I love black dyke and foden brass they are the best in the world my son used to play with black dyke and foden and i have the opportunity to alwsys go with him to compete everywhere in Uk especially in Yorshire and the band marching village to village. Now my son is now at Royal academy orchestra .
I must listen to the BD Band play 'Knight Templar' at least once a week. Thank You. I know that you must travel many miles each week to be able to practice and perform.
They play every Whit friday, there are two venues,Saddleworth is the main one but another one is held at Staylebridge. Either one is a great night out especially if you are following one of the bands
Depends on what you prefer. BDMB is perfection, that is true. But to me, they are a tad too clean and sterile. Personally I prefer Brighouse and Rastrick style more: raw, alive, fluent. Black Dyke is perfection, B&R is emotion.
Damn good. Split at c1:20 and same place in the D.C. intonation at 1:38 and 2.30ish but bloomin' 'ek I would be humbled to be playing anywhere near this standard and in the cool of a summer evening on the moors. Brilliant.

Having followed the bands on a few occaisons it is nice to sit at home and enjoy thier performances
