It has to be Alignment.
Others are good, and there are some that are exceptionally decent. And yet there is something magical in this exact composition that makes me smile no matter what. Even if my idiot melee colonist with a monosword decided to go berserk on my best gunner/psiker, and she has to run around, slightly shooting and keeping her suppressed with Burden.
That's the true beauty of Alignment.

i had it play for a naked raider attacking my tribal colony, felt like i was defending against a raid of hundreds of mechanoids
10/10 would base again
I just wish its play as an ambient part of the ost instead of just during raids.
It also sounds like "Sweet Home Alabama" for some reason
The rimworld soundtracks are criminally underrated

I think alignment can be best described as "intrusive joy"
The new soundtrack is absolutely amazing, but for some reason when it plays and a raid happens, it doesn't switch to the "Oh Crap" music. So next I know half my colony is on fire and almost everyone is dead, and the music nice and cheerful.

Fealty played when my base colonist died from blood loss because him and his friend were incapable of medical. Thanks Randy, it's good mourning music.
Is Fealty actually coded to play after a tragedy? I feel like I hear it a lot when I lose trained animals or a colonist.
Despite playing Rimworld for years and years before it was even composed, 'Alignment' is _the_ Rimworld nostalgia sound for me.
I was so excited to see they had a DLC, and that was the first song I heard. Just took me back to being a tester shortly after public alpha, back in the sendowl days. How far that little game came...

Alignment is easily tune of the whole OST for me, love it! It feels like the classic 'Rimworld sound' but deluxe, bolder and more adventurous!

I honestly didn't even realize it was a DLC song until I saw it here; I thought it was just one of the really good base-game ones.

String Theory is ABSOLUTE BANGER i didn't expect to be an epik song during a royal ceremony.
Fealty is my favorite. That piano is so soothing. The second part of it is also really good too. A little melancholy sounding. I love it.

24:35 I just love it when this song comes. after a long day of defending the colony, tending then and harvesting food, it's amazing to hear the song while watching my colonists sleep well and see the progress I made.
Basileus and String Theory for me, there's something about String theory that just pulls me in.

At first I thought Alignment was my favourite, but after however-many-hours of playing I now think Detached Viewpoint is. The analogue synths in it are absolutely sublime (at 1:02:22).
Detached Viewpoint gives me very strong melancholia vibes so the name is quite fitting

All of the tracks on Rimworld are so nice, probably the only game i leave the music on... but the part from 58:46 has my heart!
Took me many hours into the game to finally get to hear String Theory.
Magnificent.
Fantastic soundtrack to a fantastic DLC to a fantastic game. Super chill and atmospheric... takes me back to past life when I was living on a colony somewhere in outer space.
On the Surface always plays after I have a bad sting of events and am cleaning up and getting things back in order. It’s my “things will be alright song”. That’s just life on the rim. Back to dealing flake.

My favourites are Fealty, Detached viewpoint and a music from P-music mod called Rustic Ranching from Peppsen. That music is a piece of art

String theory is epic. It only started being played after like 50 hours for me. Looked like the game kept the best for last. Also reminds a bit something from pokemon
Melody of Fealty is kick ass
Definitely not the desolate and abandoned feel of Rimworld that I'm used to... more serene and civilized.
Still love it, just an entirely different atmosphere.

Such music structure is not uncommon. It is more likely that it is a coincidence.
It does sound like it, you just gotta crank the speed of the music here to 2x speed.
Theodalf It sounds similar but It’s not the same. That part in Fealty is my favorite though. I wish that part was a complete different song so I could listen to it all the day.
Its pretty common in music, see Toccata and Fugue in D minor
For as many qualms as I have against rimworld, the soundtrack is not one of them, the soundtrack is honestly one of the best I have heard in years of gaming, years.

I really love 'String Theory'. I feel like the transition into the Queen style guitar wailing and the general pomp and grandure of the track is meant to invoke Flash Gordon and Ming the Mercilless' feudal space empire, in keeping with the theme of the expansion. Love it.
String theory is a special track, right? In hundreds of hours of playing royalty i don't think i've heard it once.

Alignment is a beautiful combination of sad, sweet, and uplifting.
The music in this game is just pure bliss
String theory reminds me so much of an older gun's and roses style ballad. Absolutely love the genres of music they chose for the game
Information entropy is my favorite, it gives you that bittersweet feeling of something terrible yet happy at the same time.. Like you've overcome something at a really high cost which gave you prosperity, i lost one of my best starting colonists wich was the last one of the colony then this music played and the MIB came..
first theme is what plays when you accept a 2 star quest but get mech clusters rained on you within 5 hour intervals and all you got are bows and revolvers.
yeah sure alignment is cool and all, but we really need to appreciate how fucking funky and groovy on the surface is like fr, that shit is groovy.

On the Surface starting around 11:07 is fantastic.
MAN ALL OF THESE ARE SO DAMN GOOD.
I honestly found the Royalty DLC to be a little lacking for the price in terms of gameplay, but the soundtrack is so good it’s completely worth it. I would not be able to play the game anymore without these new tracks. Fealty is my personal favorite.
