30 years later, Menace II Society is still revelant to Urban American life present-day. When people complain about drill music and "these kids", this is where it came from. Elders shouldn't blame the kids for what happened before the kids were born.

It's hard to do right when all you see is wrong. This goes for everyone, in or out the hood. I can't believe people didn't see the movie for what it was, a morality tale. Hell, if the final line in the movie didn't get you, you're already lost. Better than Boyz N The Hood imo, but both were great.

I would drive down Broadway with my mom and dad and see a bunch of gangsters servin .Wearing KSwiss , Chucks , LA Gear amongst other shoes but those were mainly what I saw . Wearing jeans (creased) , white T’s (creased) and tucked in . Dodger hats and gats that were exposed because the cops were not going in there anytime soon . I watched Menace after Love Jones, Fresh Prince episode, and Dead Presidents. It was strange for me to see Larenz as Odog because he always looked innocent and young. I still don’t see him as scary in Menace because of that. He’s not physically intimidating at all.

Or why you were nowhere to be found and absent during the creative and inventive foundation outlining the forms of Black American musical expression, brilliance and greatness throughout any of this or even prior to the 14 or so Black American music forms that are mentioned above. Yet then, all of a sudden--out of nowhere, you folks come along and falsely claim latinos and/or puerto ricans created or co-created Rap and Hip Hop 50/50 half n half (which is the evidence-free and utter nonsense being peddled by fraudsters like derrick colon, radical latino, fat joe and numerous other un-informed and envious latinos. And these of course are claims latinos never mentioned, verbalized or asserted during Rap and Hip Hop's inception during the early 1970's). To this day Menace II Society has been the most impactful "Hood" movie that I've ever seen. The realism of the tragedies in the movie was so on point along with the depth of the characters and internal struggles you saw them try to navigate through. An absolutely brilliant film. The Hood Life ain't no fairy tale!
