Mian Yousuf Salahuddin, aka Yousaf Salli, is a Pakistani socialite, philanthropist, ex-Politician, & well-known cultural icon from Lahore. He is grandson of the renowned poet & scholar Allam Iqbal. Through Virsa Heritage Revived, he is promoting local heritage of Pakistan. This video is taken from a live show that was was held at "Barood Khana", a traditional 17th century Mughal-style Haveli of Mian Yousuf Salahuddin in the Walled City of Lahore.

Very rarest of rare Rag Afghani Yaman,only few handpicked old listeners like me remember 1963 Rang Bhavan mehfil when Sangeet Martand Omkarnathji Thakor has sung this Rag in true Afghani Rababia tradition. He said that while in Lahor in Digambar Palushkar Sangeet Sharda music school, he has listened to this Bandish from some Afghani Gawayiyas. Great to listen to this by then my great friend Ustad Raiskhan,who probably has the best Fingers and Hand then any born musical players till today. Great Master,with finality of Sur,taans,rare Bandishes with mesmerizing gazals and surely Sitar. He was the only legend can play 3 time echo in his Sitar. TRIBUTE TO MY OLD FRIEND. WAH KYA BAAT HAI.
