90% Prep, 10% painting=a Beautiful Finish! We all know you two put in 200% Prep!
Hey Johan I take my hat off to you, really admire a person that is good with their hands and not afraid to take on a big project
Is there anything Johan can’t do ? Such a superb craftsman.
I know that you are going to name the boat Ran 3, but after all that hard work sanding you could call her 'My Fair Lady. Cheers !
A testament to your skill in using the long board is the reflection of the side door in the barrier coat, it isn't wavy or distorted.
It’s hard to believe that not that long ago this was a bunch of wood he found at someone’s barn. Bravo
The hull looks great. What a project. I cannot comprehend taking on something like that. How rewarding it must feel at each step of the journey.
The most important element in doing a project like this is self motivation. And that my friend you have. Congratulation.
Great job with the final fairing Johan.
Behind the scenes over the past 12+ months was lots of support from Malin, Vera, and your willing helpers.
Been following you folks since 2019. For what it’s worth, your content inspired me during a difficult time. I’d like to express my gratitude and say how proud I am of your progress.
Glad you like our videos! Thanks for watching for so long! 👍😊
So excited to see this step. 🎉🎉🎉
Viking genes move that barrel 😅
What a great milestone, with the base coat, the boat looks even more amazing!
Johan she is looking beautiful already! The first coat shows how well she was faired. You both have to be proud of the hard work you have put in so far! Glad you are feeling better and I wish that for the girls as well. Until next video.
What a great result. Having built and faired my own 23 boat, I have a good idea the effort it took to get the hull faired. I also get the need to see some paint finish, even if it is not required at this stage. Well done, she is looking sharp.
I can not imagine the the great sensation and pleasure you will feel when navigating this boat built by you. Great job.
W. O. W. !!!
What a milestone. Evidence of the quality of work we've grown to expect.
BRAVO!
I had a very serious accident while helping a friend upgrade his electronics on his mast I fell about 30 feet, landed on the deck. Needless to say I broke just about everything in my body. I have been in hospitals, and rehab centers for the last 5 1/2 months. I still go thru physical therapy 5 days a week. Anyway, I am back on my boat, and able to watch videos. Your channel was one of the first I checked in with. WOW!!!!!! great progress. I will continue to watch weekly. Thank you for the entertainment. I still don't get out much cause walking and climbing stairs etc. is still very painful...... Thank you....
Is there a lesson? How did it happen?
❤Выздоровления! И силы начать всё сначала! ❤
All that hard work paying off is beautiful and heartwarming to see. She's looking stunning.
A beach, babes and geese. What could be better ?
Just like most paint jobs, the most important part is the preparation. You did a great job of that and are justifiably proud. Great Job!!!
Moving 551 pounds alone comes easy after your workout with the longboard? The first barrier coat on her hull after nearly 1 year of blood, sweat and tears is a milestone on your project ,Johann! She looks amazing, truly spectacular finish. I can't imagine the quality interior build to follow. Spring colds are the worse, Mother Nature dropped 18in of fresh powder here in Maine, farmers fertilizer we call it.
Incredible result, congratulations! Finally all the work is really visible! 👍👍👍
Fantastic results, she’s looking amazing. Well done.
No one has a clue but you,as how much work you have done. We have only seen snippets of each step. She’s a beauty, congrats on your success so far.
Two thumbs up! I admire your determination and willpower. Keep up the good work she is beautiful.
MAN, I TAKE MY HAT OFF TO YOU.
Pure, good feelings you both transport to us. What a joy to watch you living a family life and working so hard.
This boat will give back every hour you invested by cutting waves and making mile after mile.
By the way, great thanks that you produced content although being sick!
It takes a long time to paint a cruise ship with a roller. It's truly incredible how much work you have done to date and watching the transition is amazing.
Seems like an enormous step forward and you must find that encouraging. Get well soon and don't push too hard!
The satisfaction you must be feeling...
Interesting, the caption on this installment of RAN is “hard work pays off”. That is so succinctly expressed but so profound. Thank you 👍🇺🇸✌️
Fare indeed! It looks perfect! You are getting closer and closer to starting work on the interiors. I just can't wait until we see the living quarters, then deck taking shape. This has been a massive, do it yourself, undertaking, but what a masterpiece to enjoy and be proud of when she is out on the water!
Do you like the vertical ports a la Oyster 495 stateroom?
Oyster never made those flush with the hull exterior, weird.
I’m so excited and happy for you guys!!! You’re almost there!!! What a wild and fun ride it’s been watching this great endeavor. Great job Johan and Malin and everyone!!!
The reward for all the filling and sanding is being revealed and it looks wonderful.
Always pull a trolley with a load, pushing increases load, pulling lightens load.
Just crawled out of my bilge after working on my fresh water tanks and now I get to watch a new Ran Sailing video.
The design comes to life with the coulored coat! I love it.
She's coming along nicely.
Wow - what an amazing, stunning transformation!!
Don't apologise for your use of English......it's way better than what's used by many native Englishmen!
She's really starting to look like a ship now! great job!
What an accomplishment! Amazing to see the results of your hard work. Very, very impressive combination of know-how, discipline, and meticulous eye for detail. She's looking beautiful!
That is one heck of a job well done! Looking great! 👍
The cut off arm makes a lot of sense, I have seen surfboard builders often do lamination with just gloves and sleeves, no suit. I agree from my own experience that the fore arms get most of the epoxy spills so it's the most important part to protect.
For sanding as well, I have noticed the neck line and wrists are the hardest parts to keep fiber glass dust free.
Unbelievable work ethic. You should look after your health though. Fatigue can make you very ill. Love the progress and can’t believe watching this from the start and where you now are. Thank you for sharing and without you I wouldn’t be watching.
In Germany we would say: Johan ist ein wahrer Meister seines Faches.
OUTSTANDING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
An amazing job, would be really nice to have an episode summarising the 'tips and tricks' you've learnt on using West epoxy including tools, clean up etc
She's looking good! Hope everyone feels better soon 😁
I tilt my hat to you... Outstanding ...
Johan, the Viking beast....Not many men could move that weight in epoxy by themselves on gravel.... Super Strong.. Hats off to you!!...plus you were sick... what could you do when you are 100% ?? and great effort on the long boarding.. She is coming along so well, really enjoying the videos. Great work, cheers
Been watching since before the build started. Your English is fine. 😉
I didn't think I would be this excited until you turned it over but this looks so good! I hope you are all feeling better by now!
Så bra! Finns inte ord så hälsa lillkapten och Johan för hans kunskap och kompetens för det han gör.
Yep, putting that first coat on after the patchy fairing look is so satisfying. For the very first time you can see the results of all that sweat and toil with the torture boards. Nice job!
Very nice. I didn’t see any visual warping in the reflection. Very nice job!
Amazing prep work makes for an amazing finish. The days and days of aching shoulders have been with it
One man show!!!! Keep on....
The paint has to be extremely satisfying!
Fantastic - brings such a smile just watching!!!
Wow, wow wow and WOW.
HUGE milestone! Looks amazing 🙌
looks fantastic, great work with the long board.
Look forward as always to your next video my favorite u tube channel ❤❤
How satisfying it must be to see your perfect reflection in that base coat after all that prep! Great work!
Wow... 👍 Love the music at the end... sounds like Pink Floyd
Looks amazing! Keep up all the hard work.
Looking great, nice work by the three of you. If it were me, I'd want to lay on as many of the coats of barrier coat I could while the boat was at face height, give or take, and not above me sitting on a keel.
I could really feel your excitement of getting that coat on. I felt with you. I am stoked for you guys. Great, hard, job done well! Enjoy
Perfect.. so well done. It’s epic to see the hull like that.
Wow. Great milestone. I'm so happy to see paint going on. She looks super fair and a testament to all your hard work.
Excellent attention to detail!
Wow, it’s looking impressive! Your hard work has paid off 🙌
Perfect result
Split the middle of the back of the suit then place duct tape over the cut that will give you some room. You can also buy sleeves, cut the suit arms and tape the sleeves on. or you can just cut sleeves from other suits. From all the sanding your shoulders and arms must be huge.
Just look at that Beautifully Smoothe hull!! You are an Amazing man Johan!! Lots of Research, search for quality materials, capable/experienced, and detailed work for the Perfect finish!!.....And some of that done when you weren't up to par!......Amazing!!
And Kudos to you too Marlin as well! You are also a hard worker jumping in doing any and everything! Good for you!! Your garden boxes look Great, we Love your videos and know it's time consuming, plus you have such a soothing voice! Also we enjoy the interactions with Vera, she's a sweet, smart little lady! We wish you and Johan health and energy to continue to push through to the finish line! No doubt you certainly will be there and just think how you'll feel then!! WooHoo!!🎉❤❤❤
So much hard work and detail you two have put into this project 😊
Hi , yet again amazing work ,looking very smart and the hull is taking on it's own art form and coming alive . Whales willing be forming a line for a make over and a few barnacle removals .😉👍👍👍
Vu de certains angles, on dirait un sous-marin :))
Il va être très beau ce voilier, personne n'en doute.
GOOD JO LOVE YOU ALL WELL DONE
How satisfying it must be to see your perfect reflection in that base coat after all that prep! Great work! Looks damn good!
Looking good 🎉 now it looks like a boat🎉
It may not be white however i like that light grey!!!! :)
How little your reflection wobbled as you walked down the side of the hull was truly delightful. (Though it did make the cuts for seamless dialog a little annoying! 😆)
Brilliant effort mate ,she is looking fine as wine well done to all involved , cheers from Australia
It's hard to believe it's been just over a year. Especially since a lot of the early work was just preparing the barn and gathering equipment and machinery. 🎉
Seen from this angle, it looks like a large submarine👍👍👍
That finish is pretty dang spiffy. That oh glorious sanding really made a difference! congrats and I hope the family feels better soon!
Get a rounded "säckakärra" instead of a flat. From an old propane delivery guy. Easier when you get the weight closer to the wheel axel and safer that it can not move on to the sides.
Glad for you! Great job and I know it feels god to see the change
Thank you for sharing the story of your boat build. It has been a dream of mine but life took another direction so I live my dream through your work. Thank you. Take care and God bless you. Keep up the great and fantastic work.
For not veing a glossy coat....it sure is glassy and beautiful .......I think it was snart in every way to paint.... Fantastic Job from the very beginning.....
Cut old worn sock into tube to make wrist epoxy guards.
That’s a great idea! Thanks! 👍😊
Your hard work is really paying off, we're starting to get a glimpse of just how gorgeous the finished hull will be!
Holy moly that looks awesome. You guys are moving along nicely
Looks great, all you hard prep work really is paying off.
19:10 wow! Better than i expected
Looks stunning, super smooth.
Wow, that hull looks amazing!!
Tack!
Tack så mycket! 👍😊
By the way, your English vocabulary is just fine!
Johan creates Magic.
