I haven't watched the video pass 1.48 minutes yet , I guess you made it to ....15 miles . Even if you didn't....you started the race !!! .....you done it old boy !!Well done that man . Peace out ✌️
I love the old poster of Barstow to Vegas where there are 600 motorcycles racing in the desert and you can make out individually what kinds that they are those were the cool old Triumph days
I'm glad your Triumph didn't let you down! I started to say you did the whole race, but then I chickened out and just watched. You definitely need to know how to work on those old bikes when you're racing out in the desert. Glad the ol' popper didn't pop on you. Sorry you got tangled with a red light runner. I'd be totally bummed if somebody played wham-o with my truck. The bike survived, y'all survived, thank goodness! Hated the go-pro went DEAD. Loved the video, safe travels, now go finish your daughter's bike. Keep wrenching, riding and building cool Triumphs! Peace!
PEACE! Congratulations Jared, You built and repaired the bike, you made the journey, you raced your race and maintained your terrific positive attitude. Prayers I'm sure were done at many times and those answers accepted, but you have done what few will ever even dream of Sir. I am sorry to hear about your rig but I'm happy your scoot wasn't damaged, miracles never cease! Thank You for sharing You are in my prayers Hoka Hey
Thank God that you are aright and no one got hurt in your truck accident and that you were able to have fun taking the pushrod killer beyond your expectations!!!
I am only at the 1:43 mark, so I am not cheating. Going to predict that you and the PRP make it all the way! Sorry about your truck, glad no one was hurt!
Glad to see no one was injured. Great job with the race. Hey if you can, if you ever get a few minutes, could you make an educated guess and tell me the weight of one of your bikes, and how much force it takes to steadily push it along on a flat surface? (Or if anyone else here knows and can help)
Oh I don't remember what model it was you probably know right off the top of your head it was a single longer and it was a 500cc that triumph made BSA made one in the sixties I'm with a bunch of guys who ran them. Hare and hounds up in the Northeast they had all kinds of torque, but the suspensions were brutal. You see I'm a short track TT and hate and hounds
I cannot imagine why it keeps breaking pushrods I have never heard of that before. As your Triumph Guru that you are that you cannot find something wrong that was causing it to break pushrods. Triumph for the original desert sled in the old days back when you had the bottom of a coal shovel as a blash plate protecting the bottom of your bike against rocks imagine riding in the old days on rigid frame?
@@weemsmotorco haggai when do you want to come down to Punta Gorda and pick up that Triumph Bicycle? Just text me and let me know I am without transportation at the moment because the tree landed on my sidecar rig and it's out of commission for right now.
All 100 miles brother I have faith in you Jared. Love you and what you do keep it weird
Thanks!

You know it!
So glad you made it despite the rocky start to your trip! Great hanging out and riding with you Jared!
For sure! Great hangin' too!
Awesome job! So glad the wreck didn't put you out before you ever started.
Us too!

I good friend of mine actually raced in it!!!!
So cool you brought Nancy with ya... shes AWESOME Brother !! # tribe
I really like to see two pre-unit Triumph motorcycles being raced and used. You both did good!
Thanks! It was awesome to do!

Hoka Hey
We did it! The bike did get a bent swingarm in the wreck but we still rode it!
@@weemsmotorco Now that’s badass brother.
Congrats making it all the way! Also, good job to stop and check on your buddy. Glad you were able to fire your bike up again! Subbed! Cheers.
Thanks 👍Glad you enjoyed it!
I found Bill's channel a couple of months ago. You have another kindred spirit on this side of the pond, his channel is Coleman Customs.
Too Cool, I will check it out!
@@weemsmotorco Of course, we don't have many deserts in the UK. Mud, yes. Deserts, not so much. :-)
I love desert riding did it for years the last week of October
Thank God that you are aright and no one got hurt in your truck accident and that you were able to have fun taking the pushrod killer beyond your expectations!!!
It did surprise us!
Looks like a fun track to race on 😎👍👍
It was a challenge!
Looked like a great time! Love it when the video ends with smiles all around.
The best!
So incredible looks like ah blast tearing it up out there glade you made it too rough with bumper cars b4 hand 😅
Dang sorry about the accident! Glad you are ok!
Thanks, we pushed through!
Great vid, glad to hear everyone was ok after the smash. The desert looks like a blast
It was so cool!
Nice Race. Sorry about the truck.
Thanks Matt!
That looks like a good time
More than you know!
I’m wondering when you’re going tear into the motor.& figure out why that keeps happening.has to be a reason behind it. 21:40
We will soon find that out!
I am only at the 1:43 mark, so I am not cheating. Going to predict that you and the PRP make it all the way! Sorry about your truck, glad no one was hurt!
We made a lap at 25 miles and thought is safe to stop before it caught on fire!
Glad to see no one was injured. Great job with the race.

The weigh in around 312lbs.
Thank you..
Did you ever think to check valve collar to valve guide clearance?
We will once we disassemble the head!
33 miles? Hoping you make 💯
So close!
@@weemsmotorco I said 27... what was it ?

Yeah the BSA was 441. I believe. Torque as hell
I was out riding 200 mile Mountains ride...
too cool!
The pushrod is not lined up in the hole properly, so either the top rocker or bottom lifter block needs shimmed or needs a shim taken out .
Great idea!
@@weemsmotorco You will have to rename it after it's fixed sorry lolo

There were a group of guys riding harley's from the 20's in the race with rigid frames and 1" frontend travel!
@@weemsmotorco haggai when do you want to come down to Punta Gorda and pick up that Triumph Bicycle? Just text me and let me know I am without transportation at the moment because the tree landed on my sidecar rig and it's out of commission for right now.
I once lost a rubber tank grommet on the road and used my bandana as a temporary replacement to get me home
Pretty much what we did!
Is it a 100 mile loop or a smaller loop that you did multiple times to get to 100?
It is a 25 mile course that you do multiple times.
Sorry about the accident. Other than that, It looked like a good time!
We pushed through the bad!
Hell yeah the Fanny pack!
LoL, Yeah this RAD guy gave it to me!
👍👍👍👍👍👍
Thanks!
All the miles and half the push rods was my original guess
You know it!
27 miles !! ????
Great guess!
🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻🤙🏼🤙🏼🤙🏼
25 miles
Nailed it!

67 mile easy 😊
That’d be cool!

What cha thinking?
@@weemsmotorco well you said I should take the AT out there and that looked like some fun.
I'm guessing 94 miles
That’s a ton!
@weemsmotorco I haven't finished watching yet, so I'll be surprised to see how long she went.
I'll find out in the morning. Haha

Riding an unreliable 65 year old bike through the desert. What could possibly go wrong?
Not Much!
87
That would be awesome!
@@weemsmotorco it would have been, I reckon a little duct tape and some hope you would have got there
Maybe it's time to rethink your opinion on Harleys, just saying.
A Harley would have made it to the finish line. Just sayin.
Many did....along with many other brands too!
