Fantastic video. Absolutely fascinating to hear Jeff Bass talk about his history with Eminem. Would be great if him and his brother got a little more credit!
@@exoticcar5482 everything on the eminem show and up. and all of the mixing on mmlp. theres a reason that even thought they were so similar that mmlp sounded like such a step up in quality from the sslp
@@exoticcar5482 aside from mixing and beatmaking dre just being in the studio with em turned him into what he became. whatever dre did I dont have specifics but he did what a great producer is supposed to do
@@darkskinwhite Totally agree. You can't take out Dre, he was legendary in making Em grow and the MMLP is such a good fucking album. Still credit to the Bass Brothers though, SSLP is also a work of art. The old Eminem fire isn't quite the same for me, but things change and people grow. Would like to see the Bass Bros return with Em though.
That is so fuckin awesome!!! had NO IDEA those actual sound effects of Em loading the car with the crickets in the background were genuine. What an awesome experience to chat with Jeff Bass, I'm a huge fan of the SSLP and still listen to it now. Would be surreal to meet and speak with Em one day!
Mark is mostly the engineer. Jeff produced a majority of the beats on Eminems first 4 albums (I say produced because they came up with and wrote entire song together and Jeff is a real musician. great on the keys btw) after signing to Dre (along with Luis Resto post-MMLP, and of course you started seeing Em himself as a co-producer more and more as his career went on) but Dre executive produced all of those albums and produced Eminem as his artist. So while Jeff was in there producing songs together with Eminem (with and without Dre in the building) when they were done with the records everything went to Dres house and was touched by him. He touched the SSLP far less though because most of the songs we're already finished they just were ran by Dre before 'post'.
And as an Eminem fan, i've said this for "years". His music hasn't been the same since he stopped working with the Bass Brothers. He's rapping over trap beats and it's not his style smh
very enlightening they did eminem a huge favor for setting the trajectory and helping marshal mathers find himself, so that we all can, Lose Yourself 😂
Oh absolutely. I think as soon as Em stopped working with Jeff & Mark Bass his music got worse. Just why the fuck did they stop working together? That has been one of the biggest questions I've had for over 10 years now...
As an Eminem fan, he needs to get back with the Bass Brothers ASAP!! he hasn't put out a decent album since The Eminem Show. I mean, look at the albums after that....Encore, Relapse, and yeah let me stop right there lol Other than Dre, the Bass Brothers were the only producers that have that special sound that fits Em style.
@gusdee4844 the delivery is there though The only real problem has been the beat selection in his songs But that's not been that big a problem since revival
Bass bros had a hand in it but they didn't do any of the beats or arrangement or any other type of songwriting/production (besides maybe guiding him while recording). They handled the mixing and mastering of the album as well as the recording of the records, all of the engineering in their studio.

EM needs you and your brother back soooo bad....
Couldn't agree more. SSLP is fucking awesome. I can't stop playing it
You're goddamn right!
No he doesn’t.
Da fuck you mean!
Mr ESLFIRST First is that towards me?
Wish he'd do another song with him. He produced more dope Eminem songs than Dre ever did yet Dre gets all the credit
i know. but to be fair without dre's executive production those songs were not even close to what they turned out to be
@@darkskinwhite Which ones?

Ha! I discovered Eminem in Iraq 2005 when I was an Infantryman. And I still spin those albums regularly.
Basically bass brothers produced the slim shady lp the classic.

@@darkskinwhite he needs to make more songs with Jeff..he’s got the Eminem sound we all love. Well mostly older people 27+
this is awesome, amazing interview for us Em fans, thanks!
Jeff Bass needs to do more interviews
Where's the rest of this interview? We need more Bass Bros interviews like this!!
Peep Pinned comment! Or bio
Whos here after Houdini ? Jess Bass is also credited for the song
It's because of the sample. sadly, he hasn't worked on it
This is a public service announcement
Brought to you, in part, by Slim Shady
Slim Shady does not give a fuck what you think.
The Slim Shady LP still my favourite especially If I Had incredible production.
wow thanks for the interview man
Great interview bro
I need more of this
Is it voice from public service announcements?
Danil Zakharov Indeed he was. "Slim Shady doesn't give a fuck what you think!" Oh the memories
I'm still listening to this album now!! all the old albums in my car

Damn it that's the ending!? is there anymore??
Great content👌🏽
Glad it hit for you. Bless!

Eminem is doing great
Yeah you’re not a fan lol
Curtain call, mmlp2,recovery,kamikaze,mtbmb were all great

as soon as the bass brothers stopped producing for em, his music went downhill
Yeah right em is only getting better!
Do you not understand schemes, wordplay, syllable use, etc? I swear there's so many stupid people that think they get his music.
@@510tuber who gives af about that if the delivery isnt there
@gusdee4844 the delivery is there though
The only real problem has been the beat selection in his songs

Let’s talk about the shit contract they had him under until 2013. Over 60 percent and master ownership went to these devils
wheres this info at?
Eminem fucked up his music when he stopped working with him
Old stuffs are dope but newer are also great, it’s em
Yeah right I love every song
Also produced infinite
Nope, Denaun Porter produced infinite. & he had only been making beats 6 months when he made the classic ass beat for the title track. Crazy
