Cam, your video store experience as a kid is an interesting parallel to mine. This is more of a story than a comment, lol. I grew up in the southeast, and there was this little mom and pop store called Video Vision, right next to an equipment rental store called Audio Vision. My dad always mispronounced and mixed everything up, so when I was very little I called the video store Audio Vision. In the kids section, immediately to the left in this little enclave once you entered, you had Care Bears, and Huckleberry Hound and all that. Now, I don't know what doofus put the horror section RIGHT AROUND THE CORNER from the kids section, but God bless them for it, they made me the man I am today. I would creep around that corner and stare at all the VHS covers, at first with a kind of childish repulsion, which then turned to fascination as I got older. Movies like Jaws, Critters, and Tremors became my segue into the horror genre. So my local video store kids section lulled me into horror, in a slightly different fashion than yours did. The building is still there, but it is a pawn and gun store now. I walked into it as an adult, and just stood there and sniffed the air to see if it smelled the same, but I don't think it did. The layout hasn't changed, but its mostly guitars, old audio and electronic equipment, power tools and costume jewelry/watches etc. It almost looks like the type of place someone should film something...it still kinda feels like the 80s in there, even though my store days were in the early 90s.
This is a great story!! My old video store is now a Subway… it doesn’t smell the same. Smells more like sandwiches. 🤣🤣 I wish the video store were still there. Ah well. Thank you for sharing your experience!! 📼
@@LibraryMacabreI am old school old -- 61-derdul years old. My old Blockbuster is a big Dollar Tree. My Mom and Pop video store (all VHS of course) is now a pharmacy. So sad. But at least we have our memories, and can still watch our faves. In the 80s that was Friday the 13ths for me. I 🖤 Jason!
What a wonderful stack of nostalgic fun! Some great titles, plus ones I wasn't familiar with. I completely agree about Adrienne. I met her at the Chiller Theatre convention and she really puts a person at ease. Very warm hearted. It's also where I met Denice Duff and director Ted Nicolaou from the Subspecies series and they were amazing. It was my first convention and I didn't know a know a single person. They took me under their wing, and we ended up spending a lot of time hanging out together. Happy to say that we've stayed in touch over the years. Denice is just an absolute radiant soul.
This video hit all the right notes for me. I LOVE Full Moon and have yet to see everything from that era. You're going to love Netherworld! I have so many Full Moon faves like Subspecies, Arcade, Dr. Mordrid, and Lurking Fear. I couldn't stop smiling because I'd be same way unboxing all that Full Moon fun. Thanks for letting us know the perfect man does exist.
Somehow missed a lot of these when I was growing up but Joe Bob has shown a few on his show. Of the ones I've seen, Head of the Family was my favorite. I was most surprised by its social commentary. Slimeball was a lot of fun. Gingerdead Man was the last one he showed and I didn't like that one at all. However, all the films had very impressive special effects, especially considering their budgets. I do intend to watch some of the Puppetmaster movies at some point. I'm most curious about those family friendly horror films though. They are definitely a product of their time.
Such a cool channel I browsed from first vid you ever posted to now and I loved to see the development. Once the lights were installed, the branding was complete!
I worked in a video store in the 90s and every now and then when it was after 10:00 and I was alone in the store, I'd throw a Puppet Master movie or sometimes Demonic Toys to play on the only VCR. Good times.
Man, I would have loved to work at a video store. I applied to family video in my early twenties, but they were in their last leg by then, so maybe it’s good they didn’t give me an interview. Ah, well!
I love the Subspecies series. The first one I saw was part 3. It was a heavily edited TV version that aired as a Sunday matinee on cable. I wasn't allowed to rent horror movies as a kid so I could only watch them when they were on TV. I was in high school when I finally got to rent the first three Subspecies movies. I have loved them ever since.
RIP, Jeff Burr - director of Puppet Master 4 and 5, Phantom Town, and the Werewolf Reborn. Not just a good guy, but a great guy. Easily one of the most approachable and gracious entertainment figures I’ve met.
I got into Full Moon as a kid thanks to the 5 buck "budget film" sets Kmart used to have (Showing my age a little). They had most of the Puppet Masters, the Subspecies films, and a few dozen others on these flip discs. Nothing fancy, no special features, but you got a good couple hours of entertainment. I upgraded to better quality DVDs as time went on, but honestly I can't imagine seeing Puppet Master in full HD. The grainy VHS rip of the DVD is too nostalgic for me. Also hides the strings on the puppets better, but I digress.
Oh yeah, I remember seeing those sets. I miss K-Mart so much! And you should give the HD Puppet Masters a shot, it’s kind of cool seeing all the little details of the puppets. It makes me appreciate their artistry even more!
I grew up frequenting a couple video rental stores as a kid (always was up for the 7 movies for $7 for 7 days deal lol). Miss those days! Ended up working at one in high school/college at the tail end of video rental stores fading out. I remember seeing a few of these titles!
I tried to get a job at one at the tail end of their existence too, but didn’t get an interview. Ah well. Probably for the better, but having the experience would have been cool!
Prehysteria is very fun and silly. I would die for Baby Oopsie Daisy. So stupid, I love it. Creepazoids is NOT good...but...I kinda love it hahaha. Oh I only have the VHS of Dragonworld, need to watch it. Kraa and Zarkorr are prime Godzilla ripoff goodness, I like them, although there isn't a lot of monster action so you might be disappointed in them. Zombiethon is not good hahahahahaha but the artwork is great haha. Robot Wars ROCKS....I LOVE ALL OF THEIR STOP MOTION GIANT ROBOT MOVIES...SO GOOD. Hahahaha I was like...oh NO is Cameron about to get slashed. Great video!
I watched Prehysteria last weekend and totally loved it! 🦖 Sad to hear Kraa and Zarkorr don’t have much monster action, but that can sometimes be the case with Godzilla movies so I can wait it out. :)
At the beginning of the video I was like “what’s Full Moon? Never heard of them.” Then realizing as you went through their movies that I’ve actually seen a lot of these and actually own some of them lol. I’ve been collecting Hammer and Amicus films recently. Would love to add more Full Moon to my collection too.
I haven’t had a chance to watch the entire video yet, so I’m not sure if you mentioned it or not… but if you’ve never read the book “It Came from the Video Aisle,” I HIGHLY recommend it. Thoroughly enjoyable deep-dive into Full Moon Pictures.
Thank you! I didn’t mention it in my video, but it’s on my birthday wishlist this year. I’m Full Moon crazy right now, so it’s time I finally read that book!
This has got to be one of your all-time best videos!
Awww, thank you so much!! 🤗

Love the FULL MOON movies they're so much fun.
Me too! 😊
Puppet Master movies and Castle Freak are my favorites from Full Moon! Awesome collection!
Love Castle Freak! Still gotta get the blu-ray though. Maybe next sale!
I didn't think I was familiar with Full Moon until you said Prehysteria. That movie lives rent free in my head lol
I watched it last weekend and totally loved it 😆
They do that Valentine’s Day sale every year so just wait until next year and spend just as much! That’s what happened to me 😂
I’m gonna be first in line for it next year 🤣

Oh wow, that is awesome!! Denise Duff seems really nice. I still need to see the new Subspecies film, but was happy to see she returned for it.
Awesome haul. Have fun watching them.

Oh wow, yeah I’ve definitely come a long way since that first video! 😅
What an excellent movie haul Cam- I have actually never heard of Full Moon Features. Demonic Toys sounds interesting.
Can’t go wrong with Demonic Toys or Puppet Master. They’re very accessible films :)
Aw man, this makes me remember how much I miss the video rental store experience all over again. Those were the days!
That’s one of my favorite things about owning all these movies-it’s like taking out videos from the video store all over again. 😁
You haven’t seen Dragonworld?! Man, I absolutely loved that movie growing up. I haven’t seen it in years but now I wanna watch it again lol.
I’m gonna watch it this weekend! :)
@@LibraryMacabre I might just watch it this weekend as well. I’m sure you will like it!
Man, those titles take me back!
Duuude, PreHysteria was such a good movie! There are 2 sequels to go along with it! :D
I watched it this weekend and LOVED it!!!!
This video inspired me to watch Sorority Babes in the Slime Bowl a Rama & Castle Freak tonight. Such a fun time! 🍿🎃
I watched Sorority Babes last night too and it was such a blast! I absolutely adored it!
This was such a fun video! Thank you, Cameron!
Thank you so much for watching!
I remember seeing Headless Eyes VHS at my local video store when I was a kid and being so freaked out by the cover art 😆
It’s so iconic 😂
Ah, Hollywood Video........... you gave me a flashback!

I watched it a couple weekends ago and LOVED it! So cute!! 🦖

Totally relate 😂 I was only ever able to watch horror movies on Tv too, as long as they were heavily edited.
I find your movie videos so informative! Definitely some movies I want to check out myself
Good! I’m glad to turn you onto some new movies :)
Was so excited to see Phantom Town get a shoutout, nobody talks about that weird little film. I adore it. Epic haul, Cameron! Lots of good recs here!
You have good taste, sir! Glad someone else appreciates Phantom Town. 🤠
I loved Dragon World as a kid!! I need a copy now! lol Great video! 🖤

I saw Puppet Master Retro. It was cheesy but fun.
