Knowing what is important and what isn’t. Priceless. You may be surprised what a bone nut you file yourself (even pre-slotted) to low action might do for clarity. No bridge or saddle problems - you are right. Rock on with that P90 sound.
I love it. Great review, well done showing all the features. Your guitar is more than 2 pieces. LOL, j/s look closer. It's a beautiful guitar!!! Bravo. It really is a beautiful blue.💯💯
Fender generally under winds their pickups so that they come across with that characteristic Fender clean tone. In fact, I remember reading an article where the interviewer asked a Fender product manager why Fender’s humbuckers all sounded so clean no matter the design. His response was that Fender will never make a very high-output pickup because that is not the signature Fender sound. You can think of that what you will and I’m not sure if he was authorized to make such a definitive statement, or the policy may have changed since then, but it’s true that most Fender humbuckers and soapbars aren’t particularly high output according to specs and are quite clean compared to what Gibson offers. But of course your mileage may vary.
@@randrothify I suspected this. I have a loaded pickguard with 2 noiseless and a Shawbucker 1. The Shawbucker sounds a lot like the noiseless singles. It has good balance.
I bought one of these as soon as the blue version came out. It looked awesome and sounded great, especially for a $400 guitar. I liked the layout, the switching options and the concept of a Gibson-style guitar with the comfort and scale of a Strat. I didn't like the finicky bridge and I absolutely hated the glossy neck. I don't know why Squier insists on slathering thick gloss when they have wonderful neck finishes available, like on the 40th anniversary series. Anyway, I wound up with a Sterling Albert Lee with P90s and really like it, though I would have kept this one and replaced the bridge if it wasn't for the neck finish. It's a great guitar for someone who wants something a little different than the usual Fender-style offerings.
@@TheDinosaur82 Thanks for watching! I like a satin neck as well but I have several (over 40) guitars so variety is nice. lol I have a couple Sterlings. They are nice guitars.
Out of the box my Stratosonic Epiphone marked bridge wobble was terrible to the point I wondered if they used the wrong size posts. The tilt was so far the low E and A were buzzing against the intonation bar giving a weird dead buzz instead of a clear note. I almost sent it back but tried shimming the bridge with thin washers to get rid of the buzz. It worked now clear notes and it stays in tune. Glad I kept mine for the great tones and its different than a "normal" guitar.
@@prescotian1500 Kind of makes you wonder if the Epiphone stamp wasn’t the only mistake and if it was supposed to have a different bridge altogether? Just double checked mine. No tilt, just had that little bit of wiggle in the threads. Glad you made yours work!
Absolutely right about the posts under string tension.
Great review. Thanks for your honest opinion.

@WickedFesterBand Im glad i kept it. Now I can't imagine my collection without it. It's very versatile and gives my back a break from my Les Paul's.
Rock and Roll Hoochie Koo!
Mine is 2 piece with one chunk about 2/3. Fairly chunky weight.
@@chrisghiardi117 I’m sure they use whatever works. Not sure what mine weights but seems not too light, not too heavy so I’m guessing 7 lbs something.
Man I love that blue🤙
