Thank you for allowing people to live NYC in this marvellous way !! you're a genius !
NYC JUDE
To leave?
Cool Ken. A big memory for me on this vid. In my 9th grade 1969 I took the 6 Pelham train from Pelham Bay Station, Bronx over to Manhattan. Came up at 125th and Lexington. Took a bus to 125th and Lennox. Right where the $1. belt man and then the hand shake was.! Then walked one block to 124th and Lennox to school. The school was then called Rice HS. It is now hard to believe that I was just a 14 y.o.! What an education that daily trip was in the sixties.
Thanks for doing Harlem, my old neighborhood. Grew up in the Riverton. 135th and Lenox was my home station. Now living in Mississippi for 40 years. Who'd of thunk it?
No one cares
@@jacecollins5089 I care :)
No you don’t
@@jacecollins5089 no one cares, that u dont care ;)
Being from Australia I don’t know what this life style was or still is like so thx for letting me try to understand the struggle
I was born in NYC. Lived on West 116th street and 8th Avenue. Thank you for the tour and I look forward to more content.
Thanks for the walk. 👍
When I was in NYC there was a building called Century 21, I thought it was a Realtor because in Canada it's a Realtor so I went to check it out. I found that store to have better prices on cloth than Macy's. Sad to see it close.
Thank you for posting this video! so happy to see those streets and peoples. I use to live in the apartment on the corner Lenox and 129th. I’m in nostalgic mood makes me wanna go back to Harlem and New York.
Love from Japan.
I stayed on west 38th St and walked up to Harlem via Central Park. Went up to the Apollo. Found Harlem really interesting
Action Kid, when I was in NYC, I was staying at a hostel on West 20th St & 8th Ave and I planned to do Ghostbuster and Three Men and a baby movies tour on my own with so many amazing buildings and so much to see next thing I knew I was already at West 110th to Central Park. Central Park was amazing so much to see and do, I decided what the hack I just walked back to my hostel, best day ever! Keep up the great videos!😀🐼😁😁
You're welcome!
Ha ha, that is soooo New York.
@@b.griffin317 I love to walk for hours and thank you that is such a complement since I am from Ontario, Canada!
Bro, thank u soo much for these videos, i went to ny a year ago to see ma best friend who lives in harlem, and i loved harlem soo much that im watchin videoa like this, keep doin , that shit great💯💯💯
Where did you visit from
Nice video. Wish i had some oxtails. Most popular among west Indians and Black southerners. Haven't been to Harlem in 25 years - from Long Island. There are beautiful brownstone houses/apt. Since the pandemic crime has been in an uptick all over NYC...
I'm new to new york these videos are a life saver
Dude perfect pace. Beautiful steady calmness. I seriously enjoyed this
Thanks for the walk. I grew up on Lenox Avenue in the 60’s. You walked past my old apartment.
1960s when Harlem was truly Harlem
I grew up on 119th in 7th in the 70s
Awww
@@edwinjimenez3802
Wow, I moved to Harlem in 94
Wish I could see what it was like in the 60s and 70s
@@tysonb3568 enter on you tube the History of Harlem you will find many videos on the subject
Lol. Ken, congratulations for reaching 180k subscribers!! Good job! 😌
Great and unique idea, I am a little jealous that I haven't thought of it. Streaming live while exploring different neighborhoods.
125th street in Manhattan is my favorit street to go in Harlem. A lot of different people, lot of streetvandors and much much more. NYC-fan Ruud Mulder The Netherlands
Amsterdam, for me, is the greatest city in the world.
Nederlanders waren historisch de eerste echte nieuw yorkers💪🏻
Just curious . . . how often to you have to replace your shoes? I'll bet you burn through them pretty quickly.
Another Harlem fun fact: 5th ave, the only still numbered ave west of 3rd in Harlem, runs through Marcus Garvey Park, past Central Park (along the only side of the park not named Central Park North/West/South) until it also goes through Washington Square Park. Three parks, one famous avenue!
Sad to hear that century ‘s 21 is no longer in New York. I went there last April 2019.
Thank you for your vid. I know these streets very well. I walk them twice a month when I visit. It's just heart breaking to see the homeless people and some drug addicted people just sitting there, lost.
Another great walk! Thank you, Action Kid!
I love Harlem. Thanks for this video!
Short but sweet, very enjoyable.
Don’t speak for black American anything if you aren’t black American Bc we do eat it especially in the south
One of Manhattan's finest. The neighborhood of Harlem. 10026, 10027, 10030, 10037, and 10039.
My dream is to live in NYC..hopefully one day I can
it look safe ! why they said it's dangerous place?
Do people have to work 16 hours shifts to survive in Harlem? I really wanna move there.
This amazing now I wanna go there !! Love NYC❤️❤️❤️
Is it safe for tourists to visit Harlem
I think it is, but please be aware of your surroundings.
I’ve been to Miami, don’t know if it applies to NY but I will leave my experience: I was driving with my wife looking for a place to eat and we drove for about 10 minutes away from downtown so we could get a better feeling of the city. We found this McDonald’s-style place (not actually McDonald’s) and we parked in. As we walked to the restaurant we noticed everyone were looking at us but we kept going and as we walked through the door, everyone stared at us as if they were saying: what are you guys doing here? I noticed we were the only white people around and we felt really uncomfortable. I told her: let’s get out of here and walked fast paced to the car. The feeling I had is that black people act normal towards white people when you are in a tourist place, but when you go to their neighborhoods, they are very racist. I’m from Italy.
@Troll Not Then why are so many White people moving there? Huh?
Troll Not .....well.... I am a Dutch woman and stayed for 2 weeks at Amsterdam Avenue/140 street area. I did walk everyday at the 125 east. Never did I feel unsafe. But as AK said be aware.
LadybLuSh N It’s gentrified and very safe during the day👍🏽
On your walks how do you get back home ? Walk from where you end video?
I think he takes a bus.
i wish u could have went to were, they shot the movie, claudine, which was 139 edgecombe' &142st'' back in 1974''' just to see it again;' its fix up over there now' but it bring back memories.' that what i like about it'' i was not born yet , i live in Detroit, but every time i wood see the movie , i think about that area''
Is the power out?
The guy dancing at the beginning.Happy and safe travels🙏💫🌟
The video of harlem crack vs harlem hood in 1989 brought me here this is 31 years ago
Hey Actionkid this is and always will be my old hood growing up from the age 8 years old until I was 19 years old lived at Lincoln projects
Thank you for taking time out of your day to show us around your city. You are very knowledgeable. ❤👑🔥
Grew up E. 127th Street between Lexington and Park
Action Kid, do you plan ahead of time when and where you will be taking videos or is it a last minute idea of where you will be going? Also do you bring your camera everywhere you go incase you decide to take video?
I usually bring my camera with me wherever I go, and sometimes I plan my routes and sometimes I don't.
@@ActionKid That's why you have so many videos. I've started watching you a few month ago, and I really enjoy your videos, my goal is to watch all of your videos, thank you so much for responding, you have a good night!
In the 80s-90s... these streets used to be FILLED with people... music everywhere... hanging out all day and night. Rough but very fun
Truth Indeed
The video is clear. Thanks for the videos of New York.
Fun Harlem fact: Most of Manhattan obeys the "even east" rule of traffic direction: even numbered streets are east-bound, odd numbered streets are west bound. But 126th st, which should be east, is west bound just as 125th and 127th st is. If you're used to walking in New York by looking in the opposite direction you look on the last street you will get an odd surprise at 126.
This video was AWESOME! Thank you!
Friend from walking in Russia. Great new walking video. I like it, lovely places. NYC is nice always, even after lock-down. Thank u for sharing 👍🚶💓🏩🏫🗽🗼🏰🌆🚲🚓🚌
Ah the sounds of the city. Its perfect weather for a walk right now too
This makes me happy and sad cause i was born in Harlem & i miss New York city
Come back
Found the John Randall Survey Bolts idea at 20:32 intriguing & wondered why, if the bolts were there to mark intersections, why was the park there? The park website tells the story. 5th Ave was due to go thru in 1835, but local residents asked for the area to remain as a park & here it is today...still a park. That would also explain how a park mainly left undisturbed would still have survey bolts 210 yrs later.
New York is a wonderful place. Best city in the world. Just like anywhere else if you don't get involved in negatively nothing negative will happen to you.
ActionKid, you have such a Wonderful Sweet kind Spirit about you!.
May God be with you always throughout your travels.
Much Luv to my fav host/narrator.
AK, do you have a timeline in mind for moving from NYC?
Some time between the years 3020 and 5020. Stay tuned for updates.
Hello can u walk Spanish Harlem again by Wagner projects?? How is the area now ??i used too live there..
It was interesting to see New York in this days, thanks for the walk💜
*these days
Any chance you can do some videos on Long Island?
Yay ! Your finally walked my neighborhood.
Thank you ActionKid for the great walk!
Thanks for the Video!! I want to visit so bad. Hopefully soon ❤
Go grab a slice of Patsy’s pizza on 119th and 1st ave! A must!
my spot❗️
Imma bama boy and harlem showed me love when i was there💯☺😌✌
I would love to see Harlem around 2nd avenue. My boyfriend lives there but I've never visited, now covid is keeping me away. He can't travel here either, so been living through your videos a lil.
@Gigi Raven thanks for coming out to flatline my enjoyment. Appreciate the attitude. I'm not a dumbass. So yea, I know 2nd Ave is different from where he's walking. But guess what? My guy goes these places too. . Lol. They let him off 2nd Ave every now and then. Still fucking happy to see it! Not gonna flood my building with your observation today sistah! Hope you find your happy.
How do u decide where to walk?😊
Would you recommend living in New York City? I'm from Los Angeles but I'm fascinated with NYC
I live in Canada, I would love to visit
I stayed on 7th Avenue (Adam Clayton Powell Blvd).
Very quick and to the point bud, great stream! I like to see the seasonal change, even with the face masks and all. I'm going to exchange my Hero 8 for a Hero 9, I think it'll be worth it.
Please don’t start at subways...noisy.
IS THE GOPRO 9 OUT ALREADY I JUST GOT GOPRO8 LAST MONTH I REALLY DON'T CARE FOR IT BUT I WILL KEEP IT FOR NOW IT MIGHT GROW ON ME ONE DAY BUT FOR NOW👎👎👎👎👎NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
@@wilmababygirl5629 I'd say enjoy your Hero 8. The Hero 9 will be unveiled officially on Wednesday. I'll test out the Hero 9 on my channel ans see if it is a worthy upgrade. You can exchange your 8 if you have a warranty. You would probably need about $50 extra just to cover a surprise higher price tag.
What a cool place. I bet the history is cool 💗
$1.00 belts? What are they, Pleather?
it’s a harlem world baby🦅🦅❤️
I worked around 127st and Jacob has delicious food . Lenox sapphire too.
Hi, is it more tasty than Sylvia's?
Your channel is one of the best because it's imformative.
For me it's complety strange. Used to live in city. But now I live in a peaceful garden habitat.☀️
Beautifuuulll experience ilove it 😍👍 thanks for taking us with you friend 😊
Where is Showtime at the Apollo?
On 125th street
Nice video Actionkid! Can you walk in the industry area again? Have a safe and productive day. ☺☺
Than'ks Action Kid from P.R.
that's a really cool place. So calm and serene and safe. No violence, no crime, no nothing. I am very impressed with this place. Looks like a good place to bring a family to. Keep these videos coming, they show some great places in USA for family dwelling and habitat.
Where is miles?

You are so cute. How long have u had this channel? Love the walkarounds. I watch Jason Goodman. He’s been doing this for a long time. Is that where u got the idea?
Thank you
You pasted Sylvia's restaurant on the opposite side famous restaurant
Do you feel safe ?
Yes Harlem is more diverse now and money moved in
I just watched this because I want to live in New York harlem
No please don’t
You are on 125th and you did not walk by the Apollo Theater and you're in Harlem
Thank you! Good job!
It's beautiful and pacefull! 👍

Brigadão, pela carona, Amigo, além de conhecer NYC, seu inglês é fácil de entender, continue assim!
Hi, folk very nice to have a time to watching your VDO again today. Your narration and voice are better than Walk Ride Fly because he narrates like talking to himself. The sound was not sweet too. Ok have a nice day folk.
The train station feels like max payne game
Ken your brave man just stay safe in the dangerous Apple.
Oh wow.Lenox ave is 6th ave..
love your channel
U still show the cement mostly. U have to watch other street videos to learn how to capture the neighborhood u r walking through and missing. When u cross street, slow down to show street name. Ppl might want to go there. But maybe u can’t teach an old dog new tricks. I’m trying to help u get more viewers and more content on streets
Boa Noite, viajando contigo sem sair de casa daqui de Torres RS, Brasil .
You find oxtail recipes in Black American dishes.
breakfast without coffee? how?
Good old stewed ox tails . Falling off the bone .
It's the best when they fall off the bone!
Yesssssss💞
Thank you for the tour!
Nice.
You walk NYC so we don't have to.
Do Second and B in Alphabet City please.
I got mugged there with a knife to my throat in 1991. Good times, Good times.
Nice to see my Home-town...A lot has changed!
