Tryna get back into yugioh. Do people not use staples anymore? Like monster reborn, dark hole, book of moon, bottomless, mirror force, solemn warning, etc?

most of these arent staples anymore, there are cards that do "more" or do it better than those. especially battle traps like mirror force arent used anymore at all

There are staples still, book of moon goes in and out of the format. Rn some modern staples are like triple tactics talent (which can be either pot of greed, change of heart, or peak at the opponents hand and shuffle a card back), hand traps (these can be monsters or literal traps with quick effects that activate in the hand to interact with the opponent so they don't combo endlessly for free), and cross out designator (which negates said handtraps). These staples lead to a lot of back and forth during either turn, but they are pretty different from good ole monster reborn
