I've been with my significant other for MANY years now and we don't celebrate Valentine's Day. We celebrated our anniversary. That day means more to us.
I've been with my hubby for almost 19 yrs now. All this celebration stuff has been done to death and we're both over it lol. He keeps asking me what I want and I keep telling him nothing and it frustrates him lol. So we usually gift each other cards and candy. Sometimes I'll bake him one of his favorite desserts and that makes him happy.
I loved the idea of sending or receiving a card without saying/knowing who it was from. Now I get one every year from my husband who I already know loves me ❤
Your videos are so inspirational Kirsty! You're amazing. I get so motivated to do nail art when i watch them, Thank you for helping keep my creativity alive.
These are really cute! After watching your last vid i got intrigued about the character you was painting, i can now say I'm fully invested in Demon Slayer now, I've been having mini binges here and there!
It's a "Hallmark" day. It is also my birthday so it is doubly silly😉 My hubby however thinks it's great because he says then he can't forget my birthday🤣🙄😁
I always thought it was to say the difference between the little romantic hearts and an actual anatomically correct heart. I may have just made that up, lol
We don’t really do valentines, we usually get each other a card out of obligation more than anything I think! 😂 but my other half is about as romantic as a wet fart! 🙈
I tried the link to the clean-up solution in the description and it's broken! I also can't find it on the site by searching or anything. Are you no longer selling it?
I hated it when I was a kid because I never got anything and then when I was married we would get each other things but we always tried to be romantic throughout the year as well. Now I spend my money buying what my daughter gets for her boyfriend 😂 x
Apparently St Valentine was executed because he was going against the church and marrying people of separate religions. The Catholic church didn't like this and killed him. Also i've heard that it originates from the Pagan Holiday Lupercalia, which was a holiday celebrating fertility in the middle of February. Basically a festival where men stripped naked and make animal sacrifices to help or give thanks for fertility. Lot of holidays are based on Pagan holidays/celebrations.
I haven't finished the video but St Valentine is associated with love because he would marry people despite what society/the families wanted (when you married who your father wanted you to no matter what you thought of the guy)
I like Valentine's day, but not for the "standard reason". Story goes cupid was a mischievous little guy. Ppl mostly were told he shot arrows at 2 ppl to fall in love and be happily ever after. But is you research lore, he actually shot arrows at 2 ppl completely incompatible to be a little stinker and to hang back and watch the "carnage " lol 😂
I don’t believe in Valentines either but there is a Valentines massacre we could celebrate that is real and not just marketing and BS. But I won’t turn away dark chocolate either😉
there were 2 martyrs named valentine.they wouldnt renounce christianity. However valentines day is possibly more associated with the festival of the roman goddess of women and marriage Juno on 15th feb.
A martyr is someone who is persecuted for their faith. The instances you’re talking about is people acting like they’re being persecuted for some noble cause when it’s not one. Most of the 12 apostles were martyrs because they were executed for their faith
Magnificent
I love nails and history lesson from Adam. Bedtime bliss 🙏

I agree! Celebrating your anniversary is important than VDay! Good for you!!!❤❤

I think it’s more special when to something nice on a random day then on Valentine’s Day.

I absolutely adore you and your crew. Incredible talent and you are hysterical 😂❤
the Liqued Crome has completly blown my mind.
I agree. My husband and I have never celebrated Valentine's day. According to him, 'everyday is Valentine's day'. 😂
I agree with your husband! Vday should be celebrated every day and not on a certain day!!😊👍
That red and pink together are so cute!
The red and pink Valentine's day nails are so cute 🥰
That chrome over the red 😍😍 Absolutely stunning work, Kirsty!
It’s St Valentine’s Day and he married young couples in secret because marriage had been banned at the time. ❤❤❤

I like how yall say ‘love heart’ rather than just heart 💜
I always thought it was to say the difference between the little romantic hearts and an actual anatomically correct heart. I may have just made that up, lol
I’d love to see a valentines nail with the neon lights trend
bravo super magnifique kirsty bisous de la france bisous martine 👍👍👏👏💅💅😘🥰❤️❤️❤️🇨🇵🇨🇵💐
I /loov/ this set! 😄
Not a huge fan of Valentine’s Day either. My husband and I get cards but don’t really celebrate it. Love that set Kirsty. The nails are beautiful! 😍
Yep, Valentines Day, bs, I agree 🇦🇺❤️
Why you don’t have more followers I can’t understand…. Beautiful 💅!
Same here lol
We don’t really do valentines, we usually get each other a card out of obligation more than anything I think! 😂 but my other half is about as romantic as a wet fart! 🙈
For our family, Valentine's day is about the candy!
I don’t celebrate Valentine’s Day but I celebrate half price chocolate day on the 15th!
😂😂 same!
I agree... it is a crock! Lol But your nails are definitely not!! 💜💜🩷🩷❤️❤️😂 Those colors are insane! Love!

Kirsty is literally sugarcoating valentines day and I'm all in
Can’t find your product anywhere. Please send me your link to your website.
there you are duckie x www.kirstymeakin.com/
A martyr is killed for their religion or beliefs that is basically standing up
For others as well as himself thus don’t be a martyr ❤️❤️your work
Lol thats what i think about valentines too and im married hahahahahah ❤❤❤❤❤
Valentine’s Day started in Italy.
Saint Valantines..
Heyyyy Kirsty!!! ❤❤ Feb 11th is my birthday, so just call these BooCreamy Birthday Nails!! 😂😂
After 3 months of courting myself and husband have been married for 47 years in September x
Challenge, whatever fact Adam finds next real or not, you have to design a nail around that fact xx
Also patron saint of bee keeping and the plague. My daughter’s favourite piece of useless information
I haven't finished the video but St Valentine is associated with love because he would marry people despite what society/the families wanted (when you married who your father wanted you to no matter what you thought of the guy)
Hallmark started it as a business and marketing ploy

It’s St. Valentine’s Day, in actuality. I don’t know, however, what he is the saint “of”. As far as how it became what it is today, blame marketing.
I looked it up just after posting this comment. He’s the patron saint of Love, unsurprisingly.
Being martyred refers to dying for your beliefs.
Lovely nails but yeah, in nearly 30 years we've never celebrated V day and do not see the point 🥀😝
Saint valentine massacre
I agree. It's a crock of bull. Just another way to stress over something stupid.
First here
A martyr is someone who is persecuted for their faith. The instances you’re talking about is people acting like they’re being persecuted for some noble cause when it’s not one. Most of the 12 apostles were martyrs because they were executed for their faith
Martyr: a person who is killed because of their religious or other beliefs.
"saints, martyrs, and witnesses to the faith"
Yet another pagen festival.
Killed for refusing to deny christ
Valentine’s Day doesn’t make sense to me. You should be celebrating your love every day with meaningful things not just ‘special’ days.
Valentine’s Day is overrated!!!
It’s a money making propaganda
I agree, same as mothers day and fathers day cards
Sooo pretty!!!
