  • *NOW DEMOLISHED*
Join me on a video exploration from the Fall of 2014 of this abandoned house and large nursery business. Seems to have been abandoned in the summer of 2013 after being bought out by a developer,, and I was happy I was able to explore and document this now that it is gone forever. They demolished it shortly after, so I got there just in time. Enjoy! :)

To answer the question at 12:56, yes that is a heat lamp. It's a light source that also emits heat, which is quite nice on a chilly day after a shower. They were quite common in housing built back in the 1970's. In fact, I have one in my home and I LOVE it.

I had to laugh at your "You can tell it's Canada" at the Tim Horton's donut box when right before that there was a sign on the door that was ripped and only the "Please" was left behind. HA! I love being Canadian

The wallpapers and window treatments were sure done by someone with a good eye. Love this house and when the nursery was operating it must've really been comfortable. Thanks for including me in your adventures. You never fail to fascinate.

Love your videos. I like that you narrate them and walk slowly taking the time to focus on everything, not rushing from room to room spinning the camera around making it too dizzying to watch. You do an excellent job. I have found no other video maker of abandoned places that does such a great job.

This is so sad a perfectly good house being destroyed for urban sprawl. I bet 40 years ago when that house was built that street wasn't that busy but with the urban sprawl more people moving in created the traffic. I would also bet that was out in the country when it was built with all the land it sits on. All the rust makes me wonder if the house wasn't on a well my sister lived out in the boonies here a few years back and was on a well system because of the rich iron in the water it turned sinks, toilets, and dishwasher a rusty brown

Great Video as always Tiki! I am telling you guys. She is thee best urban explorer out there on UA-cam. Better than me! :) Filming is really good and is a great narrator! If you have not joined her channel, do so b/c you will not be disappointed! By the way that timer device i believe is a timer to turn on the water for the Nursery

There are signs that a railing did exist on the master bedroom patio at one time but was removed already evidence of posts on the floor of the patio which would have supported the railing. From the looks of the carpet padding left behind the carpeting was relatively new.

Ok, that just sickens me that the government would flatten such nice houses to put in "cookie cutter" low budget urban development and the houses will be so crammrd togetheer that you look out your window and into the neighbors window... No privacy... Such a "sin" indeed...

Hi Pam, thank you for another fascinating and well presented video. The first upstairs bathroom you entered 12:25 particularly caught my eye for the wall tiles. I was surprised to see them as I'm from England and my parents had the same tiles in their bathroom here in the late 70s, early 80s. The distinctive design is burned into my brain from when my father tiled several rows one evening then realised the next day that they had a specific pattern instead of being random. Not sure how he missed that. He was a bit miffed (understatement) and the house was filled with some choice words lol. Small world eh?

Another great video! Beautiful house! Some of it looks like my house which was built in 1964. We have updated but a lot of similarities from what it use to look like. Pool and all. Lol. Obviously a thriving business. My take on it the parents had the business, kids help run it, dad passed away first, mom recently passed away. Business already going down or kids didn't want it, so sold to developers or developers offered good deal. Just what my imagination is running with. Lol. Great work again! Love your voice!

This reminds me of the house my parents bought in the now trashed by greed city of Naperville, Ill. That paneling was in style in the 60's and 70's. My parents added an amazing fireplace.. As the US middle class is destroyed, middle class homes like this are being torn down, by awful mega homes. We recently road down a bike path in the summer. We noticed that no kids were out playing.. In the once great USA, both parents were at work, and their kids were in day care. What a waste.

The flooded stairway in the garage made me think of a scene from the movie "The Last Voyage" as the S.S. Claridon was going under and Robert Stack and the others were climbing up from a lower deck! In The Tightwad Gazette newsletter someone once wrote about contacting the owner of an abandoned house and getting permission to remove plants from around the house and maybe even the stones used for a walkway. I wonder if anyone did something like that at this house and nursery. Glad to see the salvaging and I hope there was even more.

I have the DREAM job of any urbexer. I work for a large out of state real estate investor who buys houses in bulk. I then LEGALLY break into these locked up houses for the investor owner to check the condition, etc. I just went into a fully furnished, UNTOUCHED house that has been vacant and unopened for at least 8-10 years. It was incredible. The house is loaded with antiques and just lots of cool stuff! I should start making videos. This is the second house like this I legally broke into in the past month. Have to be careful of course; rotting floors, wild animals, squatters, never know what you'll find. I love it!

Nice find and great job Pam! If you look close at deck off upstairs you can see rust spots around edge where a railing has been removed. This video is amazing :)) i really loved it. i saw this channel looking for cat houses and then that cat lady house popped up and i watched it. It was amazing btw. Uhm, would it be okay if you showed us your face in a video or something because i feel quite strange watching these facinating videos not knowing/seeing the one making them/taping them. These videos really make me want to explore abandoned houses myself but all around me are just buildings. + i'm terrified of basically everything haha. You're really brave and kind to make these videos and upload them for others to see.

tiki, your the best explorer on youtube, people say your crazy for what you do, just imagine one day you do an explore and you never come home, god forbid but hear me out... we wanna see you do an explore of your house as if your exploring a house you have never seen, and tell us what you think of the person that dwelled there!

I'm a new subscriber to your videos and I LOVE them! You explore just as I would IF I was brave enough. I like how you open cupboard doors and drawers, and your narration is great. There are a lot of abandoned houses in the area where I live, and at least 2 of them were also businesses. If you ever vacation to northern Ohio (we have Cedar Point!), let me know and I'll show you all the abandoned places I know of.
And I'm not afraid of spiders anymore. LOL!

Thanks for subscribing as well as your awesome comment. I know Cedar Point quite well and spent a lot of time there throughout my life. I explored a couple places when I took my granddaughter there last summer that were along the way. I wish my fear of spiders would diminish! lol

Boy, that was a very nice house for it's age. I'm enjoying your videos by the way; Nice slow camera panning, and your voice has an interestingly soothing quality to it...

Hi Pam, once again enjoyed your video. Maybe structural issues are why a lot of these houses get demolished, I'm not a builder so I'm only guessing. Also you be extra careful out there.

Thanks for another great video. The house was one of the most beautiful you have ever explored. I agree heartily: It is an awful shame that such a house should be demolished. I'll bet that developer had to pay the owners lots of money to get them to move. Another great thing about this video: I got to see you, if only in the mirror. The camera was blocking your face, though. Please keep exploring; these videos are great.

The piece of carpet in the kitchen with the wiring and plumbing was where the dishwasher would have been. The carpet helps insulate the sound of the pump from going through the floor.

What a nice house! Shame to hear that soon it'll be no more. Thanks as always for sharing Pam! I wonder how the basement became so flooded, severe weather perhaps? Time to get out the kayak! Lol, when I read the title I thought it was a nursery for children not for plants! Haha :)

Always a pleasure, Alan! Yes, I can see how it could mistaken it for that, haha! Someone mentioned maybe the pool pump failed and was leaking pool water into the basement. Just a thought. Take care, and thanks as always. :)

Its interesting to see family businesses being explored as well. The flooded basement is just creepy!
Judging by the signs of elderly people living there and the dates usually being 2009 - I'm just guessing that the business closed/retired 2009, and the family left around 2013 perhaps?

@5:10, they usually call these "Console Stereos" (or "Console Hi-Fis" in the case of monaural units). All in one Radio-Phono units with self contained speakers. The vacant space looked too shallow for LPs (on end), it was probably for an open reel tape recorder. Some of these units even had TVs (apparently not this one). We had a couple of second hand ones when I was growing up (one with a B&W TV the other without).
