I was six when my dad left my mom with four kids in the 1960's. She talked a man into letting her rent his condemned home. It was pretty bad but she cleaned it up and made it a home for us. It had fruit trees and grape vines, to us kids it was a giant playground. We had no idea the struggle it was for her but she did it. Just having a roof over your head, a place to bathe and use the toilet means everything.

Same washer and dryer I put in my condo. I live in my condo, because the rents are so high and we’re when I came here. I’m lucky to have it. I had to make a lot of repairs. But, other than that, it’s the cheapest you can live in Florida. It’s so much better than being homeless or living with family.

It's a nice house. It's not new, not modern, and a bit rusty but it's still livable. And most humble and practical people all over the world live in such houses to avoid high rents and maintain savings. Only some people with vanity choose to become debt slaves by living in those luxurious houses we watch only on TV.

I love this kid. I can’t imagine my kids surviving like this own their own. My son is 21 and in college and my daughter is 22 and about to finish college to be a nurse and we still pay everything for her. At his age I was independent and taking care of a 2 year old back then. Did everything in my power to make sure I was the best supportive mom I could be to my kids.
Same I was 20 with a new baby divorced and on my own. Most young adults can’t do much in their own they don’t shop do laundry cook etc. it’s rare to see one that does.
