    I don’t think k you guys understand how good Martin Necas is. 65-70 points? He played with Eric Robinson. lol. Playing with Nathan Mackinnon he can be a 85-100 point player. He’s a beast and very similar to Rantanen but cheaper. I hope it goes well for both and I wish them the best. Rantanen should still feast but I think Colorado wins this trade. They just cant seem to draft amazingly with their later picks.

    • @malcolmapplet4313

      I think Necas is good too, but Canes have so many of the same type of player as Necas. Even Guentzel was that same type of player. Rants will shake things up in Carolina. I think both teams did pretty good. But, you never know. Like Laine, all of sudden he's comfortable and has his mojo back.

    • @BullseyeSportsz
      @BullseyeSportsz 9 днів тому +3

      @ necas was the canes best player. It wasn’t even close this year. He might be 26 by now but he’s still very young. He’s entering his prime which could easily be 90-100 points with Mack. The hurricanes will regret this trade in the realm of Necas. I just think they’re similar and Colorado can get the production they need for much less. Necas is under appreciated and people still think he’s a second line winger when he’s a franchise piece. It happened quick but Colorado will make out good in this one I believe

    • @mascardorama6469
      @mascardorama6469 9 днів тому

      @@BullseyeSportszi agree necas is still being underrated by a lot of people who forget he was playing in carolina’s extremely defensive system and still producing the way he was. i think he’ll be a great piece for colorado but i don’t think the canes end up regretting this trade unless they can’t re sign rantanen which i highly doubt since i don’t think tulsky would even have made the trade if they weren’t really sure they’d be able to make it work to keep him around. rantanen and aho combo will feed families

      Necas movement is going to give him playmaking ability that not too many have ever had in the NHL, it is more about the potential than it is immediate gratification. But I understand why this is hard to do, it's necessary and at the same time probably the best trade unless you want someone in their 30s.

I just can't believe this lol, Necas is a stud no doubt and fixes their 2C problem but to trade a top 15, maybe even top 10 player in the entire league for a 90 point ceiling player just seems kinda kookoo. I know Necas has an extra year on his deal but he can walk away in UFA as well the year after. If anything Carolina has the advantage of being able to discuss an 8 year extension now. As for Canes fans, I saw a few of them concerned about Rantanen walking because of what happened with Guentzel last year but this is different. Carolina got a steal for Guentzel as a rental, it was a no brainer for them. I don't think Carolina would part ways with an asset like Necas unless they felt confident they can get a deal done. If Rantanen extends then this is fleece of the decade for sure for Carolina.

    Big trade. Here are my thoughts:
    Colorado: A-. To be honest its way too early to give any of the 2 main teams a real grade yet as we dont really know what the players will look like with their new teams. That being said, your getting younger and just getting more assets with this move. I dont think Necas is that significant of a downgrade from Rantanen while ur also getting Durey who will be a very nice top 4 D for them this year and for many years to come. Your also moving off a 1 year pending UFA. And i believe he was asking for like $13.5m AAV for 8 years? Yeah theres almost 0 chance the Avs are able to build a real contending team around their core guys with that contract. Very good move to trade him now while he still has value. This has been a quiet rebuild from the Avs getting their goalie tandam switched. Getting Middlestat as well along with this.
    Carolina: UND. It's genuinely impossible to give this team a grade yet because to be honest, if they don't win the Cup this year now its a bad trade. Your gonns either have to let him walk as an FA with no Cup, basically meaning you lost 2 long term pieces in Necas and Durey for nothing, or you sign him and now how do you afford to add more? I mean if they don't win the Cup then that means this core needs even more improving and with an 8x13.5 contract, they can't make any substantial moves. Now if they DO win the Cup which I'd stay they now are probably favored to, this is an A+ trade. Your achivement here is to win a Cup from this deal. If they do that this year then its a 10/10 deal.
    Chicago C+. Literally retaining like $4.625m salary on a 1 year deal while you have no means for competing in that stretch doesn't affect you in any way. On top of that, your getting YOUR 3rd which is probably like a top 70 pick in the draft? Not bad at all for doing really no harm to your team. Now losing Hall will hurt a little. I don't love the fact they got nothing for him at all, I mean theres 1 year left. Just resign him this off season for like a 2x3.5 and you automatically can get something. Not like freeing 6 million is big for this team now opening their options for a big name asset.
    Overall: I think Colorado did very well with the situation they were put in. A lot like Florida's Huberdeau deal where they kinda realized that this core just won't work. So they changed it up, made it allow for more flexibility overall and I think will extend their time as a Cup Contender. Carolina too early to judge. But a very boom or bust move. Chicago not magnificent in any way really.

    Hurricanes fan, not happy about this trade. We got nothing we needed and made our problems worse. We needed a center to support Necas because he's been weighed down by Kotkeniemi and Robinson. Now we only have 3 centers and nobody to support Rantenan.
    Necas was on a 100 pt pace this year despite being with linemates who are 4th liners. Rantenan is on the best line in the league, anybody could get 100 pts playing with MacKinnen and Makar.
    This isn't a 1 to 1 trade. Even if it was, it wouldn't make sense because Necas is the point producer on our second line. We still need a 2nd line center. And now we need a second 4th line center because Kotkeniemi is on the 2nd line

    Carolina fleeced the Avs here it goes without saying Rantanen is by far the best player in this trade and sure I get that the Avs might not have been able to extend him so tough spot but value wise this trade is so far off. I don't think the Avs contention window is closed just they got Necas and nothing else it's not even like they got a 1st and a good prospect on top of Necas that they could then flip into another solid player to holster their lineup they just flat out got way worse and didn't really gain much other than future cap space but with the cap going up 5mil + this off season who cares should've just paid up for Rantanen and moved out Girard or 1 of their dmen to bridge the gap
