Shakey as he has been nicknamed since the 80’s, was a huge star when I was a kid in the early 80’s. I think he may even have been referred to as the ‘Welsh Elvis’ at times. He was essentially part of the Rockabilly revival of the late 70’s/early 80’s, which saw a lot of Teddy Boy influenced fashion…though Shakey was more of a double denim sort of guy.

I've always liked Shakin Stevens right from the early days with the sunsets he always had that sound! I like the Mickey Gee era with all those amazing solos.
