HLB is a work of art when it comes to blackened/doom/thall style of deathcore they are so unique and amazing, hyped for you to be checking out the discography Abyssal and Valde are 2 of my favorite albums easily some of the heaviest music ive ever heard, and with Buster posting new snippets for HLB their new music in the future is about to be more insane
Ooooooh shit lol Detestor is insane. What just blew me away about this was that Buster recorded all parts by himself including vocals, what a monster. This was before the band as you know it now was currently formed and was re mastered with the new members and released again in 2020 . I may like Vildhjartas new album more than anything the two bands have put out but Buster has been pumping out music in that time between the Masstaddens and this album especially I respect because it really is just him lol
@@getmeouttahere7638 they re recorded it with Filip, OG recording is with Buster and yes the self titled had Marcus but Detestor originally Buster recorded alone.
@@johnarchibald6 GetMe is right. Filip has been long time vocalist and buster never did vocals on his own. you can hear him when he occasionally does background screams (the higher pitched ones) in abyssal and onward. Buster even posted what vocals he does on his insta back when Abyssal was being made. so going by sound alone you can tell it isn't buster on vocals
also just realized you are listening to their old mix of detestor. they've made remasters of all their albums (excluding structures collapse) before Abyssal and sound great. also, that tidbit of female vocals is taken from the game Amnesia. Jessica Currys is the composer of that sample rather than vocalist which can be confusing
Woo! Excited for you to listen to abyssal and Valde! I'd say I like hlb as much as vildhjarta but yeah, that recent album vildhjarta released is the top of the top.
Detestor just feels like that true successor of Self titled. (it technically is since it was released after). so it captures in essence what the band blew up with. most people discovered this band with Abyssal but man they are missing out if they don't go back to this and self titled. Abyssal just didn't seem like true HLB to me and Valde does a decent job at kind of bringing it back but didn't sound as horror-ish as Self Titled and Detestor. HLB, to me, has a huge emphasis on ambience and how spacious their music is. like how other people say, a lot of HLB songs sound like they could be on the soundtrack of a horror film.
I forgot how prominent the whammy ideas were in this EP. I rotate the self titled, abyssal and Valde constantly

Filip Danielsson did the vocals for this album and is still in the band. Marcus Hultqvist did the vocals before Detestor.

@@johnarchibald6 Source? If you're referring to the remaster of detestor, the vocals haven't changed from the original release in 2016.

Heaviest band on the planet. Supernatural.
