    Your Tears starts the focusing of your eyes. If you have poor or a thin tear film, this can cause blurry vision right from the start. If you tears evaporate too fast, and you have a low TBUT, this can cause a foggy cornea, which can cause hazy and foggy/blury vision. If your dry eyes get bad enough, it can cause dry patches on your cornea called keratitis. Superficial punctate keratitis, punctate erosions, and even corneal erosion can form on the cornea, making it tricky to see though those dry patches.
    The main dry eye treatments you can do at home include: preservative free artificial tears, omega 3 supplements, and good lid hygiene.

      One thing that I have found with myself... being completely honest and open, is that it takes a lot of energy and time to educate about dry eyes. If a doc is tired, or behind on schedule, it can be really tempting to brush over things. That is something that I have to recommit myself with every day... to try and give every patient my all.

      Goggles! You can see the moisture in them when you remove them. I prefer the “Onyx” over the see-through quartz. Lasts longer and you can’t see through the quartz once the moisture builds. I put a silk night eye mask over it just in case it should slip.

    I've had dry eyes for the last 6/7 years...The best remedy I've used it Organic Castor oil...Just using a tiny drop on the fingertip and swiping it across your eyeline like a eye pencil every night for two weeks in the beginning...Your eyes will become alittle blurry, red n gritty for the first two weeks...In the morning you may wake up with crusty eyes, this is all very normal as the Castor oil cleanses your eyes...After two weeks you use it once a week, over time maybe once a month...Your eyes will be clear n sharp, no more weeping eyes or feeling of grit...Castor oil will also safeguard your eyes against Cataracts and Glaucoma...I carry onto to use it every couple of months to maintain the moisture and clear vision...

    For the last few years(especially around 2020) my eyes have been getting dry and irritated. my eyes were never perfect I never had trouble seeing at night or the double vision you talked about. But I can even feel the dryness and irritation but when my eyes are properly lubricated I have vision like an eagle with amazing detail. I would myself contribute most of my dry eyes issue from lack of exercise/activity, my diet not being the best the last few years, and the irritants of my current home, aka environment. Even when I went to an eye doctor the head lady there couldn't have cared less about what I was saying to her about my dry and irritated eyes that this is a new problem. All she cared about was getting me a pair of new glasses $$$ for which I only ever needed them for the classroom sometimes. She was even nasty to say she would tell authorities or so that I needed glasses while driving, basically threatening me which after I got done with what I needed there I will never return. But from this video I feel this is exactly what I have, true dry eyes because of diet, lack of exercise, and environment and these solutions and reasons make perfect sense.

    Since I was a child I had a 1/4” grey spot on the white of my left eye which my eye doctor told me was a birth mark. When I was 60 I started to close my eyes in the shower and let the water spray on my eyelids, (eyes closed), turning my head side to side, 20x to improve eye circulation. Within two weeks the mark was completely gone. When I told my present doctor what I did he said it was impossible.
    I also asked him what the effects were of preservatives on living cells, or if cataracts were a kind of callus the eye makes from dry eyelids rubbing on the surface membrane of the eye and he didn’t know.
    I have always had dry eyes and could never wear contacts. Now I think it’s from clogging my tear ducts with the black eye pencil we used to line our inner eyelids with.

    I have suffered with extreme dry eyes for almost my entire life. As a teen, I would poke them or blow on them to make them tear up but with little relief. Then one day I realised that if I yawn, my eyes produced tears. These days I yawn like every few minutes through out the entire day, everyday for the tears. I never use eye drops because the relief is short lived. I have also experienced extremely blurred vision for months and became scared that I was going blind but didn't know why. Now I understand that it's down to the same dry eyes that have plagued me for my entire life :(

It happens while a person sleeps, and drinking water doesn’t stop it. DRY MOUTH , caused by restasis destroys your teeth. We have to have saliva in our mouths 24/7 to not get teeth damage. So beware of any drug like restasis. People have some ideas here that I’ll try, like the organic castor oil. Good luck to you. 🫶🏻😳🤫😝🤨🫶🏻

    I have get checked up by 5 doctor each and everyone gave a different prescription and number for my lens and last the conclusion was my original number was correct and I have dryness which can only be corrected by artificial tears.
    I had all these problems listed below
    1. Pain in my right eye only when I wear specs. Without specs its fine
    2. Right eye feels like a stone in my eyesocket
    3. Pain in eyebrows, below eye, nerve and forehead at right side, when I have the specs.
    4. Vision gets blurred after continuous working on the laptop. That's why I follow 202020.
    5. Little overlapping characters not much but worsen with continuous work.
    6. For dryness I have eyedrops 4 times a day which only delays the pain for a while.
    7. I feel sleepy and heavy eyes on my mac all the time and I have to sleep to recover, which I cannot afford
    8. Sometimes I cannot see the fonts clearly the same font and sometimes I can. ( Dont remember when) I think after continuously working and not having eyedrops in the last 2 hours
    What can be the reason and solution for this.

      Hi, I have similar symptoms, I have met 4 doctors and they have given different eyesight numbers, I got four different spectacles still blurriness is still present. However, I have the following problems--
      1) I feel little blurry in the mornings from 8:00AM to 10:00AM
      2) After breakfast(after 10:00AM), my vision gets more blurry
      3) It continues until evening 6pm
      4) However I feel active from 6pm until dinner. After dinner, I get blurry once again.
      4) Blurriness in the sense, that if I close one eye I can clearly see the vision(closing of any eye). This blurriness is seen both with specs on and without specs.
      5) I feel like there is some substance inside my eyes, I want to get rid of that substance. However doctors say that my eye is perfectly fine.
      6) I always want to close one eye (any eye) and focus with another eye.
      7) Due to this there is headache too, I always want to rub my temple head area due to this headache and always feel sleepy after 8pm. I am not able to hold my sleepiness after 10pm.
      8) Due to this I have become completely lazy. Concentration worsened too.
      9) Especially I feel this in my left eye.
      Finally, I feel like torture and none of the doctors are able to treat my problem from the past two years and now I feel my symptoms have worsened by a bit, If you can help me I would be thankful to you.

    So many times I'll tell patients that their meibomian glands are dropping out and going away and they probably have a certain level of evaporative dry eye disease and they respond by saying "but my eyes aren't dry". At the same time they are blinking about once every 2-3 seconds so their automatic blinks are accommodating for their evaporative dry eyes and they don't even know it. The next discussion is exactly what you talked about when you brought up "Tear Break Up Time" or TBUT. Good info!!!

(I know doctors don’t like patients doing their own research on line. But, this was such a relief to watch.) Hope they can help me. I have been losing vision in one eye for two years due to dryness. But, I am on Medi-Cal, which I am greatful for, that takes a great deal of self-advocacy and perserverance.
    The referral to an optomologist came from a doc who thinks it’s a cataract. This may be a challenge to overcome. The eye not tearing up as well as the other, seems to be the underlying problem.
    Thank you, again.

      @@RobertMclean-wj2yg Be careful with that, if you eyes are as dry then they are extremely sensitive to sharp things like peppermint and it may cause irritations. Standing in a cool stream of air works too, or walking around a bit with wide open eyes. Good luck with the Drops and dont mix them with peppermint please, because you want your eyes to relaxe not to exite.

    Okay I have a question. I have dry eye because I have thyroid issues. And I take a natural desiccated thyroid pills for this. Whether it's helping or not I don't know. But then I started having dry eye issues. And I used to wear glasses but when I would drive I would have to keep my left eye closed I didn't know why this was happening. I went to an eye doctor and he didn't really give me any answers. So I begin to research watch videos similar to yours and go on dry I platforms of which I didn't really gain that much information. I went to a so-called dry eye specialist who did a test and said you have dry eyes. And all they said was keep using the eye drops similar to what you showed. Well all of this is truly unhelpful and I've worn contacts my whole life but stopped because I couldn't afford them. But I am 62 years old and I wear contacts. And on this one platform the people all freaked out because I have dry eye and I wear contact lenses. Well I have to because I can't walk around with one eye open and the other eye close unless I have a contact lens on. Which is the really bad left eye. And but still these people freaked out because they thought it was weird that I was doing that and they said I'm drying my eyes out more. Well I have to be able to see for starters and there's no one to drive me around and I'm still good at driving so I have to do this but what about when I get to be 70 or 80 am I still going to wear this contact lens I don't want to walk around like a freak with one eye closed all the time. And this is how I wake up in the morning with one eye closed and my left eye open I must look ridiculous. So I don't know what to do. I now have a better eye doctor but I think there's a specialist I can go to unfortunately it's 3 hours away in a bigger city. But still I need to have something done with my left eye. And I do have a scratched cornea which I don't know how I got but I just am wondering.

Flax oil lubricates the eyeball from the inside out. Also, soaking raw honey overnight onto eyeball dissolves cataracts. Keep a wet washcloth on nightstand to wipe honey off before showering. Keep doing this regime til cataract is completely dissolved. Raw honey is a natural antibiotic. If you have an allergic reaction just use Benedrill or antihistamines. 🍯🐝🌾

    As a Srojgens sufferer I use gel type eyedrops, especially last thing at night, they keep the eye moisturised for much longer. I also carry with me the eyedrops that you can spray at a closed eye, eye drops are great, but this is good as it an be used anywhere and is convenient to carry.

    I was drilling concrete overhead as an electrical apprentice for nearly a a year only using safety glasses. I have had sevier dry eye problems since. Me eye specialist prescribed RESTASIS. I used this for 6 months and couldn't handle it any longer (it felt like I was putting gasoline in my eyes and was burning for at least an hour each time). I no longer use restasis on my own terms and cost. And now only use the over the counter tears drop appointments and gel drops occasionally are uncomfortable. I'm up at least 8 times each night putting drops in because of serious dryness.
    I'm not sure what I can do as I feel like my eye doctor just wants me to use these expensive terribly uncomfortable drops.
    Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Maybe another eye doctor for a second opinion? I'm only 37 years of age. And it seems like work place safety is always last.
    Thank you for your time !

    • @DrEyeGuy
      @DrEyeGuy  2 роки тому +3

      You can always go in for a second opinion, and see if you can find someone that works a lot with dry eyes. It can be helpful to do a full dry eye workup to see if you can figure the core issue. There are many other dry eye treatments available now, some expensive, some not. Sometimes it may take multiple treatments as well. Sorry to hear this too....dry eyes can be way worse than a lot of people realize.

    Is IPL forever or only temporary? It's quite expensive !

    • @DrEyeGuy
      @DrEyeGuy  Рік тому +1

      That is a great question, and it may depend on the person. I think the goal would be to try and get to a point where you wouldn't need to do IPL. But some people do need repeated treatment. The question is long-term what effects does IPL have.

    • @DrEyeGuy
      @DrEyeGuy  2 роки тому +4

      They can... the main thing is that it helps make the right quality of oil in the oil glands. The length of time really depends on the patient. I usually tell people to give it at least a month, longer if they can. I usually like to use the analogy of losing weight....it's never as fast as you want it to go, and sometimes it might take a while before you notice results.

      Exactly! I’ve had it for years, and it’s horrible. I used the drug restasis, and it did not stop the dry eye problem, but it did give me dry mouth. Dry mouth is terrible bc no amt. of drinking water stops it. Dry mouth happens while you sleep and it destroys your teeth, bc there’s no saliva for hours. I just pd about $5k on my teeth due to the damage, all bc of restasis.
