- Today we explore the city of Kotor, Montenegro. We descend from Fort St. John with its stunning views, through the old town, past the cathedral, and out through the walls to the bay.
Kotor is a fortified medieval city nestled in a fjord on Montenegro’s Adriatic coast, in a bay surrounded by limestone cliffs. Defined by winding medieval streets and squares, its old town has several Romanesque churches, including Kotor Cathedral of St Tryphon and is overlooked by Fort St. John.

Interesting video with beautiful scenery. Nice to virtually walk someplace warm & sunny on a cold, snowy Vermont morning. Glad I got to do this walk virtually....just looking at those steps made my knees scream!
Thank you very much! Yes, I live in Montana and we are finally getting some decent snow today but the warmth of Kotor is calling me back. -H
Thanks for the views
Thanks for the view. It's appreciated. -H
Omg one of my best walks. Absolutely stunning. Thank you.
👍😊 so glad you enjoyed it. You comment made me smile. Cheers. -H
This is fantastic! Before this "walk," I didn't know much about Montenegro at all - now I want to visit in person!
It's a small but very diverse country and very beautiful. We had a great month there. -H
Oh good one! What a cool place- I didn’t know I wanted to go to Montenegro!
It's a fantastic place. And relatively cheap. -Henry
I always love less crowded place. This place is perfect for me. 😊 thanks for sharing. Nice work 👍💪
Beautiful scenery!!
Thanks so much Rose. -H
Thank you for climbing that hill for us. So amazing to see how high up we were! Such a beautiful little place. I’d love to visit there sometime. Keep on Stepping!
Glad you enjoyed it -Henry
Thank you for this walk/sight-seeing tour. I wish I had known more about the history of this place. That fortress looked like it had a lot of guns pointed down towards the ships. I guess I'll go read about this place. The water area is beautiful.
I believe it was built by the Venetians but I’m not sure. - Henry
@@CityWalks
That is what I read. Venetians vs Ottomans.
We were there too 😊
There is very beautiful 😊
Thank You for this video! It's good to remember 😊
GoodWalkers yes it’s an amazing place. I’m glad you got a chance to see it too. Thanks for the comment! -Henry

Thanks so much. -H
Thank you for showing us the view from the fort. We were there about a year ago on a cruise, stopped there only for part of a day and didn't have enough time, or the energy to hike up there. The view is spectacular, really enjoyed it while waking my treadmill.
Glad you enjoyed it! And glad you got to see it in person, even if only briefly. -H
Hey Henry, I wanted to go up to the Fort, Rachel wanted to eat! Next time for sure, the views were awesome. Great film! Paul
prsw100 Thanks Paul. It is a rather long hot walk up. But the views are amazing. Thanks so much for your support, love your channel. - Henry
you have an awesome channel, thanks for sharing
So kind of you to say. Thanks so much for letting us know and I'm glad you like it! More vids on the way. -Henry
wow, i didn't even know of this place. thank you so much for this. great hiking and videography - i thoroughly enjoy your videos.
Glad you enjoyed it -H
Wow! What a gorgeous place! My son and I totally enjoyed this....EXCEPT.....you didnt talk enough.😔😉 I know you have people requesting on occasion that you not talk as much, but we "decided" (lol) that this is your channel and you enjoy talking about the environment you're exploring....so they can turn their device down if they don't want to listen. Lol.
Speak, Henry! Speak!😁😇
I'm amazed at how much ground you covered in the short amount of time!
Bravo video, Sir Henry!👏🏻😇
🤜🏼🤛🏼
Thanks so much for that. This one dates back to 2017 when I was just getting started. I've learned a lot since then. Thanks so much for your support. It really was a very cool place. -H
@City Walks Well, learning or not, your videos and your voice have become a part of our family. My oldest son, who doesn't participate with my younger son and I, walks by and says, "Where are you all tonight?"
It's a blessing! Thank you! I don't suspect at 55 that I'll be traveling the world, so it is so nice to enjoy and see the areas that are "behind the scenes," so to speak, as well as what everyone hopes to see. Thanks again!
@@Voices_in_Heaven Don't count travel out yet. I'm 50 and still going. My dad is 86 and still driving mule wagons. Keep on steppin'. I'm glad to be part of your journey. -H
@@CityWalks 😱 mule wagons? 86?! Fantastic!!
6/18/23 Happy Father's Day, Henry
Superbe.très professionnel.
Merci -Henri
Hi H, enjoyed the walk down the mountainside, would have liked a bit more commentary,
Great feedback. I'm always trying to find a balance but I've more recently sided with talking during town/city walks and more towards silence on nature trails. Thanks! -H
Beautiful! Did you take a cruise there?
Actually, no. We rented a house to the west for a month. It was wonderful. -H
Hello walkers :)
My wife thinks that's so silly but I love it for that very reason. We LOVE Montenegro! -Henry
@@CityWalks we think it is very good and according to your channel name :)
You could walk here much more so we are waiting for you again
Is there a cable car available to go up ?
Hah. Sadly no. And it can get hot so if you go, take plenty of water or cash to buy bottles along the way. The view is fantastic though and the stairs/ trail is quite good. -Henry
City Walks thank you so much for the quick response , I’m not planning to go until next September , we are going on a cruise we will be there for 6 hours only :(
Please correct me if I’m wrong , their currency is the euro right ? Also what else do you suggest me to do besides the wall?
Thank you ;)
Millie Colon yes if I remember correctly they are on the Euro. The hike is an hour or two if you take your time. I’d advise a walking tour through the town and a nice meal. We were there for a month so we had plenty of time. See our other channel at UA-cam.com/TravelingMel
Apart from being beautiful, it also looks like a place where some overly excited people taking pictures can fall to their death.
Watch 2:41 people are crazy to click their pictures for social media. 🤔
Thanks -H
