A really quick calculation I made for the thinner wall and alloy with weaker tensile strength already gave me an estimated 650-700kg you could hang on a a 5cm wide flat aluminum strip where of course for a tube forming the can this would be much higher. 650-700kg is the weight of those smalles compact cars. eg. a Citroen Ami is something like 480-500kg. NOW ... imagine somebody lifting such car with their hand ... holding it by a thin rim contacting the tip of their fingers/fingernails. Current record for heaviest deadlift of all-time belongs to Poland's Krzysztof Wierzbicki who achieved a 502.5kg (1,107.8lb) in April 2022 using lifting straps and the sumo style. Do you still want to believe somebody has so much strength, they are doing it without any trickery???
Eh, you don't wanna score the metal below the lip cuz you'll end up with a sharp metal edge that might easily cut your mouth. It's better to use a modified "safety" can opener to cut the seam of the lip to form a smooth edge. Not only is this much safer, but it also maintains the structural rigidity of the can a lot more than if you can completely removed the seam.
If u do the can challenge wrong you can Slice through your tendons, Google finger tendons reattachments. Think 2ce before attempting something fort the first time
You still need some strength with this method, but check out my other video on the channel, l have developed an even better method, where it is easier to achieve the same effect.
If you cut through your lower lip, you can then take the top of the can, which you ripped off and insert it there like one of those lip plates/lip discs as worn by certain tribes :)
