After 7 months in the terrible Argentina, I´m again in my beloved home near to the Coimbra Stadium. Nevertheless, I think Madeira is one of the best places in the world, I started 2023 with the fireworks, and then stayed in Santa Cruz 8 days and visited all the south of the island (including the Monte Cablecar) mingling with locals. For 2025 I plan to come earlier and stay a little bit longer, near to the Pingo Doce in Funchal (good place to eat). 72 years old ? I´ve been already caught at 52 with a stroke, coma, wheelchair, NDE, etc in 2005 in Argentina. They sent me back (from upstairs). I celebrated my 70 years making 10 Km in Coimbra in a marathon time (for my age class). So my goal is calisthenics for 2026. Maybe we´ll meet. Greetings !!
Hello! Wow!! 🤩 You are an inspiration. Can’t wait to meet you one day. Thanks as always for watching and sharing your story with all of us. Cheers! M&D
Another great video. My wife and I did just the Pico Ruivo hike and it was memorable. Hopefully next time we can go pico to pico. We love Madeira. Keep up the great work.
Hello Reggie! Thank you so much for watching our videos and for your kind comment. Yes- absolutely try the Pico to Pico next time. You’ll love it! Cheers! M&D
Really enjoyed this hike with you today! Carrie and I didn't get to do it when we were there last year, but we intend to return someday and enjoy more of the amazing nature and activities that Madeira has to offer.
Hello Dave! Glad to hear you and Carrie will return one day!! And absolutely do the hike if you do- it’s pretty incredible. Thanks for watching and commenting. Cheers! M&D
I'm with Doug - down is worse than up for the knees. The Pico to Pico looks like a bad choice for anyone who suffers from fear of heights/ledges. I think I'd be crawling - maybe even belly crawling - through those ridge bits. 😳
Hello Miranda! Ha ha yes he dislikes down !! The Pico to Pico hike isn’t that bad - it actually looks “ scarier” on film than in reality. Thanks for watching! Cheers! M&D
We enjoyed the video. We have not done that hike yet, but soon will. It was great to meet both of you at the Pingo a couple of weeks ago. Take care, Ron and Donna
Hello Ron and Donna ! So glad you mentioned yourselves in the comment! It was our pleasure meeting you at the grocery store! Absolutely do the hike if you have a chance- we do recommend the Pico Transfer if you’re looking to hike one way only. Hope all is well with you both! Thanks for watching! Cheers! M&D
Thank you; this hike would be too much for us, so it was good to see the highlights. I think the scenery and experience of nature is all around in Madeira as much of it is accessible by road, with shorter walks. I sometimes think the walking takes away from just sitting and soaking it all up.But if you’ve got the leg power, go for it! 😅
Hello! Thanks for watching and for your kind comment. I think you’re right- even when walking you have to stop and soak it all in or it can just pass you by. Cheers! M&D
Beautiful video! The only downside of rich foreigners buying more and more property on Madeira, is that the young locals can’t afford houses or even rent anymore in a lot of popular places 😢😢😢
Hello! Thanks for watching. You are right but this is not just a Madeira problem it’s happening in many countries . It’s a global world and people relocate. It’s tough for young people for sure. Cheers! M&D
Every coin has 2 sides , those who you call (rich ) foreigners are the ones who push the locals out of the real estate market . Those are also the ones that create lots of jobs by buying or building new and old homes do actually create jobs , lots of it Adding the people that left the island years ago , and are now returning home , actually worked like never before on places all over the planet and save their money now are building or baying a home to enjoy their retirement years It really brings more money to Madeira Next time you think about what's bad , flip the coin and see what's on the other side
Great video! Jeff and I (Jeanne) are looking forward to doing this hike when we are there this winter (Nov-Jan). Weather ok during this time?? Hopefully, we will see you again😀
Hello! Yes it’s beautiful and not dangerous as long as you do the hike in good weather, have the right equipment ( hiking boots/ shoes) and stay on the path. Thanks for watching! Cheers! M&D
I love how your videos are about principles of good healthy life you can apply wherever you are. Thank you Monique and Doug🪷
Hello! Thank you so much for watching and for your kind comment. We appreciate you being here. Cheers! M&D

Than it's OK, noting to worry about 😢
