Yes, the Akai Remix16 IS a 16BIT linear 32k, 16k, 8kHz sampler with many options to record and playback. You can use CAKEWALK or a hardware sequencer and a midi out controller to play samples. Even though the NEW machines have more features, they do not have the LOFI, THICK and PHAT sound quality as this❗ I made a CD and was blown away by the sound😁🙏💓🖥🎛🎹🎼🎵🎸😱
I just purchased one off of Ebay for $325 and glad I did. This has the same sound engine as Akai's great MPC 60 ! Gives you thick, dirty but clear LOFI sounds. EASY TO CHOP SAMPLES TOO. Bought 28 floppy disks too. I use VIRTUAL Instruments controlled by AKAI MPK MINI through CAKEWALK. I HAVE 52 VIRTUAL Instruments 😁🙏🖥🎹🎛🎵🎶🎸🎼🤗
No. The Remix16, (16 pads), can record either 32,16, or 8k BIT RATE which is actually lower than the MPC60 12BIT 40Hz ❗ This machine is much easier t o sample and CHOP with. I use SONY ACID MUSIC 8 to match tempo, pitch, and key then run thru a plugin software filter . Just AMAZING , thick, WARM effects before going into the Remix16 ❗
I’ve had 3 of these and 2 s20s over time. I sold one with the scsi adapter but haven’t been able to find another with it since. They’re getting harder to find at a reasonable price so I’m glad I replaced it when I did.
Hey when you took the sample you didnt switch the fader to play the sample hows that work ive got this same,paler had it for 8 years I have to move the fader over when I sample
I sold the Remix a while back but I’m guessing it has something to do with how you have the outputs wired on the back or maybe the (Monitor Select) buttons on the top. Good luck.

I was playing w mine yesterday. Fed it an ok drum loop. What came out sounded sooo good it gave it life. And all I did was sample it in. I’m sold
