lol! Go on you! Of course, there are other options around using comp/limt at all! Such as Chorus with a LPF, or the old fashioned way - Juxtaposing duel tracks L+R! It depends if your goal is to maintain emphasis on the sounds used, or develop a unique sound by disguising how it was made. All too often, I here a patch from FL; a Snare from Ableton, & track made with Reason etc. This is why I like Portishead, Lamb, Fever Ray, etc. They sculpt their own vision from scratch! And have layers galore!
Oh right? I can't say I've experienced that myself as of yet! But I am still in the middle of taking a year out of releasing tracks, just to concentrate on drums alone! So maybe I will come across it soon. Tbh, far too much music now sounds cluttered. Even that new Skyfall song is flat, dull, 'compressed to static' & a non-dynamic mess! I am very much against the loudness war. Good music stands out on its’ own, does it not? Not sure what its called! Sorry! I work at a very manual level.
lol! Would it do your brain in?! Maybe I can go & get you some morris dancers to clank their wood together for you! Or get my Mum to sing you a lullaby! Or find a toybox for you to wind up! You can work with as many layers as you like, & still keep it clean you know! Otherwise all orchestral pieces would sound cluttered! But in this day n age the mastering just pumps everything up to a non-dynamic brick wall of uniform loudness. Minimal is simple, dull & everything is exposed. Phobia of sound!
Interface....time for a come back. You made drum n bass famous around the world.
Your mother came back
Why did it take me 11 years to find this gem? Rusko in his bedroom corner days!
This isn't Rusko mate. I realize that it took me three years to find your comment. Irony intact.
don't know why this tune didn't get more appreciation it's great
