other worldly...low and behold, they're just 5 hillbillies from Ohio...I wasted much of my childhood.
That's your own fault
Creepin on ah come up was so good when it came out, there wa no stopping these guys. If Ruthless hooked up those beats, then yes they deserve a lot of credit
You're dead wrong... they weren't only the image, they had the talent and skill to match the art and promo, so basically the art was based off of the great music they were making! Probably a 50/50 or to be honest even 60/40 situation here. These dudes were no simple "hillbillies" like you say, they were raw talent! Bone is the greatest!
RIP Eazy-E 👑
EAZY BONE, they were ment to be with eazy e they aura and eazy has that squeaky voice like them. It was ment to be
