It's definitely possible that this happens. It's not really "compost," as it isn't decayed organic matter by microorganisms. It is dehydrated, ground up and its volume is significantly reduced and can be spread around in the garden where it will then eventually be broken down naturally. I think it's a great option for those who can't or don't want to manage the process of actually composting. :)
@@YappieKitchen Vitamix says that it uses 0.8 kWh to run a cycle, which isn’t much. You can just multiply that by your cost her kWh at the time of day you will run it. For us in San Diego on an EV electric plan, it’s about $0.13 to run it. Would be interesting to plug it in to a power meter though.
@@vl10211960 I have purchased new cylinders but have not tried the packets. Since I run the machine in our garage now, I don't really change the filters very often.
Thank you
Thank you for the review. I'd never heard of it until someone in another video mentioned having one. Does it not use a UV light inside? Thanks.
No problem! Nope, it doesn't have a UV light inside the Food Cycler.
I wonder if the heat that breaks down the food scraps makes more of a nutrient deficient mulch more so than rich compost?

But does it use a lot of energy

@@JustinReviewsIt thanks so much for the reply!
@@YappieKitchen My pleasure!
Have you purchased the charcoal packets or do you just purchase new cylinders?
