Large Glass Installation with the Boom Lift and Safety Emergency Case Study (175-ft Boom Lift)

A glass installation company engaged Alpha Platforms’ height access services to replace oversized panels of up to 600 lbs/unit.
Alpha Platforms’ team dispatched its A-150, a 150-ft truck-mounted lift for this two-day project, featuring a 12-ft cage, 1,322 lbs of lift, and a Power Lift basket attachment for large, heavy items.
When glass installers removed the broken glass on the 4th floor and loaded it onto our Power Lift, the warning message flashed “OVERWEIGHT!” The panel was 200 lbs above the limit, creating a potential disaster.
