Both of these G-Shocks offer so much that you may not be able to pick just one. I didn't pick just one. I have them both. I use the GBD-H2000 as a fitness watch when I work out. I wear the Mudman to work. But if I had to choose just one I could! There is a CLEAR WINNER!

The steel pointer pen I use is the Zebra F-701, which costs a bit more than a typical pen but it's money well spent in my opinion. It won't break and you can buy replacement ink cartridges. Just don't lose it!

Yes the GBD-H2000 has a vibration alarm. You can set the alarm to beep, to vibe, or to beep and vibe.
You can customize the watch face on Casio H2000 ? is it possible to do this in the app?
Yes you can customize one of the watch faces to display various parameters.
As much as I love G-Shocks and I have many (including the GW-9500), but for hiking I would use my Garmin Instinct 2x or Fenix 7. Both are mil spec and as much as 40 days battery life (instinct 2x). Light years ahead in features (of both the GW-9500 and H2000). Especially as a stand alone GPS for hiking or being out in the middle of nowhere. FYI a Garmin 2X is about the same price as the Gw-9500. Definitely buy a Garmin over the GBD-H2000.

I was looking forward to purchasing the H2000 but was disappointed with the reviews on it. I'm a G Shock fan but I will not be purchasing this. As comment says Garmin instinct 2x solar has way more features for the same price. But the H2000 is a better looking watch.

I find my Mudman GW9500 very uncomfortable to wear, something about the wrist wings and the strap really makes it uncomfortable. Plus the strap is way too firm and should be softer, I need to source another type of strap for it😢
I found it that way at first. But it’s broken in for me. Or maybe I broke in to it. Or maybe it could be all the baths it took in diesel. Either way I find it fits much better than when it was brand new.
Love your reviews. No bs and you aren't influenced by paid reviews. I had the gbdh2000 for a while but found the solar charge let it down, I had assumed it would be enough to keep it alive. And that was with minimal use. IL stick to my gsw h1000. That mudman looks tasty though, just wish the bezels were deeper
Are you concerned about the bezels protecting the screen? They are shallower than most but it makes the watch thinner than most.

no none cares about the useless sensors u only need tough solar and multi-band and a clear display. i have my all steel awm-500d and my everyday ae-1500 for work and play i couldn't be happier. i was sold on the 1500 and got both displays.
