Calling it now. Disney should make a prequel about the life of a young Madame Bonfamille and how her career as an opera singer kept her apart from Georges Hautecourt. Also Duchess' great grandmother (or something) should be her very first cat.
^ I completely support that idea, only thing is, Disney wrecks everything these days. From shallow plots to wokeness, they know the best way to cheapen anything.
@@rominn2184 Heh, I was just thinking that Georges and Madame aren't a thing because one or both of them is LGBTQ. There's plenty of precedent for that in world history, never mind your fear of "wokeness".
I was watching this scene when my cat jumped on my bed. And he was staring at Duchess with giant eyes and I was like, "AWWW some-kitty's got a crush..."

That's assuming Disney remembers or even cares about it. Even if they did, they'd hire some moron to be the director, woke losers to be the writers, and shady actors, completely ruining the charm of this movie.
Part of me wonders why they aren't a couple, but also, I do like that they've got a genuinely platonic friendship. Such a thing is rare in Disney films, where a man and woman don't end up together and just stay friends throughout the story (and I'm not counting examples where the friends are separate species, like Ariel and Flounder or Tarzan and Terk).
Madame and Georges are nice people in Disney animation. It’s super funny and cute when they both dance together which begins as the intro to the animation @ 1:10. They’re separately voiced by the late Hermione Baddeley (Madame) and the late Charles Lane (Georges) in case you didn’t know that back then. 👍🏻 if you agree.
Which disappoints me when people say he’s “boring” or “uninteresting”. Honestly, he’s sorta vindicated in his feelings. He worked his butt off for this elderly lady and her pets, and he just has to go on working for them anyway? Granted, his math concerning how long the cats’ll live is a tad off, but that just furthers the humor about him. He’s honestly the perfect villain for this. Evil, sure, but understandable and to a degree relatable.

It is the Habanera from the opera Carmen by the French composer Georges Bizet. It is an aria, or simply a number from the opera, not a song. It was written a few decades before the Aristocats takes place.
Well at least they said it's from Carmen. Meanwhile I found out it's 'Habanera' from Carmen. But the song is usually very slow. I wish I could get a version like in the movie. Edit: Found that version
I swear to God, I thought the song they were dancing to was some kind of fancy orchestration of The Gonk. You can probably see how anyone could make that mistake :P
It’s wild to me how that music is clearly supposed to be the Habanera sequence from Carmen and yet the rhythm is not even close Like I only got it because he literally says “Carmen” and I majored in music
Give your major back. It is not "supposed to be" but _literally_ both strains of the Habanera, only re-scored for orchestra alone without Carmen's voice. No change whatever in the rhythm. That is, until the kitten upsets the gramophone and the music gets slowed down and mixed up.
This scene reminds me how beautiful hand drawn animation was.
