The only gripe I have with this reel is the weight, but that goes with the size of the reel ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxM68VkfsQhHaabDce1IwOCXuvumcpbZ_k . I brought this salmon fishing up in Oswego, NY. I coupled it with a Cabela's Whuppin Stick. I had no problem pulling in a 14lb salmon. I will probably use this for surf fishing this summer and downgrade to a 3500 series Battle II next salmon season to save my wrists. All of the operations are butter smooth and the bail is nice and thick and has a solid flip to it. Everything about this reel is sturdy and strong. The drag system held up to the salmon and was also super smooth. I did use a scale to set the drag properly before going out to the river and this worked out tremendously. A bunch of other guys on the river would hook up and snap almost immediately. Just because you have a good drag system doesn't do anything if you don't set it correctly.
That was brilliant Mark and Matrix, well done Mark for doing well in the match in nasty condition's, and well done to the camera man for not losing the camera, Thank you both, 👍👍
Loved this video Mark, especially as the conditions were awful, I find it funny that you fish the pole left handed, but fish the pole right handed up to landing the fish, you then swap hands. Enjoyed the maggots going in, and you getting in a snag, showing it happens to even great anglers, like yourself. Keep them coming polly,
That wind is exactly why I fish on Magpie when I go to Rookery. There's enough trees around that lake to hide !! Great vid Polly and I have to say I just love the casting action - reminds me of Zorro !!! 🤣😂🤣
Hey polly, I'm left handed aswell, I put the handle of my reel the other side, have you thought about this? I fish the ouse in Bedford, I've seen you fishing, setimes the left handed approach on right handed rods looks awkward, how do you cope, with the polly shuffle lol.
you must have had concrete in your boots mate to stop .you from getting blown off the box . Being a little fella and all that. Enjoyed watching the video though so can we have some more when the weathers better.Seeing the maggots blow in was like watching me the master of disaster. Look forward to some more.
@@joeshepherd6159 they head into the wind an then when it shifts they go hoover up all the food thats been blown down that side while there then sheltered again if your a fishermen youll know

52:51 that was an old school strike.
Had to rewind to see Mark’s casting and trying to work out why he changed hands on the rod down to the reat
Its called the Polly swap and its some thing he has all ways done
I think its cos they follow the wind
Fish dont follow the wind thats a myth
Not a cold one. But a warm one in the summer.
