Backstory: Technoblade left to go fight the god XD and won opening a gate to the afterlife, he than went there to fight the blood god and take his position, to beat his own sensei than becomes god bullying a deformed green teletubby with an XD marking making him homeless by kicking him out of the end

even harder theory: After ancestors of technoblade killed god, they gain the power of the afterlife, and using it they create the gateways or limbos between hell and heaven, however, the last ancestor lost this power to god and he took it back. Years later, technoblade goes to fight god and wins, gaining this power again. This power is then used during the duration of season 2 and endway of season 1, as ranboo goes through his limbo.
The blood god never died, and he isn't letting other go away that easy either.

It’s really sad about techno, I will miss his voices in the lore. I’m so not ready for Philza’s lore and how he would know nothing about Technoblade. They should say he died fighting as a warrior somewhere and everyone grieving or use his lives to revive his friend Phil if he died.
A way techno can still be a part of the story is to have the syndicate he built fight on in his honor. But If they don't do that I'd be fine with it, after all it's really up to his family how his lore would be handled from here on out. Besides, his story in the smp has just about wrapped up.
Lets just say techno is on the worlds longest training arc

For the Karl going back in time theory and changing something, i think he could do something like helping Wilbur and Tommy win the L'manburg election, in hopes of preventing all the bad things that followed like L'manburg's destruction, Wilbur's death and Tommy's eventually exile.
Edit: just to add some more to the theory, Karl could help them win by altering the votes, insuring Pog2020 wins by a landslide so even if Quackity and Schlatt were to combine their votes it wouldn't matter. Wilbur would become president and would most likely imprison Schlatt. This could led to Quackity trying to break him out or even going to Dream to help him free Schlatt. Dream would agree to this so they would be in his dept and they would owe him one, they would free Jschlatt in the dead of night and escape before anybody could fully realise what was going on. After they escaped, Dream would probably ask them to repay the favour a little while later by helping him attack L'manburg when Wilbur would be hosting a festival to celebrate his party's victory and force Wilbur to step down and make Schlatt the new president, this would lead to a full blown war againest L'manburg and the rest of the smp. Eventually when L'manburg was brought to it's knees, Wilbur in a moment of fear for the safety of his people who were suffering from the war, would agree and step down, much to his nation's horror and dismay. Schlatt would take over but only as a puppet as Dream would monitor him and to make sure Tommy suffer under his new rule. He immediately orders Tommy to be killed infront of the crowd as a reminder for those who dare oppose him or Dream, Wilbur and the others would scream againest this but it would be no use and Tommy would be killed, only this time he would become a ghost instead of Wilbur. Wilbur would be driven mad with grieve over Tommy's death and hatred for Dream and Schlatt, this would lead him to destroy L'manburg much like in the original story and this would spiral into more wars and deaths. Karl would be horrifed by this and went back in time again in hopes of preventing L'manburg destruction in a different way, but each time he tried changing different events, it would always end with it's destruction and much more wars and deaths to follow. Eventually after hundreds of time changing events, the flow of time would be damaged thanks to Karl altering events and the universe would begin to break, causing the Dream Smp to be greatly altered with serveal different timelines crashing in on each other.
That was much longer than i expected it to be.

The amount of time and effort and insanity he went through building everything, just to have it erased right in front of him would be mind numbing, he would go insane. One of the ideas I had was that Karl somehow messed up either the L'Manburg Revolution or the Pogtopia conflict. What if lmanburg wasn't destroyed by dream and Ranboo actually became the president after Tubbo (like he planned before officially joining). Lmanburg was by far one of the most important arcs of the dream smp so i wouldn't be TOO suprised if they did something like that.
In my opinion it would be cool if all the old places and stuctures would turn into like historical ruins and later smp members would try to solve many mysteries written in there. Maybe it would be best if they just started in a different part of the map where they havent gone before and later return and to this exploring things i talked about. Like sending out exploring teams and maybe because of the lore some of the teams go missing. Nah idk what im talking about

Also like the members just forgot the current reality and for example dream would have erased much of their memory, leaving black spots. They all think dream is like them, black spots in their memory. And try and like solve the mystery of the ruins.

Boy, I'm seeing a lot of negative comments concerning the reset. Guys, they won't just destroy the entire server! They'll either do it with Karl and the time travel thing, like Kian said, or they could do it in the style of the "new world" thing they did a while back.
They won't just be getting rid of anything. Considering everything that has happened, changing the story going forward is the best course of action.
Even having just gone and done another server with another story, would've been a good option.
Also, Kian, why is everyone on tiktok and media in general saying that Wilbur and/or Tommy are leaving/stopping dreamsmp content creation? I was under the impression that they were just finishing up their story. Like Dream stated, everyone is just going to wrap up season 1 and then move onto season 2.

I don’t know a lot, but on one of Wilbur’s recent streams he said that he was gonna do two more lore streams and then he’s done with revivebur, done with the lore. He said he would stop when he was happy with his character, which is probably why he’s gonna stop. He might just have meant for season one, but it could be forever unless he makes a new character. He has stated that Ghostbur is never coming back, which is why I think it’ll be a new character. I wish I could give stream and timestamp, but I just saw a clip on TikTok, hope this helps with the confusion ‘bout the Wilbur thing

Oh, thanks for clearing that up for me! I having seen him commenting that. Then again, I haven't seen any of his recent lore streams.
That can be taken both ways, I guess. It could also be that his character could fall into the background after he ends the lore he has written.
Guess we'll know what he meant after the 2 lore streams. A new character would be interesting as well!
Will season 2 get a lot of attraction, Yes. Will it have a good storyline, probably. Its just for me that they are trying to add more to storyline while the story itself has already ended beautifully. I would prefer a new story itself.

I hope they release a world download of sorts, which allows us to see what people were working on. Techno was planning something already and also built that structure for some lore in a stream. Also I remember ranboo said he was working on big things off stream as well.
I hope they give a cool explanation why technoblade's character is no more.

Time traveling works if Pog toppia never happens, Technoblades help is never needed . Or he can assend and become a Blood God fusing with DreamXD paying off the Technoblade kills god .

Imagine of Tommy’s and Wilbur’s revived life was given from techno so he only have one left, so he either give that life to ranboo or if Philza died, he give that last life to Philza. But he become the blood of god instead of a ghost
I think it’d be something like Technoblade decides to go back to where he came from
Another way to change the server with a world altering event, would be the obvious: Entering The End.
Something happening in The End would be huge. A lot of questions could be answered.
Why DreamXD had it as off limits. Coming out the portal, Everyone could find themselves in a new part of the world, or an altered
world that would change things. Imagine a world updated where the old part of the SMP is gone along with people's memories of it, only to find out later its been a long time and its now buried as an Ancient City in the Deep Dark! That would be epic!
my m8 though season 2 DSMP would have philza say "techno went on a adventure/trip and will never return."
I thought they would use the fact he was a pigman to explain his absence.
techno being a pigman couldn't survive normally in the over world,
so far he's been getting by on strength potions but had to return back to the nether so he wouldn't turn into a zombie pigman.
And/Or since he's a blood god he had to remain in the nether doing blood god stuff (like DreamXD has the end techno has the Nether)

It’s interesting how they’re going to change all the dynamics so Jack may not hate Tommy anymore, and they mentioned that Tommy May be our reboot villain because if so I’m hyped for it, Tommy has been due for a villain arc ever since his assassination attempt on Dream. We also might see that Wilbur and Fundy aren’t related and Sam being what everyone thinks he is which is a villain which is once again long over due

I do feel like Phil should mention about Technoblade. Maybe tell a backstory on why he has gone, like possibly him leaving to be something he'd always want to be and that he had never planned to return. This could do a lot. It would show that Technoblade will still be mentioned and he has a reason for his departure in the SMP, not telling the actual reason why - but a reason that is suitable for people still grieving or just for every other character's lore.
It will be upsetting that we won't have the legend to stream lore, I loved his lore. But it's good that he is no longer in pain, even if his passing has destroyed a few people. I'm happy he is finally at peace.

Thank you for this information! It made me really happy. I was worried that the Dream SMP would end after Technoblade's passing. But if they used the streams for charity, that would be amazing!
I was sure it was ending, I literally almost cried lol. I’m glad it’s coming back, especially because I joined the community later on, and I haven’t been able to catch up with the hundreds of hours of streams. So it’s nice that I’m here from the beginning this time. It also makes sense due to of course Techno, but it was actually getting a little boring, after I understood like the basics and a good amount of the lore. I’m so exited to see what happens, especially because they’ve tried it before, so I definitely think it will be even better than the last, even tho Techno isn’t here.

Sure, could be disrespectfull, but maybe ask his family about it? Maybe some story, how the legend ended. He could be the "Myth" of the smp, something people tell each other in the 2nd season. Would be sad seeing his legacy in the story just being suddenly gone and never mentioned again.
Something I would Kinda desire is about that they give some explanation like that he traveled to the heavens to take on god just something so that in lore it would make sense and he has a reason to be gone so that he isnt forgotten. If they dont do something like that put of respect then I believe people would understand.

The only world altering event I know for Karl is either:
1: He creates a time paradox
2: He time travels in his own timeline and you know, destroys time and space since according to time and space laws, you can’t go back into your own time stream.

I really do think they should do a full reset with the story, there's too much involving Techno and with him being a main character nothing would make sense if he couldn't be online. They should set up a world download and start a new seed imo, maybe just leak what plans they had or try to rush end the current story

It will also give people like ranboo to do the original or at least a modified version of there lore. I remember him saying that a lot of what he had planned simply didn't happen because other people's arches happened almost to quickly for the story he was telling.
Dream smp has been in a cycle of supposedly coming back and dying with neither ever happening. Lets hope this time is different
What if a massive flood happens like in the future on tale’s from the smp covering lots of places with water and scrambling characters to different places on the smp

If Karl went back in time and changed something, there's a good chance that it would remain in that time and play out like the normal future never happened. I don't agree with this because anything built after that would have to be deleted.

I’m excited and also not. I really enjoy watching the DreamSMP but it just doesn’t have what it used too back when it first started. Sure throughout the series a lot of cool stuff has happened, but nothing interesting has really come up. I just have the question of what will happen to everything, how much will change?
i hope that they make the old lore less important since it’s very hard to catch up on so it would be nice for a s2 to not be that connected to the old/current lore

dang im gonna miss the old SMP and characters to be honest, and im surprised season 1 is ending considering all the crazy stuff that has been happening in the lore. Im EXTREMELY relieved that Dream didn't reset the SMP, as he is right, there is too much stuff that involves the lore on the world. Hopefully this will help everyone come back to the server as I really miss all the lore and streams revolving around it. Thanks for letting us know about this Kian I really appreciate it :P

im not very big in the lore or dream SMP but I have an idea on what they can do sense Techno is sadly gone.. as he was a main person in the server and lore.
They fast travel to a few months/year after everything happens, where a cinamatic plays showing a war happening Where techno is shown dying/dead (I dont want this very much as it would be scummy to use his death-) and the syndicate builds a statue and disband as their leader has sadly gone missing/died
This shows Tommy still living in fear of dream and his "brother hood" with willbur increasing, with everybody else still confused on how and why willbur is back but accepting him like they did with tommy as its not new to them
After months of living, stuck in his own creation, sam has gone mad, more mad then dream could ever be/been and he will become the villian of the story
Tommy and tubbo are finally at peace like they always meant to be, with tubbo "husband" (Ranboo) still gone and Ghostboo roaming around the "Gang" is almost still there, travelling the scenes of the SMP till Tommy and Ghostboo do something that Tommy and ranboo did the first week of him joining, causing choas.. This will bring memories back in ghostboo showing that Ranboo is still in there and not fully in purgatory

maybe if dream will make dream smp Season 3 maybe they will have new members like lifesteal members temporarily
To reset but not get rid of old lore, have Karl time travel, screw something up, some back and he's back but in early days, L'Manberg's founding, yet, this time, everyone is there, EVERY member has already joined way earlier. Because of that, the war has a massively different outcome, the Dream Team win or maybe L'Manberg completely sweep it easily. This changes history forever, none of the events after the original war happen, it's completely different! Dynamics can be different because characters have come earlier and meeting characters they never did, or at different time. c!Alyssa meets c!Aimsey, for example. c!Phil is active in c!Wilbur's life, helping L'Manberg, and he, c!Wilbur and c!Fundy have a proper working family dynamic.
I honestly want them to restart. The lore has become so vast and there is so much that you could write an entire history book about it. I honestly have no time to keep up with every stream. They don’t have to reset the server, just end some arcs and tie up some loose ends.

I think it would be cool for everyone to play new characters and the world to “reset” but really all the old builds would get buried underground in the new caves and terrain.

when i heard abt the dream smp originally i had no intentions of watching it, until it was like really far in to the story so i couldnt catch up. i know abt all of the basics of the dream smp so hopefully i can start watching season 2 and be completly caught up with it
While i am a little sad that theyre restarting the SMP, it is good that Dream talked to everyone and made the decision. I respect the decision and im excited to see what the new SMP will hold ^-^
