- In the past, We've put the feelers out to see if Camp Benny followers would be interested in an extended and old throwback deer camp videos from the Michigan Upper Peninsula firearms season at deer camp. I received a good positive response from many (THANK YOU EVERYONE !!) and so I re-edited the old versions and included new footage from each of those seasons. It's amazing to see how much we've grown since this 2008 deer season. Even our hunting strategies and expectations have matured and isn't that just how it goes ? Enjoy this hunt with us as you will see the good and the ugly. A little camp humor too ! Many lessons were learned but most importantly another season was had with family and friends. Deer Camp camaraderie is just the absolute best. If you like the whole deer camp experience and aren't bothered by the fact that giant bucks aren't getting harvested then this is going to be a good watch for you ! I got my first rifle from Williams gun sight. A Remington 308 with a ventilated rib barrel, when I was 16. I still hunt with it today at 64.

Here in Montana if a spike is less than 4” you can put a doe tag on it. The game wardens are pretty lenient on this rule and they give you a little fudge factor on that 4” rule.

Like number 90. Awsome video. I'll never forget that Date. November 15th. We never missed it. We hunted at or cabin in luddington. I bet you remember back in the day , we had to hunt on the ground. Tree stands were illegal. I beleive its safer in a tree stand. That was when we wore the ole red and black plad wool 🤣🤣🤣

Bill, I live about 20 miles from ludington. I do most of my hunting in the area as well.
That is a great video which captured all those wonderful memories from that time. 2008 coincidentally was when I stopped filming our hunts. I had filmed them from 1999 until then when Dad could no longer hunt with us on the old cam-corders for family viewing. I still have them all and when in the right mood I do watch them. I really enjoyed this throwback to 2008. Thanks for posting it for our enjoyment.

Great video got me thinking about what I got in 2008 we all looked alote younger then and when you stack deer for opmost room is you have to 69 them but in the spooning position so now I know your thinking about it 😜

Thanks for the throwback video Ben! 2008 doesn't seem that long ago. The camp did really well!
It was just yesterday. It's amazing how long ago perspective varies between the different age groups in camp. 8 years ago is 1/3 or more of some of the younger guys lifetime so far where it is much less proportionately to others of us.
