Thanks for the video. I'm about to do one also. I have spare Hornby 4-pin decoders so wondering if anyone had put a stay alive across the bridge rectifier. There are pins to solder to for 0v and +V. I have a number of small capacitors so just need to get over point frogs so doesn't need to be that big a capacitor.
did you find a solution for the stay alive not working? i have just followed this setup with all the same components and have the same issue, is it a CV setting?
Hands in the way for soldering. Difficult to see some procedures. Very informative tho.

Sadly not, I think the stay alive is just pants. That said the newer Laos DCC ones work very well
