Watched this for the first time and liked it for the messages it brings to us africans: girls with no wigs or hair extensions, no make up, an african patterned uniform, respect and discipline. These are all things lacking in this modern world.

When I first saw this movie, a friend posted the newly released episode of Senior year. I thought it was a South African or a black American movie. Until she said it’s Nigerian. I wanted to watch the senior year but then I realized there was a beginning so here I am.
This episode actually really depicts what happens in most secondary schools especially those of high standard and class.

This is very interesting to watch. I have a good friend who is Nigerian who always describes what her life in Africa was like growing up as a young girl, and watching this series gives me good insight as to what her experiences must have been like while attending school in Nigeria. It also shows me our cultures are not so completely different after all- there are still the same friendship groups and issues with popularity and cliques everywhere, and many young people in different countries go through similar struggles.

I love this film so much. It makes me nostalgic. I love the innocence and simplicity of youth and school portrayed in the film, even the playful romance between Daniel and Olive! In the states especially, secondary school can be brutal; many students aren't nice like this, life feels complicated, a lot of naughty things go on... It was nice to escape with this film

That's how we grow up here. I couldn't raised my child outside of Ghana. Raising a h child in the states can be tormenting for Africans with all the distraction going on there. Its for people born and raised there who understand the system. African kids being raised abroad don't get it easier either. Its difficult for them torn between african parents with African mentality and the mentality of the states. It's can be very frustrating for both parents. Only african parents raising kids outside of the continent can understand. The states is still a place to appreciate in terms of certain things but definately not a place to raise kids from my african prospective. There are good kids there but the majority are very rebellious and can be very disrespectful to both their parents and the elderly. Code of conduct isn't really a thing over there. People just live anyhow all in the name of freedom.

Was just about to sleep here in Dubai when I decided to view this video and I really loved the whole thing. such a nice script and of course a lot to learn and teach the younger generation. The uniforms are simply great as well, it makes me yearn to once again return back to high school.

I watched this video with my 8year old daughter and my 10year old son. They wondered why the uniforms were combined that way. However, Their summary is: "Jealousy makes one UGLY". I agree with them, and I admire Olive's Mum for her accommodating but firm stance on Olive. I hope I could be that mature in handling issues in family life/ real world.
